It was only 10am but Suzuki Suzume, big sister and/or energetic bane of everyone everywhere, had been up since 5. Which had, of course, likely been horrible for her roommate.

She'd sent out constant text messages since 7, with 'how to get there from pretty much anywhere in Iburi using public transport' instuctions, and arranged for Seiko to drive people who might have trouble with the train. She'd been trying to barter the entry prices down since 8, since they were a big party, and managed to get at least a small discount. After which a 'hey, say you're with Suzusuzu-nee and you'll get in cheaper' message went out. And she'd been blowing up and tying balloons since 9.

And now it was 10. And the park was open. And she'd been doing stretches and encouraging those who were there early to do likewise (warm up those muscles! The water might be cold!).

And now it was time to reap the rewards of her efforts.

Kozue in a swimsuit.

Awesome.

	Tom looked at Seiko, and smiled slightly. He looked around the pool, and shrugged. "I'm keeping an eye on things. Nothing has happened so far... so I guess... you could call it ... nice." (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Seiko grinned and took a sip of her drink from the large colorful 'crazee' straw she had somehow persuaded the drink seller to give her.

"Do you expect something to happen here though? There are so many people here, I mean anyone doing anything here is more likely to be seen?" She shrugged, and tilted her face towards the sun for a moment.

"I'm glad you are having a nice time, I'd not have thought this kind of place was your kind of thing." she said giving his outfit another glance.

Tom scanned the large crowd, and shrugged slightly.

"It's not really. But someone has to keep an eye on the team. We were told that our enemies would target us in Paradise, and the real world. And there's nothing more dangerous then a crowd of people who are only paying attention to what they're doing. They think because they're in public it's safe But they don't bother to look around. I could very easily grab you and pull you into a dark corner without anyone noticing." He then looked at Seiko and swallowed. "Not... that I would."

Seiko's smile slipped a little remembering she was part of the group it wasn't a very summery idea that people might be trying to kill them, on a day like this when surrounded by happy students it was easy to forget what she had been drawn into. But even if it slipped her mind she felt a little reassured that Tom wasn't so forgetful, meant someone had their backs at least.

"Yeah I guess you are right." she shrugged then smiled again. "Mind you, the thought that we may get killed can also mean you try to enjoy the nice things in life while you can before you have to go back to fighting shadows."

She sipped her drink and tilted her head at his final comment, after all she wasn't entirely sure why it was a dark corner she had to worry about, or maybe it was just she was a little perplexed that Tom felt he had to reassure her he had no plans of kidnapping her.

"I'm sure you wouldn't Tom-san don't worry, I promise I'll keep an eye out for-" she paused. "Anything suspicious."

Seiko stared, he'd never had nice things, she opened her mouth to try to say something failed to come up with anything so sipped her drink through the strange novelty straw and continued staring.

"You haven't..." Seiko struggled with this concept for a while. It wasn't that she didn't think people were ever deprived of nice belongings, but at this school students usually had more than anyone would ever need.

"But its not fair if I get to enjoy myself at the expense of you not having any fun." Seiko replied with a frown.

	Tom shrugged. Hi tone was light, well light for Tom, it still had that hard, deadpan edge to it. But was as friendly as he got when he was "working." "Come on Yukizaki-san. Seiko had asked around, but when the others had said Tom didn't do much for fun she assumed they were exaggerating, or maybe they hadn't had much time to answer her. Not that he literally didn't do anything fun at all.

"B-but that doesn't mean that...You still deserve to be able to have fun." she ran a hand through her hair "And even if they said you did nothing fun they don't think that's right. Its why Maeko-chan wanted you to come to the Arcade with us."

She tilted her head and looked him in the eyes. "That place is scary and dangerous, don't you think its worth trying to enjoy the time in between having to be in there? We have to be on our guard of course we do, but its kind of sad if it means that you don't get to sometimes just relax."

Seiko seemed to get more and more upset by each of his explanations. He didn't quite understand why, he wasn't that bothered by it. Plus it was much easier then letting his guard down, or attempting to engage in awkward social interaction.

However, Seiko had brought him presents, and had seemed just as confused by Toms reactions to her questions as he wasabout those presents. He held up a hand to calm her.

"It's okay Yukizaki-san. Tell you what, I'll make sure to have some fun next time things are less public, and it's just the people I trust. Would that meet with your approval?"

Seiko sighed. "Sorry its just...at this school you get used to people who are..." she didn't want to say 'a lot like Kanaye-kun' because that probably would come across the wrong way.

"You get used to the kind of person who has everything all the time. I didn't mean to sound like I disapproved or anything." Sudden awkwardness hit Seiko, which surprised her, usually she felt pretty confident talking to anyone she knew. She covered this by giving a small smile.

"Only have fun if you want to Tom-san, and...You really can call me Seiko."

	"Well whatever else, but 'Yukizaki-san' is too formal for someone who you are fighting together with. I mean...it just seems a bit strange for us all to be formal with each other when we see each other scared or angry..." she tailed off and shrugged. "Oh are you coming to Kanaye-kun's beach thing?" Tom looked away from her quickly. he really did want to call here Seiko, just Seiko. His eyes scanned the pool people, this time though he was watching for Kou or those kids from grade school to appear and yell at him for daring to drop the honorific.

"Huh... Seiko...". He said it expirimentally, and watched here to see if she would yell at him for being so foolish. But she didn't , and so Tom carried on.

"Yeah... umm Seiko, i'm going to go, important things might happen and I want to help handle them. And I guess... relax. I at least promised Kindo-San I'd go swimming."

Seiko grinned at him and nodded as he said her name, then checked her phone to see the time. "Yeah I need to find my lot too, they went to try and find some guy one of them likes." she shrugged and rolled her eyes, her regular friends were so normal compared to all the 'Paradise stuff' that is was kind of refreshing really.

"Have fun Tom!" she said turning to go and giving him a wave, dropping the honorific on his name too, to try to make it all seem more normal.

	Tom had meant that he had promised Kozue he'd go swimming at the beach, but he didn't correct her. He stared after her, mouth agape. One thought stuck in his mind. "She called me Tom." (Reply to this) (Parent)
