It was only 10am but Suzuki Suzume, big sister and/or energetic bane of everyone everywhere, had been up since 5. Which had, of course, likely been horrible for her roommate.

She'd sent out constant text messages since 7, with 'how to get there from pretty much anywhere in Iburi using public transport' instuctions, and arranged for Seiko to drive people who might have trouble with the train. She'd been trying to barter the entry prices down since 8, since they were a big party, and managed to get at least a small discount. After which a 'hey, say you're with Suzusuzu-nee and you'll get in cheaper' message went out. And she'd been blowing up and tying balloons since 9.

And now it was 10. And the park was open. And she'd been doing stretches and encouraging those who were there early to do likewise (warm up those muscles! The water might be cold!).

And now it was time to reap the rewards of her efforts.

Kozue in a swimsuit.

Awesome.

	The fidgetting continued. Maeko glanced back down the ramp and shifted her weight from one foor to the other nervously. "This is a really stupid slide. I'm going to stay here." she said, frowning and wrapping her fingers around Kanaye's. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Kanaye sighed at Maeko and smiled. He stepped towards her and started pulling her up towards the top. "Well, even if it is a stupid slide, it'd be rude to make people wait, right?" Kanaye smiled. "Bu-but it's too stupid to go down it!" She said. And that was totally the problem, how stupid the slide was. The ramp was stupid, too. Any form of going downward from here was stupid.

She was pulled up, not because she was particularly enthuseastic about it but because she wasn't really putting that much effort into going in either direction.

"I don't want anything. I just...stupid slide!"

	Maeko edged toward the slide quietly and poked it with her toe. When it didn't move at all she decided it could maybe be trusted as a means of escape. She held her breath, slowly and carefully. slowly and carefully. Until her foot slipped and down she went, coverring her eyes with her hands all the way until she splashed into the pool at the bottom. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Kanaye blinked and nearly laughed. He shook his head and, when the operator gave him the all clear, went down after her. After splashing down, he went above the water and started laughing. "So, Maeko-chan? How was it?" he asked, looking around for her. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Maeko was semi-sulking, sat on the steps of the pool with only her eyes above water level, holding her breath. Eventually, though, she needed air. "It was stupid! It snuck up on me again. I wasn't ready!" She coplained after a few gasps. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Automatic hostility has its downsides. One of them was the guilt. And the fact that people who never wanted hurt tended to be the ones who spent most time in the line of fire. "I'm sorry..." She said without turning, not even sure if Kanaye was still there. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Maeko wandered back to the pool she had been sulking in before and resumed bobbing up and down in the deep water and pretending that she thought everything was the slide's fault.

Whatever she'd been able to feel in the water before that had been so calming, she couldn't now. The sheer noise of the place was disorientating.

She wasn't sure how she hadn't noticed it before.
