It was only 10am but Suzuki Suzume, big sister and/or energetic bane of everyone everywhere, had been up since 5. Which had, of course, likely been horrible for her roommate.

She'd sent out constant text messages since 7, with 'how to get there from pretty much anywhere in Iburi using public transport' instuctions, and arranged for Seiko to drive people who might have trouble with the train. She'd been trying to barter the entry prices down since 8, since they were a big party, and managed to get at least a small discount. After which a 'hey, say you're with Suzusuzu-nee and you'll get in cheaper' message went out. And she'd been blowing up and tying balloons since 9.

And now it was 10. And the park was open. And she'd been doing stretches and encouraging those who were there early to do likewise (warm up those muscles! The water might be cold!).

And now it was time to reap the rewards of her efforts.

Kozue in a swimsuit.

Awesome.

	After he was done talking with Seiko, Kanaye started to look around for his other favorite people. He knew that Toru didn't feel good about himself when it comes to physical appearance, and he wanted to make sure Toru was happy. He spotted him and walked over, smiling. "Toru-kun, good to see you!" Toru had no idea as to what he was doing at the water park. He remembered something about Suzume forcing some ticket or other on him, and then being pushed onto a bus... and here he was now, standing next to a bench, under a beach umbrella, completely confused. It seemed that the rest of his schoolmates had gone off to enjoy the rides and whatnot, while he was lurking in the shade with an MS, still dressed in long pants and a T-shirt.

Nonetheless, it was easy to notice Kanaye's approach.

"H-hey, Kanaye-kun, what's up?"

	Kanaye was disappointed. Toru wasn't wearing a swimsuit! Doesn't that defeat the purpose of being at a waterpark? Kanaye needed to correct this, posthaste! "Why aren't you wearing a swimsuit? You'll look great, Toru-kun We should go swim a bit, not stay under an umbrella! You do that enough." Kanaye held out a hand. "Let's get you changed and into the water!" "I don't like swimming all that much," he said, shrugging almost like Thunder from USF7. He also didn't like having to wear a swimsuit, especially not in front of numerous people. Old habits died hard.

"...but if it matters that much, I'll go ahead and do that." Toru indicated his bag of belongings.

"Th-there's not a swimsuit with my stuff, though... I never ended up buying one. So, er... I hope someone's got a spare.... o-or maybe the gift shop..."

	Toru wordlessly pulled a crumpled map of the park from his bag, and pointed to a spot on it. "There. It's not a very long walk... w-we just can't see it from where we are right now." 	Kanaye nodded and followed, smiling. "Of course I want to swim with you, Toru-kun! Why wouldn't I? Even if you aren't the best, we're friends, and that's what counts. "Y-yeah, I guess..." He wasn't 100% certain that it was entirely proper for Kanaye to want to swim with him this badly, but he put that thought out of mind. Not his place to worry nor judge.

Even Toru, with his piss-poor sense of direction, had no trouble finding the gift shop. The place was bright and obvious, festooned with pool floats and other such niceties.

"Here we go," he remarked to his whistling companion, and walked in through the door. The gift shop was unremarkable on the inside, lined with pointless trinkets and knicknacks, commemorative (and embarrassing) shirts, and yet more pool floats. One section was, as hoped, full of bathing suits. They came in a rainbow of styles and colors... and Toru was hopelessly lost just looking at them.

"Kanaye-kun... h-help me pick something, okay? This was your idea, after all..."

Kanaye looked around, whistling. The place looked interesting. He liked pointless things. ~~He was one himself.~~ He looked at the swimsuits, nodding. "Of course I'll help!"

He set to work looking at the swimsuits. That one was the wrong color...that was too skimpy...that one was creepy...He eventually picked up a dark green pair of trunks that went down to Toru's knees. "Does this work?"

Green suited Toru, and he doubted any other trunks would do better in concealing his body. He nodded to Kanaye.

"I'll get those. Thanks."

Quiet once more, he took them from Kanaye and walked to the counter to pay. It was an irritatingly high fee for such swimwear, but to be expected from the gift shop of a water park.

"A-alright, let's go. I'm gonna have to get changed now..."

	Toru nodded, silently glad that Kanaye didn't insist on following him, and walked over to the changing station. Five minutes later, he still wasn't out. "I don't know that!" he shouted in a voice laden with discontent. But at the same time, his head against the door wasn't exactly keeping it closed. Kanaye's efforts forced him backwards, but he at least didn't manage to fall down, for once.

There he was, clad in the green swim trunks. It's true that the outfit wasn't exactly flattering- then again, nothing was on Toru, but it wasn't as horrible as he made it sound. He was just a skinny, awkward, pale kid in a green swimsuit that didn't fit him as well as it could've.

"See?"

Physical strength was not Toru's forte. Therefore, resistance against Kanaye was futile. After about five seconds of pulling back against him and trying vainly to stay within the stall, he gave in and allowed himself to be dragged out of the stall.

"Dammit..." The hot sun beat down against his pasty skin, and he could feel the eyes of the people outside sizing him up. Being dragged out by Kanaye in addition to all of this just made it worse.

"H-hey, I'm out now. You can let go... s-seriously."
