Tamiko scanned through the DVDs with a look of disinterest. This place was filthy. She shuddered internally as she imagined how many pairs of hands would have touched every box.

Ew. She should have brought gloves.

It couldn't be helped, she'd called around and this was the only place that had it. She should have just bought it online but then who know who'd have sent it? She might have inadvertantly told her dorm room number to some creep.

But still. A rental. This was so far below her.

The store was laid out in an invonvenient manner, too. They placed classical music concerts here with the special interest DVDs, as if normal people wouldn't want to watch them. ...at least they were well aware of the amount of cultural awareness this city seemed to have.

She found the box and removed it from the shelf, hardly surprised it was the only copy. She averted her eyes from the shelf opposite, with its exposed underthings and its sticky dvd cases as if it could infect her just by sight. In doing so, she walked into something disgusting.

"Ew. Watch where you're going." She snapped, dusting her front frantically.

Toru hadn't exactly been paying attention when Tamiko bumped into him. There was a DVD he'd been trying to pick out from the vast shelf in front of him, and he needed all of his concentration to keep his mind from wandering.

It was nonetheless a shock that someone bumped into him, and not the other way around. As she fluttered in disgust, he dropped a DVD box with a loud clatter, and turned to face her.

"S-sorry, er... senpai! I'll, uh..."

He paused for a second.

"Ew?" Such a verbal response was a rarity for him, but he couldn't help but inquire further.

Tamiko slowly, deliberately pointed at the case at her feet. The one that she was nudging away from her with one toe. And avoiding looking at the cover of after a single glance.

Naturally she was also having to avoid looking at this thing's face. This whole situation was unfortunate. The second she got to the dorms she was going to have to shower and she had wanted to watch the DVD as soon as possible.

"That. And You."

Utterly embarrassed, Toru stooped to recover his DVD. It was thankfully not scratched or anything, which would've been a pain to pay for. Some part of him hoped that Tamiko would be gone when he stood up. If she was the figment of an overtired imagination, that would improve things.

She was still there, disgustedly averting her eyes.

"Th-this isn't... it's just a DVD... a-and... am I disgusting? I-I showered not that long ago..." He looked from side to side, wondering what to do and how to escape intact.

	"It's filth." Tamiko corrected, very much still present, saying the last word slowly and deliberately. Blushing furiously, Toru looked down at the girl berating him.

"N-no, that's not true! It's quality entertainment, a-and loads of people watch it!"

Nonetheless, he moved his hands to hide the DVD behind his back. Holding a copy of Enchanting Composer Lilala that happened to have some of the episodes that never made it onto television wasn't exactly helping the argument he was attempting to make.

"...people?" She sounded like she was considering that use of the word from the first time. A smirk danced across her lips for a few seconds but was quickly replaced by the same uninterested scowl. Watching filth like this squirm was the only thing that made thier presence bearable. "Trash who enjoy that disgusting taint upon our culture are clearly either worthless or dangerous to society."

Toru did indeed squirm under her scrutiny. After spending so much time with Kanaye and others who tended to reaffirm his self-worth on a regular basis, it was easy to forget what "normal" people thought of him. Yet, an almost self-righteous furor rose burning in his chest after a few moments, and he spoke.

"I-it's a part of our culture now, and it has been for decades! Y-you're talking like you don't realize how many people... er... I... um... we're not worthless trash!"

Despite Toru's height letting him tower over Tamiko she was completely secure in her power here. The shut-in talking back was unexpected. But it would only make tearing him down all the more satisfying.

"It's infected my culture." She said, varying between intense focus on Toru's face and complete disinterest. "Just because there's a few more of you than there used to be doesn't make any difference, you're all far too busy focusing on the underthings of underaged girls to make any change to the real world. The world that wouldn't lose a thing if they locked away everyone who watches that dirt."

	Any attempt at a response came out as the mouthing of words not connected to one another. Toru couldn't really say anything back. All that was possible was a generally-horrified series of expressions and gestures, which eventually progressed to: "T-that's not fair!" Toru clutched the DVD in tensely-clenched hands, and hoped for Tamiko to leave soon. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	The victory might have been sweeter were it not ruined by having to look at that. "Of course it's not. Why would something like you expect fairness?" 	Toru gulped. "D-don't all people deserve some kind of fairness in life?" Regardless of how he felt, he was more than happy to step aside to let Tamiko pass. 	He couldn't respond. Toru just sadly looked at his DVD box until Tamiko was done checking out her DVD, then picked up what he knocked onto the floor. The whole experience rather soured his day. (Reply to this) (Parent)
