Investigation Day 1
Who: Open.
What: Investigation - Toru's Room.
Where: Nanakamado Dorms.
When: After school.
Why: Investigatings.

Kouchisei waited outside the dorm. Things had proven difficult in getting here. His sense of direction was offputting with schoolgirls walking near and he needed more allergen pills to counter the pollen hanging on the air. Everything about Toru's disappearance was strange, though. Misaki had gone off - what was up with that girl? He tapped his fingers against his arms, impatience getting the better of him as he waited.

"Hmph. Should've come with someone who has keys," he grumbled.

They were supposed to be looking. Waiting like this only showed him how incompetent they were, and how they couldn't handle a task that had... why were they the ones with the power of Persona, anyway? Except he knew he was wrong; these people had risked their lives for someone [him] they hadn't known. He wanted to be like that.

Like he was trying.

He knocked the door with his fist, hoping someone would answer.

“Or maybe you should take a class on industrious building entry,” he taunted from a few steps away, forehead pressed against the glass of the window and head tilting this way and that to try and get a better look. He could see the voluminous storm clouds reflected off the window, craggy thunderheads looming overhead with promise of more than a mild patter of rain. Thunder was already rolling in uneven intervals, and angry streaks of lightning illuminated the guts of the angry clouds.

He bumped his forehead against the window with a grump, turned to Kou waiting ineffectually at the door and walked over to shunt him inside. The door gave to the first angry kick of the delinquent, rebounded with the spectacular energy of the kick off the wall and back into Reizo’s face. The large boy stood deathly still in the doorway, door creaking on its hinges as it turned inward again.

“Door’s open,” he announced, pledge of a malicious death to anyone who dared laugh dripping off his words.

Too absorbed with watching the lightning, Shiori didn't so much as flinch at the sudden violent kick to the door. Still, she turned away from the sky to see if Reizo's method worked. Almost immediately, a giggle escaped from her lips; for someone so cool, it was humorous to see him get hit by something as stupid as a door. Wasn't he supposed to be the skilled fighter?

Still, she didn't do anything beyond the giggle and instead went back to looking at the sky. She hoped it would pass quickly; it'd really suck if she had to walk home in the rain. Taking a step into the building, she paused.

"Er, anyone know where his room is?" Shiori asked, realizing that perhaps someone who knew where they were going should lead.

Kanaye mentally snickered. Looks like he wasn't the only one that hated Reizo, after all. Even doors don't like him! He really wished he had a camera or something. It'd be priceless.

"No idea. Why would we?" Kanaye asked, entering the dorm and looking around, hoping that no one noticed Reizo's way of opening the door. He really didn't want to explain to anyone why he was hanging out with Reizo or why his new found "friend" just kicked a door open.

Kanaye snicked. Kouchisei was standing quietly with a dumbfounded expression. Reizo kicking the door... he suddenly noticed how quiet it was, and that it had shocked him [Reizo was a delinquent, after all]. What stayed in-mind, however, was that the door had rebounded, smacking the younger boy in the face.

He then scowled. It seemed he had to get used to the fact this moron had been given the power of Persona as well.

"Just find someone and ask them," he said.

Kiriko frowned; Reizo's actions were unecessary as always, and it served him right that they were coming back to slap him in the face for once (this time quite literally). She looked down at the dorm key in her hand, grimacing. It made sense that the girl's keys wouldn't work on the boy's dorms, but it was still a pain in the ass.

When Kou spoke, she turned to him with a nod. Brushing past the rest of the group, she made her way through the door.

Inside, the layout looked roughly similar to the girl's dorms. She followed the path she supposed would lead to the shared living room and was quite pleased when she discovered she'd led everyone in the right direction - ahead of them on the sofa were two boys who must live there, one of which she recognized as a first year in her class.

"Hey," said the smirking Kiriko, folding her arms over her chest as she sidled into the room. "Do either of you know where Ishinomori Toru's room is?"

Both boys looked up, exchanging confused looks. Girls weren't supposed to be in the boy's dorm, were they? The crowed that followed Kiriko seemed to surprise them only further, a look of terrified recognition flashing across the younger's face when Reizo appeared in the doorframe. If Kiriko's memory served, he was the one who had filed the complaint about Shirai earlier in the year...

"I think he's in 2-B," said the older hesitantly, having already decided not to ask too many questions, "But I don't think he's there. His door might still be unlocked, though."

"And even if it was, Reizo would solve that problem." Kanaye said, finding a map to the dorm on one of the walls. Studying it, he found out it wasn't very far, comparatively. "Come along, everyone. It's over here." Kanaye called. He wanted to hurry this up, before someone who wouldn't or couldn't be intimidated found them out. He might be able to explain it as being friends of Toru, or borrowing something from him, but Kiriko is still a girl.

Finding 2-B, he tried the door. Sure enough, it was open. He started searching the room, looking for something important. That is, Toru's eroge stash. Someone like that kid would have a huge pile of games. And he might find relevant to the investigation, as well. Win/win situation!

Toru was beyond mortified to hear his door open. I thought I locked it! He was even more mortified to see that Kanaye, of all people, was breaking into his room. At the moment, Toru had been obscured by his closet door, looking on the floor for some hard-to-spot manga. As it was, it appeared that Kanaye didn't see him there. He leaned out from behind the closet door, face set with anger.

"Get the hell out of here, sempai! What are you even doing in my room?! Y-you... I'll have you thrown out! You can just go breaking into people's rooms!" He was now standing directly in front of the older boy, glaring.

Misaki had hurried to the dorms and had quietly followed behind the others. She was now hopping up and down trying to get a look at what was going on. She bounced from ball to ball on her feet trying to get up. Hearing the sound of the door opening and the following shouts she became surprised and ducked down to crawl under the many legs that blocked her path.

"Excuse me...sorry Kiriko-chan, pardon me Shiori-chan," she slipped closer to where Kanaye was and peered around him at Toru. Smiling brightly she looked relieved seeing he was there.

"Toru-kun! You're okay! Please forgive, we were worried about you."

"...Oh. Sorry, Toru. We hadn't heard of you, and you know about the other world. We were worried. You weren't on Matsuri, you weren't at school...We thought you were in the other world. I did, at least. Can't be too careful." Kanaye said sheepishly, backing up.

A sick feeling rose in Toru's stomach. Not only was the obnoxious third-year there, but so was Misaki. And Kouchisei. And... a whole crowd of other students. The other Persona-users, or so it seemed. They were looking for him? He stared balefully at them, especially Kanaye after he spoke.

"Maybe you should have considered that I left because I didn't want you people around. Where do you get off, sticking your nose places where it doesn't belong, anyway? I just wanted to find a place where I could be happy! Not like that damn school! Not where everyone would be looking at me!" His rage was slowly building inside him like a small fire.

Moving aside when Aoi-san went past her, Shiori lurked somewhere in the middle of the ground. Close enough she was seen, but far back enough that she wouldn't be expected to talk. To be honest, she wasn't quite sure why she had come with; sure, she was worried about Ishinomori, but she didn't know him well enough to check up on him on her own. Maybe it was best she went with the group to these things; if she was going to be involved in this whole thing - and, more importantly, draw them - then it would probably be for the best if she became friends with everyone. She'd look like less of a creep that way.

By now, with Aoi-san and Satou-senpai talking to Ishinomori, it seemed like it'd be a bit of a waste for Shiori to jump in. And with Ishinomori's less-than-pleased attitude towards them being there, she figured that staying quiet would probably be the best way to go.

Or that's what she told herself, anyway, before hesitantly speaking up.

"Everyone's too busy looking at themselves to notice anyone else," Shiori said, before falling silent once again. Anything else would have sounded rude.

From her place in the lead, Kiriko stared into Toru's room. Her eyes flicked around it in search of anything unusual, and in particular, any new game boxes - she hadn't admitted it back at the meeting, but it was odd that he hadn't been on Matsuri. How he was acting now was just as odd. Her eyes settled on the rather dimunitive boy, lips curling into a frown. Maybe something bad was happening in his family or something like that, but she'd never got the impression of him as being someone who was so unfriendly. On the other hand, they had pretty much kicked his door down and invaded his space.

"Well, you heard him," she announced with a shrug. "Let's get going, everyone."

Either way, there wasn't any use harassing him, was there? Besides, it would probably be easier to get answers from him if they tried talking to him online...

Damn hikikomori.

Pushing up his glasses, Kou shook his head. "If you think people don't badmouth each other on the internet, you're mistaken."

He stayed at the back of the group, feeling safer on the outside. It meant he wasn't as involved. He'd done his part and now they could do theirs - without him.

Doing as Kiriko said, he turned around and started walking away.

They were walking away now. Good. I don't need... people, coming into my life and interfering with how I live it. But Shiori and Kouchisei's words stuck with him. What were they thinking? They didn't understand the situation at all.

"Shiori-sempai. People aren't just self-absorbed, you know. They'll look away from their own reflections just long enough to mock someone else's. If a person can't find their own beauty, they'll find someone else uglier or stranger so that they can feel better about their own face." Toru said this bitterly, spitting out words that too long had stewed in his mind.

"And... Kouchisei-sempai? It's not people badmouthing me on the Internet. I love the Internet. I practically live there. It's real people who are awful. Real, tangible people, here at this damn school. Trolls I can deal with. Tough guys, I can deal with too. It's... out here that I can't win."

Kiriko stopped. She had already begin walking away, but paused to listen to Toru when he spoke once again. Glancing back over her shoulder, she looked as dispassionate as ever as she spoke.

"Honestly? I don't know what you're going through, Ishinomori, but hiding away like this is pretty pathetic... and stupid."

She turned her head back forwards, glancing up at the ceiling before continuing.

"Enjoy it before the truant officers get you, I guess."

With a shrug, she continued walking. Something was twisting in the pit of her stomach. That speech sounded too familiar, and suddenly she was having flashbacks to the operating theatre. She cast a worried glance at Kou as they left, wondering if he'd made the connection, too.

Toru was relieved to see the group leaving. He put a hand on the door, preparing to close it.

"One last thing. I'm not hiding. If I was hiding... none of you would have found me."

“That’s fascinating,” he deadpanned, jamming a thick boot in between the door and shoving it and the boy behind it back. He tossed the group an unbelieving look and then shook his head. Who went to find someone in their room and didn’t look around the roomgiven the chance? It was half the interest! Granted, they hadn’t been invited in, but that never stopped Reizo before..

He let out a low whistle after he’d forced his way inside, head turning to take a good gander around the room. He’d never actually seen a room so .. Stereotypically otaku (is that okay? Otherwise I’ll edit it!) He made a beeline to the impressive library of games and started leafing through them.

Kanaye was about to reply when Reizo butted in. Kanaye could only watch in disbelief as he started going through Toru's stack of games. "Reizo, stop that! We went to see if he was alright, and here he is, perfectly alright." Physically, at least. "...Actually, nothing I'm going to say is going to stop you, so I'll be over here." Kanaye explained, quickly moving towards the other members of the group, as far away from Reizo as possible.

Toru could do nothing to stop Reizo from entering the room. This wasn't exactly surprising- his classmate had a huge advantage over him in terms of strength and size. The door swung open and Toru found himself momentarily pinned against the wall, until Reizo had entered the room... and started rooting through Toru's games.

"Stop it, Reizo-kun! Those aren't yours to look through!" He ineffectually tugged at one of Reizo's arms as the larger boy continued to search. "If you touch my copy of Days of Fate, you're never going to live it down! I just got it!" (OOC Note: Days of Fate=Fate/Stay Night)

"Shirai-san please, stop this, it's silly to go though his things," Misaki said going over to Toru and looking at him gently, there was something sad to her face, worry more then likely but almost a sense of feeling not wanted either. It hurt, she had to admit, to hear such things coming from someone that she had genuinely liked.

"Toru-san, I'm sorry that we disturbed you, but not seeing you in school...I was hoping that we could talk more like we have been online. You know...are you okay? Shirai-san didn't hurt you did he?"

Toru turned from Reizo to face Misaki. I thought she understood. Even... just a little. But she's here too, just like the others. Without even thinking about it, he allowed his face to contort into a cold glare.

"I thought it was clear that I wanted you guys to leave me alone. I don't care if you all 'need me' or something. What's hurting me is the fact that you're all here! This room is a place none of you are supposed to enter!"

He resumed his attempts to pry Reizo off his belongings.

"Whatever. Let's leave him alone, he's not going to respond to much else." Kanaye remarked bitterly while turning and leaving. "Just remember: When you die unmourned and unremembered, you are the one to blame." He finished before walking off, while a dramatic wind blew in the background.

Misaki looked at him sadly. Why did he want to be alone. They had talked about her coming over. She thought they were friends.

She turned and glared at Kanaye, hearing what he said...she didn't care if Toru was acting rude that was....

"Satou-sempai....Appologize to Toru kun! That was uncalled for!"

Reizo swatted the smaller boy away with a gentle push, peering at the various spines of the game cases and frowning. He hadn’t played many of these, but none of them sounded all that interesting either.

“I ain’t gonna take your stupid Days of Fate! Calm it down, geeze,” he grumbled, peeling away from the book case just to get the runt to quit pestering him so much. Instead he went back to standing in place and looking around the room.

“How much did this all cost?” He half-muttered, ignoring the bits of dramatic going on behind him between Misaki and Kanaye.

Toru gave a halfhearted "get out!" in response to Reizo shoving him. There really was no point with him, was there. He turned to face Kanaye and Misaki.

"Misaki. Kanaye. I don't want to hear this. Stop getting involved with me. Just get out of my room. All of you." He placed his hand firmly on the door.

Misaki couldn't believe this. How could Toru kun be acting so rude. What was going on here. He wasn't like this at all at the arcade. This wasn't...like him at all. She dropped her head as she said with a trembling voice.

"A-Alright, I'll go...but..I'm not just going to pretend everythings okay Toru-kun. Because you're not acting like the Toru kun that I know you are!" Turning she headed for the door and tried to keep the tears in check. It hurt...it really hurt to hear Toru kun say such mean things.
