Who: Seiko and Maeko
What: Kidnapping.
When: Around noon when Maeko gets off work.
Where: Outside Maeko's work to begin with.
Why: Seiko is Captain Compassion.

Seiko had a plan, a plan so devious, so incredible she had not told another soul of its true nature. She was going to kidnap Maeko. Because Maeko needed a break, Seiko had been keeping an eye on her friend, and she had decided what the other girl needed was a proper little break from the area and see she at least one friend who did normal nice things with her.

However Seiko was fairly sure Maeko would not agree to the idea if just asked, this was where the kidnap came in, She would innocently wait outside the ice cream shop were Maeko worked, say she was just passing and offer her a lift. Then she'd lock the doors of her Katarai ( one of Satou Motors' latest cars)with its handy carlock button and they'd be off.

She lent against her car outside the ice cream shop, all there was to do now was to wait for Maeko....

It was becoming easier to work with the ice cream again, thankfully. That had been an awkward week or so, all things considered.

Work was nice. Dealing with customers was so much easier than dealing with Misaki and Kanaye. Except for when the other parttimer had mentionned seeing 'your friend' around the other day. That had sent her on edge.

But the shift was over. Now to go home and make envelopes and translate phone calls.

"Ah, Seiko-chan!" Using a given name still felt odd. But it was nice, too. "Were you here to eat? If I go in to I could see if they'll give us a discount!"

Seiko smiled a natural bright smile, the target had arrived...

"I was in town looking for some stuff for Goro-sama, and thought you'd be getting off work about now...So I stopped by to give you a lift back." she bounced on her heels with a sunny smile, she had spent ages rehearsing that in her head.

"What do you say?" she patted her car invitingly.

"Oh, that's a kind offer!" Maeko said, smiling. She thought, trying to remember if she was supposed to pick anything up from the store on the way home. She concluded that she wasn't. "Thank you so much!"

Seiko opened the passenger door for Maeko, watching carefully as her friend climbed in and closing the door with great attention. She then hopped round and flung herself into the driver's seat and started the engine and sneakily hitting the carlock.

"So how are you Maeko-chan?" Seiko said in her usual cheerful manner, as if this was a normal afternoon free from kidnap.

"I'm fine! There's a lot to do this time of you so they have me running around a lot but at least it isn't boring." She nodded to herself. She wasn't so tired but she was glad to be spared the walk home. "How have you been?"

"I've been good, looking after my Dad a bit more recently, he gets lonely mostly." she shrugged a little, rather going into a long speech about her awesome father, after all she doubted Maeko would want to hear it.

She also hoped Maeko wasn't looking out the window, because they were just about to pass the school gates.

"Anyway! Have you done all the homework yet?" she asked cheerily hoping to distract Maeko from the windows.

"Ah, I'm glad you're so close" Maeko said, nodding.

"I have, I did it in the first week while I was staying up to keep an eye on- wait, did I tell you where I live yet?"

...because if she was driving without that information it was pretty worrying.

"Oh yeah you told me." Seiko said reassuringly, lying of course, but only temporarily, this was for Maeko's own good after all, Seiko continued to drive, the route to the Zoo was easy enough, but she had it memorised so they could get there quickly before Maeko noticed where they were going and tried to get out.

"I'm glad you are on top of things, this...'stuff' can get in the way of regular life it seems."

"Ah, I must have forgotten." At this point, it didn't seem unfathomable. She'd been losing a lot of time around the time she was looking after Misaki, forgetting chunks of an hour or so at a time. Maybe she'd spoken about it around that time?

"It's problematic but I think we're making the best of it. Some of is probably would have never spoken to each other if it wasn't for this. I doubt I'd have ever really talked to" Kanaye. "Ikeda-san. Or Sagaki. We're a mixed bunch."

"Oh hey, I think you should have gone down that road..."

"I think it was just a passing comment once, I just memorised it cause I had just got the car you see, so everything about routes and stuff was very important!" she laughed a little and took a turning.

"Yeah I guess we are, but I hope in the end we will get on, I don't want there to be any accidents because we can't pull together at least in a fight." she sighed, she was trying to make friends with as many of the others as possible, but it was hard and she didn't want to force herself at people.

"Ah no its okay this is a shortcut, I checked the map whilst waiting for you." she trilled proud of her cover story.

"Okay, then!"

Maeko thought. "I think we can at leat put aside our differences and concentrate on working together when we need to. Being able to do it when it's not so important would be nice but it's not essential."

"Huh, really?" If Maeko had any reason to doubt Seiko she'd probably have worked out that they weren't going in the right direction at all now. But she didn't and seeing the roads from inside a car (which was a novelty in itself. it was rare for her to be in a car) was different from walking along them.

"I guess so, I'm just concerned, I'd hate for anyone to be hurt." she gave a small smile. "I guess maybe I worry too much or am too soft, I just want to make sure everyone will be okay."

"Oh yeah I had a few minutes and I didn't want to miss our destination." she said with a double meaning, amazed Maeko suspected nothing yet.

"We've been-" Maeko cut herself off. Fine was an obvious lie. "-We've survived this long. I'm sure we'll be okay."

"Ah, I'm-" ...wait, that bus stop was not between Kigakiga and the block of appartments where she lived. "...I think you're going the wrong way. Are you sure you checked a map?"

"I hope so." Seiko said calmly and thoughtfully.

"Ah well you see about that..." she smiled a little almost nervous. "Don't be mad but we are going to go on a....trip...of sorts." she nodded and braced herself a little, she was unsure how Maeko would react, hopefully without shouting or an attack.

Maeko froze up instantly. Out of control. Panic. Especially if she might possibly be-

-There was no way Seiko was a shadow, right? Right? And oh god, she had no real specific fear of cars but that one guy from thier school had died in that crash in march and-

-So it would be best not to try to provoke anything, just in case.

"-Where are we going?" She asked, trying not to let her tone change too much.

"Um I think there are some other exhibits with baby animals, Seiko said gesturing towards the map in Maeko's hands. Though her eyes were still fixed on the cubs who were still playing.

"He grew big really fast." Seiko explained blinking a little surprised, weren't all cats like that? "It was around the time he lost his ear..."

Maeko half-glanced toward the map. "There's...there's frogs. We should look at the frogs when these stop being cute."

Which wouldn't be any time soon.

"Really? What happenned?" She asked.

"Awww frogs are cute too." Seiko grinned. "I don't know if they will ever stop being cute...we should move onto the frogs before it gets so late we have to leave..." she sighed a little, after all it was baby lions!

She rubbed her nose. "He attacked an even bigger dog and it ripped his ear which had to be amputated...He can still hear alright though."

"...you're right." Maeko started to move away from the lions, attempting to keep watching them by walking backward but stumbling and having to force herself to look away. "Froggies are this way, I think!"

"Really? I never knew cats attacked dogs. ...poor thing, though."

"I think they have other stuff too besides frogs. I hope they have those brightly coloured frogs, oh and red-eyed tree frogs!" she smiled again, glad to see Maeko happy. Maeko had always been nice to her, before Seiko had gained her 'power', even if it was just her duty as class rep to keep an eye on her, Seiko had still appreciated it.

"Goro-sama is just a bit too playful." Seiko explained, 'playful' meaning 'vicious, angry and short tempered.'. "He was okay, but people tend to call him ugly now..."

"Yeah! The normal kind are cool too but the brightly coloured kind are awesome!" Maeko grinned. Frogs were all ribbitty and cool.

"Ah, so it was like play fighting? I guess the dog wasn't playing so much if he lost an ear, though..." Maeko thought. "Really? I imagine he'd look kind of funny but I don't know about ugly. It's just an ear."

"They are so small its cute, and the noises they make can be so funny." Seiko bounced along as usual as they walked, secretly elated at the wide grin Maeko had shown.

"Goro-sama just does silly things sometimes, but that dog was a bit vicious." Seiko was good at having a selective memory when it came to her cat. "It makes him look cool! Cause he looks all tough and strong."

"I know, right? And they make thier necks all weird and stuff!"

"Yeah, it's kind of nasty if he was just wanting to play! Poor thing." She thought. "I guess it would. It'd be like if he was wearing an eyepatch or something only with less eyepatches and ears."

"Yeah...wait they do what?" Seiko was not that well versed in frog science.

"Yeah, like some kind of cat pirate." Seiko mused as they got to the amphibian 'dome' which was darker inside and due to the frogs being from warmer climates it was humid and hot as well. Seiko rushed to one of the glass enclosures to point at some red and blue frogs. "Look Maeko-chan!"
