Kanaye smiled at her weakly. "Hey, Yoshimi-san." He walked in, glad that he finally found the right room. Kanaye doubted a husband would appreciate it if he knocked on a door with a bottle of alcohol. Speaking of which, he offered it up to her. "Well, I guess..." He sighed. "I..." Kanaye just looked at the ground, then continued. "Yoshimi-san. I guess I'm here to say I'm sorry for ditching you at that place. And that I really don't want to see you this depressed. You're a nice girl. You don't deserve to have this happen to you." Sitting down wherever he could find a spot, he smiled. "Yes, but..." Kanaye shook his head. "If I was there I could've fought instead of you. Or instead of anyone else. I was a coward and ran away, and you had to pay the price for it. I'm sorry." He bowed to her. Kanaye sighed. "I..." That was kind of obvious. "I...Well, I guess that won't really work, eh?" He chuckled a bit, uneasy. "I figured you'd miss him..." Shaking his head, Kanaye looked at Yoshimi. "...I guess I can sympathize. I went through something similar. I lost a family member. But I guess that's a bit different from a boyfriend, right? Kanaye froze for a bit, then continued. "I left all of you to die." "...I guess I know what you mean. I mean, when I lost Daichi..." Kanaye sighed. "I guess it's unreasonable to expect you to be able to talk about it with someone you don't trust. But..." Kanaye stood up and walked over to Yoshimi. Deciding that it's not like it could make the situation worse, he reached around and hugged her. "I...don't want to talk about Daichi either. But I'll talk about him if you talk about Shingo-san." "It's not much but if you loved him, it certainly makes sense you'd be so effected by his passing." He was confused, though. He had died in April, right? And it was September. So five months. She still hasn't gotten over it? Odd... Kanaye sighed. "Well, I met Daichi when I was five. I never went out of the house, yaknow. My parents were worried I'd get kidnapped or something. Kanaye smiled at her. "No worries, Yoshimi-san. I'm glad to help." Kanaye sighed and shook his head. "Well, that's understandable. That's a big step, yaknow. It's perfectly logical to not want to do that. He's just being stupid." Kanaye twitched and looked at Yoshimi. "...He was cheating on you? Seriously?" He hugged Yoshimi tighter. "That's stupid! You don't just freaking go out with someone else because your girlfriend won't go to the next level! It's...retarded! It's not your fault, Yoshimi-san, and don't you ever think it is.
