Who: Misaki and Open
What: Needs to be cheered up
Where: Sitting outside the dorms on a bench
When: After finding the box and the note in the trash
Why: Because she feels down.

Misaki's fingers played with the ribbon on the box as she sat back wiping tears with the back of her wrist. She didn't know what to do. She just wanted to talk to Maeko, even if it meant not being friends with her, she could take that. Just so they could be civil and Maeko didn't go running off when she saw her. Was that so much to ask.

She sniffled some, and sighed. She had to wonder if word had gotten around the school about this and if people hated her for it. No doubt, in her mind, they did. Crying wouldn't get her anywhere, but it felt better then ignoring the fact that she was in pain emotionally.

Placing the box beside her she took some deep breaths to relax and then laid on the bench to think. Maybe the warm light could give her some help. She closed her eyes, and drifted off to a light napping sleep.

"something like that, yeah." Seiji didn't seem too affected by it.

"she's the best snake. if she needed an extra heart to grow that big she could probably get it. i'd let her eat people who yell at me."

"because heroes are for Mizoguchi-sama and Sagaki-san. i don't want to be one."

"When did she depart?" Misaki asked kindly and smiled some. This made sense, so his mother was dead, which might explain some of his behavior. "Did your dad depart too?"

"Let her eat people who yell at you? Who's been yelling at you?" Misaki looked concerned.

Misaki laughed, "There are other sorts of hero's though Seiji-kun. Like, for example, the first year that saved a puppy in the street. She's could be seen as a hero, and she's not very strong."

"...depart? she didn't go anywhere. she just died." Seiji was apparently not very good at euphamisms. "Dad just left for work one day and didn't come back because I made him go away."

"lots of people yell at me. it's not like she'd be hungry ever."

"i'm happy the way i am. it's nice."

"Oh well saying someone departed is a way of nicely saying that they died," Misaki paused, "Where did he go to? Well he would have had to have gone some where if your uncle is taking care of you. Where's your mom buried?"

"Like who?" Misaki looked at him confused. "You don't seem like a person to yell at. You're really nice."

"Well if you like it like that, then that's a good thing. I'm glad one of us is really happy," misaki said softly.

"it just seems like a longer way of saying it. not like calling it something different'll ever make it something different." He really didn't seem affected at all. "i don't know where he went and i can't find where she's buried."

"people in my class and in school and on the team and at the petshop and...it's okay, though. Anna-nee'll eat them all up if she turns big."

"i'm glad too."

"Well you know her name right? Maybe I can help you find her?" Misaki offered and shook her head. Was there something wrong inside his head that he wasn't affected by the idea of death?

"Maybe they don't know how to be paticent. I don't think I ever yelled at you? Did I Seiji-kun?" Misaki asked him. "It might be better if she doesn't. If she did it would make their family sad though, don't you think?"

Misaki twiched some and nodded.

"it's okay, someone's already helping."

"i don't remember but..." He thought some more and frowned. "if they didn't want them to be eaten they should stop them from yelling."

"Who would that be?"

Misaki looked at him, "Sometimes when people get angry they yell because they don't think the person is listening or understanding. Wouldn't you be sad if Anna-nee chan accidently ate someone that was really nice though?"

"Sakaki-senpai."

"it's still bad to do it. Anna-nee's smart. she wouldn't eat anyone unless they deserved it."

"Sakaki-senpai? Who's that?" Misaki asked curiously.

"I know it's bad to yell, but people don't always yell," Misaki said softly. "And If you say so." She didn't trust a snake to be that smart.

"huh? you don't know him? nevermind then." Seiji shrugged.

"yes they do." He frowned. "i do say so."

"Well I know a Sagaki-san, I might though, what does he look like?" misaki asked calmly and smiled.

"When do they yell at you?" Misaki asked.

"it doesn't matter, never mind." Seiji had started to mumble. He'd said it wrong and made her misunderstand. That was as bad as lying! He was a bad person.

"it doesn't matter." He repeated, shaking his head.

"Seiji-kun, it's fine," Misaki smiled at him. "So Sagaki-kun said he would help you? That's really nice of him."

"Sure it does, you're not someone that needs people yelling at you," Misaki said kindly.

"no it doesn't."

"That you said Sakaki instead of Sagaki, it's easy to mix up his name," Misaki explained.

"Of course it matters, you're a nice person. People shouldn't yell at you because they're being jerks," Miskai pointed to the jacket, "You didn't have to put the jacket on me, but you did because you're a kind person."

"wh-why would that not be fine?" Seiji was suddenly very alarmed. If she felt the need to say it was fine then it meant that normally people might think it was bad, right? It was rare for him to have something confirmed to be bad.

"it doesn't matter." Seiji said. Why would she not stop talking about it? Didn't she understand when people said they didn't want to talk? It was just like the people who asked him the same question over and over no matter what he answered. Only, he supposed, she wasn't threatning to hit him if he didn't answer. Yet. "i don't want to discuss this."
