Who: Misaki and Open
What: Needs to be cheered up
Where: Sitting outside the dorms on a bench
When: After finding the box and the note in the trash
Why: Because she feels down.

Misaki's fingers played with the ribbon on the box as she sat back wiping tears with the back of her wrist. She didn't know what to do. She just wanted to talk to Maeko, even if it meant not being friends with her, she could take that. Just so they could be civil and Maeko didn't go running off when she saw her. Was that so much to ask.

She sniffled some, and sighed. She had to wonder if word had gotten around the school about this and if people hated her for it. No doubt, in her mind, they did. Crying wouldn't get her anywhere, but it felt better then ignoring the fact that she was in pain emotionally.

Placing the box beside her she took some deep breaths to relax and then laid on the bench to think. Maybe the warm light could give her some help. She closed her eyes, and drifted off to a light napping sleep.

"It is? To not have anyone to spend time with?" Misaki asked him quietly. "But what if Anna-nee passes on? I mean she's older then you are right?"

"that's not what I mean Seiji, look, didn't anyone ever offer to help you with your chorse before?" misaki turned to face him and looked at the book he was reading. "Isn't that choose your own adventures?"

"Oh I like books too, what kind are you into? So then where do you get your clothing?"

Something new entered Seiji's voice. It was nothing pleasant. "I don't need to worry about that. She won't."

He calmed quickly, though, and lost the shift key as quickly as he'd found it. "not really. i did them myself since dad left."

"i like books with ghosts and zombies and this one guy with really long fingers and a thread cutter who pulls out people's eyes and cuts away the eyestalk thing super-carefully and then feeds them to his daughter so she can see ghosts. and there's a wax museum in it, too."

"I..of course, she'll live a long life," Misaki said and paused, "You haven't seen your family in a long while Seiji?"

Misaki paled some, "Um...you...er...Seiji-kun, you know that's all fantasy right? I mean you wouldn't want to run into a monster like that in real life?" Or be one, Misaki fingered her shirt some as she looked at him.

"Why do you like reading those things?"

"i know she will for sure." Seiji thought. "i saw my uncle in spring before i came here."

"i guess. i think it would be kind of neat."

He thought. "becasue they're good"

"I have older sisters too, but they talk and, well one is very rude. But...I hope they are okay for the summer, one is staying in tokyo," Misaki told him. She raised her eyebrows. "What about your mom and dad?"

"Why though? I mean ghosts are interesting, but a monster is...it's not that fun. Especially if it's...it's going to hurt the people you care the most about," misaki said in a gloomy sort of tone.

"But why? I mean don't you ever like reading like, stories about knights, or dragons, or like happy stories?"

"i can't find them anymore." Seiji said, as if he were talking about losing a pen.

"it's okay. they never hurt snakes."

"not really. they're kind of boring."

"can't find them anymore? Where were they last?" Misaki asked.

"Ah, Seiji-kun, that's because most monster books focus on humans, not snakes so much. I mean there is a few monster snakes in some anime I've seen, but they're really scary and just want to eat people." Misaki explained and paused. "Not that youre Nee-chan would do that."

"Why do you think that? Have you ever read one?"

"they were probably on the mainland." Seiji said, not really giving it that much thought.

"it would be cool if she did." He gave far more thought to how cool it would be if Anna was big enough to eat that guy next door.

"i did. they're just not good."

"Well if they're on the mainland, why not call them and ask them to come here? I'm sure that they probably would want to know about the school and such and see you." Misaki said cheerfully.

Misaki made a slight face at this and shivered, "Yea, well then what would you feed her? I mean there are no mice that size."

She suddenly had the horrible thought of Seiji becoming an accessory to murder via being brainwashed by an alien snake and shook her head some to get the thought out.

"But why? haven't you ever wanted to be a hero?'

"i don't think they have phones." Seiji shrugged as he spoke.

"cows maybe. or bad people. like robbers and stuff."

"i don't think i'd be a very good hero."

How could they not? Misaki had to wonder what exactly he ment by that, "Why wouldn't they have a phone Seiji-kun?"

"Robbers?" Misaki inquired and blinked, "Has someone been botheing you?"

"I'm sure you could, you'd probably be the shy sort of hero." Misaki laughed.

"my dad forgot his phone and i don't think my mom would get very good reception right now."

"no but they're bad people. i heard someone broke into the place where Toshimi-senpai lived a while ago. it would be good if Anna-nee was big so she could eat them."

"heroes do good things. i don't think I could do heroey things."

"Um, why not?" She asked honestly.

"But what if someone else had a big snake too. You wouldn't want a Gorzilla attack on your hands would you?" Misaki laughed some.

"And why not? Being a hero can be hard, but at the same time it can be a reward." Misaki said softly.

"she lives under the ground. i think. she did when i last saw her."

"Anna-nee would always be bigger. she's the best."

"i'm just not very good at them."
