Who: Renju and Tom
What: Finally time for a talk
Where: Renju's dorm.
When: Shortly after she dumps Keiichi in Paradise
Why: Because Tom feels he needs to apologize.

Tom approached Renju's door with apprehension. He wanted to give her itme to sort out her feelings. Time when she wasn't forced at every turn to deal with Thomas Sagaki in some fashion. He looked at the door, hesitant to touch it. He stopped and coughed. He felt slightly warm, and couldn't tell if it was the worn down feeling he'd had since he'd been brought back from Paradise, or just fear of the door.

Finally, he couldn't put it off any longer. They did need to talk, and sort things out. He looked at the door, and cocked his head to the side. He paused for a moment, then he knocked on the door.

As there had been with Keiichi, there was at first a fairly lengthy silence on the other side of the door.

It seemed, however, that the Shadow had learned its lesson when it came to dealing with stubborn team members. Rather than wait until the disturbance became impossible to ignore, it unlocked the door and opened it a crack to peek through, its hair again obscuring its eyes. "What?" It somehow managed to sound, amazingly, more irritated than it had at first with Keiichi.

	Tom winced at her tone. It appeared that she was more upset than he had anticipated. Still, they needed to talk, before this got bad. "It's me Sonozaki-san. 	"There's nothing more to be said," it answered flatly. "That should be clear to you by now." And with that, it went to shut the door firmly. Sagaki would almost certainly be as hard to shake, if not harder, than Ito had been, but that didn't mean it wouldn't try the easy solution first. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Tom sighed, he didn't try to stop her from shutting the door, but he really did feel like they needed to talk. Tom wondered inwardly if Renju wasn't engaging in the same sort of running away he had been.

"Sonozaki-san, I really feel like... I need totalk to you about this. I feel like I should apologize, and we shouldn't just let this linger between us. Especially if we're going to be teammates."

Tom reached into his bag, and pulled free his new lock picking gun. Under any other circumstances, with anyone else, he might have been excited to try it, but now.

He slipped it into the door lock, and pulled the trigger a number of times, until the door clicked open. He stepped across the threshold into the room, and used his foot to slip the door close, and stared at the small girl on the other side.

"You called me Sagaki. Just Sagaki."

He crossed his arms.

"You're Renju's shadow."

At first, the door would have met with a surprising amount of resistance, with the Shadow leaning on it as it was. In the end, though, Tom was stronger, and it stumbled back as the door was at last pushed open.

It had recovered its footing by the time Tom entered, and stood firm, peering up through ragged bangs at the intruder. Once again, its eyes were shadowed; the lighting in the room was dim at best. "None of you ever listen." Its voice came out as a low, tense hiss, a near-whisper that matched its owner's tenuous control. "Leave. Now."

So Tom's first plan hadn't worked out. He had figured that accusing her of being a shadow would either get her to admit or deny it. He didn't have any concrete proof that she was, but if she wasn't then Renju was in worse shape then he had thought.

He looked at her and cocked his head to the side, letting out a simple

"No."

His eyes scanned the room, if she was a shadow, he didn't need to attack her, she wasn't endangering anyone else. She was isolated which was good.
He didn't need to demand she lead him to Renju, since finding her in Paradise wouldn't be impossible. But maybe he could get a clue as to what to expect going in.

Most of the room was empty, save a few boxes. And... cookies? That didn't fit with the rest of the room.
Why did Renju's shadow have cookies.

The Shadow advanced on Tom, its tiny hands clenched tight, but its expression still flat. It hadn't been stupid enough to expect a flat demand to work, but it seemed that that fact didn't make it any less frustrated. It wouldn't come down to any less than a fight. Again. These people...

"You're getting one last warning, as Ito did. Leave now, or the matter will be forced."

	Tom took another step closer, and stared down at her with a scowl. "Is he still alive?" She seemed unwilling to back down, which meant that they were close. In fact Tom hadn't been this close to her since they were training. And he tried not to be overwhelmed by it and the feelings he'd tried to give up on. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

The Shadow wasn't stupid. It knew Sagaki, and knew that he could be clever. Its movements were calculated, quick and darting, again using its size to its advantage against the much taller older student.

Rather than drag him through the dorm room door, as it had Ito, it went for the nearby closet, which was also empty--its former contents filled the box that Keiichi hadn't rummaged through on his visit. The door was yanked open the moment the Shadow got an opening, and at that point it gave up on all pretense of subtlety in order to get Sagaki through.

The scuffle that followed was, perhaps surprisingly, rather short. This may have been because of the Shadow's unwillingness to hold back; more likely it was because of Tom's only token resistance. Whatever the reason, both tumbled into Paradise, and, for the time being, only the Shadow emerged.
