ZOMBIES. Kinda.
Who: Toru and Yoshimi. Other people if they ~~~feel like it~~~
What: Left 2 More Zombies
Where: Downtown Iburi
When: A postdungeon Sunday.
Why: Co-op gameplay, zombies, and a mysterious bruise.

Once in blue moon, Toru would buy an American game. It was unusual for him, as he had issues with the general American design aesthetic. However, if there was a game so good that both sides of the Pacific were talking about it, he'd make his way over to the nearest game shop in order to test the hype. This was one of those times. Left 2 More Zombies, the sequel to the extremely popular Left 2 the Zombies, had just been released. Such an opportunity for cooperative gaming and online competitions was hardly to be passed by. Plus, the series was considerably less popular in Japan than in America, which meant that Toru didn't have to camp overnight to buy it or anything.

Having bought the game, he now idly window-shopped, wondering if there were any interesting figures or DVDs that he had missed the release of lately.

"—get to blow things up?"

Yoshimi glanced up from rifling through her own shopping bag, then did a double-take at the scene before her. Misaki? Gushing at Toru about the virtues of explosions?

Must investigate further.

"Aoi-san, hi!" she chirped, smiling brightly. "And Ishinomori-kun, hey! Are you two out shopping together?" Why they would be, she had no idea, but every investigation had to start somewhere.

"Well, y-yeah, you can blow zombies up-" Toru found himself interrupted again, this time by Yoshimi. It was surprising that so many of his classmates would pounce upon him as soon as he went out to buy a single game. Perhaps even a little bit intimidating. On the other hand, he couldn't ask for two nicer people.

"O-oh! Hi, Yoshimi-san!" he replied, smiling a slightly-less-bright grin in return. "I-I was just at the game store... er, Left 2 More Zombies just came out. A-and then I ran into Misaki-san... she was just asking me about the game...." Being around both of them at once, though pleasant, was still a little disconcerting for the shy otaku.

"Yoshimi-chan, Hello! How are you, and no we weren't. Though Toru-kun got one of the games I was going to buy, but right now I need to conserve money." She smiled at yoshimi and grinned.

"Isn't this a co-op game Toru-kun?" She was really looking forward to playing that game with a group, and who better then Toru and Yoshimi. Both were sweet, and she was sure that neither were going to be jerks about mistakes the same way some of the guys at the arcade were. Maybe they could hang out and play?

"Oh, hey, I was just heading there next!" Between the class otaku and the bubblegum princess, Yoshimi saw no reason not to own up to it. "I should probably be responsible and save up, same as Aoi-san, but you're only young once, you know? And the last one was really good." Besides, using part of her allowance on the new L2Z instead of another night spent candyflipping was comparatively responsible, right?

"It's co-op, yeah, so..." Yoshimi eyed her companions thoughtfully. She didn't need anyone to play with; she'd be perfectly happy with randoms or the AI partners, but she'd played the first one with a friend. Well, boyfriend. Ex-boyfriend. Currently indisposed person.

The point was that she was used to having someone to chat with while blasting hordes of the undead, and she was going to need to find a new someone.

"Should we all trade contact info? We could play together."

"Um... uh. We could... certainly- y-yeah, contact info."

Though he wasn't going to say anything to the girls, Toru had been expecting to play anonymously online with people he'd never see again, or just with AI partners. Nobody he'd need to talk to in person. But as luck had it, he was trapped in a social situation. He hated those.

To distract himself, he opened his bag again to dig around for a pen and paper. "I'll get something we can write down our online handles on, how does that sound?" As he pawed at his pen near the bag's bottom without actually grabbing it, Toru tried to inch away from the others to gain a little of his personal space bubble back.

"Oh, good idea!" Yoshimi held her position, eyeing Misaki instead. She hadn't taken the PA hijacker for the type to have much in common with her, but maybe they could be friends after all. Just maybe. "My Hydrant tag is Revelation! at the Disco - I'll have to write it in, it's got symbols and stuff."

She smiled lightly and bounced on her tiptoes a little. It was nice, meeting new people, even if they were an airhead and a guy who looked like he was expecting her to bite him. Her prescription for the latter was more small talk.

"Hey, do you main a favorite weapon? I'm looking to switch it up," because nothing inspired a change quite so much as one's co-op partner dying, "so it'll be good to know what I'm teaming up with."
