Entry tags:maeko, renju

Who: Maeko, Renju
What: CONCERN FOR MIDGETS, ATTEMPT #2
Where: Dorms
When: Post-dungeon
Why: Because the last attempt didn't work and Maeko is nothing if not persistant. Persistant and angry.

Maeko should not be apologising on her boyfriend's behalf. He could do it for himself. This had nothing to do with her. It was his problem.

And yet here she was.

She'd shown up later than she normally might have, after her shift at work, because she heard Renju attended cram school. She knocked on the door quietly and waited for an answer.

Maeko nodded slowly.

"I'm sorry. Senpai shouldn't have said any of those things. I shouldn't have allowed him to..." She paused. "Are you okay? Misa-chan was worried..."

She knew it. "You don't need to apologize for him." There was that slight shift in her expression again, but it was gone almost as quickly as it had come. The less she thought about Kanaye, the happier she'd be.

The mention of Misaki elicited a frown and a stifled sigh, though. "Tell her I'm fine." There was that mantra from the dungeon again.

Maeko nodded again, slightly discouraged but unwilling to give up. She owed Renju still.

"I will. I'll be leaving the dorms for a while but if you need anything please call me. Even if it's the break right now I shouldn't allow any of my classmates to go without help if they need it. It would be irresponsible."

It was possible Maeko took the position of class rep a little too seriously recently when she'd mostly ignored it before that place.

Maeko, too? People seemed to keep offering their help. As if she needed it. It was just a memory--an unpleasant, awkward one, but still just a memory.

"I appreciate your offer." As politely as Renju normally spoke, this was a little more so than usual, a bit too formal for clubmates or friendly acquaintances, and certainly more so than she'd previously been with Maeko.

Maeko didn't really have much more to say. Renju was almost as exhauting to converse with as Kou was.

"That's all, then. Sorry for bothering you."
