Who: Kanaye and Maeko
What: Random date
Where: Random anpan place. Or something.
When: Before Tom's dungeon.
Why: I like threads.

Kanaye was waiting outside the restaurant happily. He did everything happily when it came to Maeko. He'd probably cry happily. Well, depending on why he was crying. If he was crying because she said she loved him when he was in a bad spot, he'd be happy. If he was crying because she broke up with him, he probably wouldn't be very happy.

Kanaye STILL wasn't sure why Maeko dated him, even with that spectacle at the party. For one, he was a complete and utter asshole to her best friend, not that she doesn't deserve it. For two, he was an alcoholic. He wouldn't sell her out for ANYTHING, but he'd probably come rather close. And finally, Kanaye didn't know why Maeko actually loved him. He was clingy, he was obsessive...

Not that he'd talk about these worries to her. He didn't want to give her a justification she didn't already have for dumping him. He smiled and waited.

	Kanaye laughed. "You act as if I WANT to get hurt." The anpan arrived. Kanaye smiled at the waiter and bit into it. Still mediocre. Still need to pretend it's god's gift to earth. "Excellent!" (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Kanaye looked at the anpan with a dazed expression on his face. When he responded, his voice was hollow and monotone. "Of course. Everything I do is entirely my fault. The only reason I get hurt is because I want to get hurt. Glad to see you see it my way, Maeko-chan." Kanaye bit into his anpan with an expression of boredness. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Even Maeko couldn't miss the change in tone there. "I-it was-..." She trailed off, shaking her head. Because she didn't quite know where 'explaining oneself' finished and 'excuses' began she chose to avoid both. "-sorry, that wasn't funny. I won't do it again. Are you okay?" 	"Sorry-" Maeko mumbled again, nodding quietly and taking another bite of anpan to give herself time to think of anything at all else to say. And reminding herself that jokes were bad. 	"Not your fault..." Kanaye mumbled in response, picking up the anpan and eating it somewhat slower. In an attempt to strike up conversation, Kanaye decided to bring up something he thought was safe. "Um, Maeko-chan...I'm...I...Why do you go out with me?" Kanaye's definition of "safe" is vastly different from the rest of the world. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)
