Mission Impossible...Possibly
Who: Misaki and anyone who wants to join in.
What: Grave Robb...er...Treasure hunting
Where: The middle of the Track at Namaka
When: Very very late in the evening like 1 or 2 in the morning
Why: Because Misaki wants her treasure BACK NOW Please.

Misaki pulled on the black hoodie over her black tank top and secured the zipper. She yanked up the calf high leather boots that she had gotten two winters ago, and then attached to her waist a black belt holding a flash light, an old map that was half missing and faded, her cellphone and a small garden shovel. She yanked on a pair of black gloves, pulled up the hoodie and tied it then wrapped a scarf around her mouth. She was a ninja, swift, strong, hidden in the shadows, boldly going where no one had dared to go before...or at least in the past ten years or so.

She'd waited till Maeko was fast asleep before pushing up the window carefully and dropping down out onto the ground. Walking a few feet away she ducked behind a tree and quickly sent out a text to everyone, save Maeko, and waited to see who would reply. It was pretty much a school wide text to anyone she had ever called that went to the school.

"Extra Extra! Important News! A Treasure Hunt! If you wish to help and dig up something important and rare, meet me by the old 'hang mans' tree in the south quad of the school. That would be the tree with the weird hanging leaves and stuff. Misaki."

She hurried there and waited to see who would show up.

On one hand, it Misaki. Kanaye wouldn't really help Misaki if he had any choice in the matter. Granted, he usually didn't, but Maeko didn't know about this. So why was he helping? There are many reasons. One of them is he wants to stay on Misaki's relative good side, and thus Maeko's. Another is that he wanted to break school rules.

But the biggest reason for doing this was that Kanaye wanted to have an excuse to stay up really late. He had been drinking, but he wasn't very drunk. He was kind of slow right now, true, but that was about it.

He stood underneath the tree, dressed in casual clothes. In other words, a bright orange jumpsuit. He waved at Misaki, heaving a shovel up to his shoulder. "Yo~ Misaki-san!" he yelled.

Misaki pulled down her scarf and hood and hissed out, "Shhhhhhh! Are you trying to wake people up! Hush."

She waved him over and raised her eye brow some. "Why are you dressed like Inari anyway? Trying to stick out? I thought you were the one that suggested the ninja thing in the first place."

Misaki sniffed him a little, then sighed, "Sempai you have to stop all this drinking. It's not healthy for you."

Kanaye laughed. It was loud, naturally. "We're in the middle of the freaking track field. We are nowhere near anybody that could be waken up. Calm down. Misaki-san!" he said, smirking. "I don't know, why are you dressing like a criminal? Then again, I guess digging up someone else's property is criminal."

Kanaye laughed again. "Yeah, but STOPPING would be even worse. Alcohol withdrawal is HORRIBLE." he said proudly.

Seiji didn't really look like a very good ninja, what with the reflective yellow vest he was wearing so traffic could see him. He'd seen a particularly effective road safety commercial a few days ago and hadn't slept soundly since.

He did, however, sound exactly like a ninja. He moved though the grass like a ghost, somehow not making any sound at all.

"...u-um. i showed up."

"I am not a criminal I'm a ninja, you pegged me as one remember. Besides I don't want to be seen, and it's not other people's property it's..." she was saying when Seiji walked over and commented. Misaki wasn't prepareed for this, and thus found herself yelping like a scared kid on halloween and jumping in the air.

Turning fast she was ready to glare at the person who had come up behind them, but then calmed when she saw it was Seiji. "OH...Seiji-kun! You scared me! But I'm glad you're here."

She looked him over and sighed, "I forgot to tell you to bring a shovel didn't I."

Kanaye shook his head. "Honestly, Misaki-san, don't you know anything? This is a private school, someone owns these grounds. It's someone else's property." he lectured before laughing and smiling at Seiji. "Good job, Snake-kun!" he shouted.

Yoshimi was, for once, up after midnight for reasons not relating to underage binge drinking — that could wait until next week, after exams were over. Tonight, she'd planned to cram for science (stupid dead researches and their stupid formulas and their stupid experiments), but the problem with science? It was boring, and boredom did not appeal to Yoshimi. Life was too short to waste on boring things.

A treasure hunt, though? Now that was the kind of thing that sounded worth her while. Grinning, she'd thrown some proper clothes on, dragged her snow shovel out from behind the winter coats (Can't hurt to bring my own, right? It could be a race to find the treasure!), and sprinted out the door within two minutes of receiving Misaki's text.

So it was that she ended up under the specified tree, next to two of her teammates and... that one quiet guy from her homeroom. What was his name again? Oh well.

"Hi guys!" She bounced up on her tiptoes, trying to see if there was anyone else around. "So what're we looking for?"

Kanaye noticed Yoshimi and waved. "Yoshi-san! HELLO!" he shouted happily, running towards her and almost tripping. "We're going to do something ILLEGAL! YAY! We're going to dig up private property in order to find something that Misaki put in here years ago. We aren't even sure if it's actually still here, and we're going to get in trouble if we get found out. It'll be A BLAST!" he shouted, raising his arms in the air and turning to Misaki. "So, Misaki-san! Where to first!"

"illegal? doesn't that...d-doesn't that make it bad to do?" Seiji worried aloud, shuffling his feet awkwardly. It would be bad to do something that it was against the law. But it was also bad to not help a girl if then needed help! He was conflicted.

"If we even get far..." she mumbled wishing she had Tom there to act as the equimpment guy.

"Well if you can come over here Sempai I can show you what I have." She pulled out the remains of the map, faded and drawn in crayon. There were scribbles to make it look like some weird Fairy tale like place. Misaki pointed as she spoke.

"Hi Yoshi-chan. Alright so," She pointed to a castle. "This is the school. We are roughly around here," she motioned to the courtyard. "And we have to go around the swiming pool," a rather strangely drawn moat, "Go around the fence," which was representsed by a huge wall of bricks with flying arrows, "And cross over the feild over there." Misaki moitioned to a large area that had several ogers and trolls.

She sighed some, "The problem is that the other half of the map was ruined some years ago, so...Yeah I don't know where it is on the feild."

Kanaye walked over and looked at the map. He blinked. He laughed. "Wow. Just...wow." he said, shaking his head and laughing. "Just so you know, Misaki-san, if we get in trouble, I'm going to make sure everyone knows its your idea we're defacing private property." he said quickly.

Kanaye yawned and stared at Misaki. "Let's get going, Misaki-san. It's 2 in the morning, and I don't really care, but I do need SOME sleep, shockingly enough."

"y-yeah. we should be quick, it's a strange time. there might be bad spirits..."

Seiji had menaged to terrify himself into silence by bringing that up. He whimpered quietly. People had actually died at the school, after all. The more he thought about it the less he wanted to be here.

Misaki waved it off, "Fine fine." She quickly sent out a fast text.

"There, Okay so, teams. Um...Kanaye Kun with Yoshimi-chan and Seiji can stay with me. First one to find it gets to keep at least one thing out of the box. Did I mention there's money in there?"

Kozue came jogging down from the dorms, having slipped most of her school uniform back on. She'd ignored Misaki's first text message—a treasure hunt? Oh, who cared, it was the middle of the night and she was procrastinating from studying—but the second one had piqued her interest.

And not for the reasons you'd expect either. Mostly, it was because believing that Misaki had actually turned her 'treasure' hunt into a genuine quest to get laid was just ridiculous, but obviously something was up. And Kozue knew she'd be too bothered to sleep until she knew what it was. So, arriving at the school, she started looking around for the pink-haired girl and any accomplices who'd actually answered that mass text.

Curiosity killed the cat.

Kanaye, having finished his own drunken text, looked up at Kozue and waved. "Kozue-san! Over here! Misaki's doing something illegal! It's GREAT!" he yelled happily. "We're going to break school rules because she buried something here, and now she wants it so she can give it to Maeko-chan! I don't know what it is, Misaki's mean and won't tell me. I'm dissapointed!" he yelled.

Kanaye was as subtle as his outfit when it comes to illegality. Or at least, when it comes to bad things happening to Misaki.

If Misaki could find the energy to face palm just then she would, "Ah...Kozue-chan, glad you made it. Um...well I was just explaining to everyone that we need to find that box quickly. There's a reason for it, seriously."

She hurried over by Kozue and grabbed her hands, "Please please please please please. Can you please help with this! I'll do your homework for you."

"Okay, illegal," Kozue said, blinking slightly. "But not like… prostitution or anything." She glanced around. Nothing even remotely like a treasure box full of penises or…whatever Misaki had meant in that message. "Digging? This doesn't sound much like your text message at all, Misaki-chan."

She sighed. "But I can't turn an offer down if you're agreeing to do my homework. I'll help."

Kanaye walked over to them, reading Maeko's texts. "You know, Misaki-san," he said happily, "I know that Maeko didn't mean it when she said that you were manipulating her, but sometimes?" Kanaye smiled. "I'm not sure if that's a lie."

Kanaye put his cell phone away. "Oh, yeah, Maeko-chan says that digging up the school grounds is against the rules. Considering you are her best friend, won't it reflect badly on her if you do so?" he asked, smiling.

"Ah..about that. I sort of um...pulled off what my sister Shizuka had said to do once. I'm sorry! I won't do it again. It's just that I need as many as I can to find this. I lost the last half of my map and well I don't know where it is!"

If Kanaye had glasses, he would have lowered them to look at Misaki with disdain. He didn't, but he tried to anyway, resulting in him stabbing himself in the eye with his finger. He winced and started blinking. "Misaki-san, I'll try to be as nice as we can. Right now, it's..." Kanaye took out his cell phone, checking the time. "1:30 in the morning. School starts in 6 hours. We have 6 hours to dig up a field, find whatever you are looking for, and then put all the dirt back in. Ignoring the fact that putting the dirt back in doesn't' really work, we have 5 people and I'm drunk. And we have no idea where it is."

Kanaye facepalmed. "I'm only helping because I want to see what you are going to give Maeko-chan. I will deny involvement if we get caught. I shall say you blackmailed me."

"Oh, I hope we don't get yelled at..." This was by no means the first time that Yoshimi had ended up doing something illegal at 2 AM, and it was quite unlikely to be the last, but she'd developed something of a gift for not getting busted. It'd be a shame to end up in trouble for something so minor.

"And I'm about...ten inches shorter?" Just six, actually, but Yoshimi had never been good at judging distances.

Misaki glared at Kanaye, "Not helpful sempai. So then...Yoshimi's closer to how tall my brother was at the time."

She headed down towards the track saying to Yoshimi as she walked, "When we got to the track he stood at the inner edge and counted out paces. He was roughly six one or so at the time. So if we can take Yoshi-chan's steps and measure a few more centimenters, we can estimate where it is, dig it up and you guys get the reward from in it."

Misaki wondered if everything in there would be in good, or at least decent condition. "I wish we had one of those, you know, coin finder devices. Maybe something metal in it would pick up."

Kozue had tuned out the math. Since she was even shorter than Seiji, well, she really didn't need to pay attention. And it reminded her too much of the studying she wasn't going to do.

At Misaki's claim of being 'not manipulative', Kozue just dug her hands into her blazer pockets and shrugged—waiting to catch Kanaye's eye when Misaki wasn't looking, and making a yeah, you called it face.

"We could call him? Uh. Or just start looking." She looked out across the field and frowned. Just digging would take a loooong time.

"He's out with his fiance," Misaki sighed and looked down then marked a spot. "There...that's where he started and he counted twenty steps. So," she looked at Kanaye, "Can you pace that out please."

She rubbed her arms, she needed to get that list. If she sent them all away now..."Please, I know this seems bad. I just...there's something important in that box to me. And no it's not the thing for Maeko. It's...private, and I really need to get it back before it deteriates. You guys can have whatever else is in the box if you want. Kanaye shrugged and started walking twenty steps. They weren't even steps, but that wasn't from him trying to annoy Misaki. It was simply because of the fact his blood-alcohol content was above the legal limit in most states. Really.

Once reaching what he thought was the destination, he took his shovel and started digging. He sighed. "Misaki-san, I just want you to know that I spent 200 dollars on alcohol this week. And if it was really private, why don't you just do it yourself? And not, I don't know, ask everyone you know while being manipulative in order to get people to come out? Really, this seems rather selfish of you." he managed to say before he smacked himself in the face with a shovel. He glared at it.

"Ah...Kozue-chan would you look out for us. Just so that the security doesn't come." Misaki glanced at the others. "Yoshimi-chan, how are you about dirt? Seiji-kun could you please put your shovel right here." she motioned to a spot just above the hole.

Seiji rarely needed telling to run away. Especially when there was being yelled at and possibly ghosts as potential dangers. He looked back after a few seconds of demonstrating the running speed that was the only thing he really had going for him in baseball to make sure everyone else had also run. But flashlights. And run run run run run run. All the while regretting the flourescent vest.

Misaki had fallen backwards and crashed into the hole. Wincing some she looked up to see the officers standing there. Lights over her and looking at the box.

"Alright Aoi-san, get up," said the older man as he offered her his hand. Misaki slowly took it, still holding the box. She glanced around to see if anyone was still there. The guards looked genuinely disappointed. "Lets see what's in the case."

"It's nothing imporant," Misaki said softly and the guard gently lifted it from her arms. Misaki looked at her feet. All this trying to find things that made her happy and now...she was in deep trouble.

The guard opened the lid and found several items inside: A pen knife that was slightly rusty, some old trading cards from a children's card game, a strange little blue bear squeaky toy dressed in red, four mangas that were first editions of a now famous artist back when they were still very new, a set of deteriating crayons, two hundred dollars worth of yen, random coins from all over the world, a caculator, a deflated balloon, a bottle cap, some stamps, a yo-yo.

Misaki had managed in the confusion to slip out two yellowing envelopes out of the box and put them into her pocket. They were the most imporant items in that box and were the things that she needed. The first was a list that she wanted to look over the second was a necklace that she had bought when she was six.

The second guard put his hand on her shoulder. "Come on Aoi-san, we're going to take you back to your dorm. We're calling your mother, this is your thrid offense, you know this right."

Misaki blinked, "Third...but...how?"

"The first was the hair, the school just let that one slide, the second was the PA, that one landed you in detention. This one, you may get a weeks worth of detention and some other serious things placed on you." the guard explained as his partner added.

"Vandalism is a crime, you know."

Misaki looked down, at least the others got away, and now she at least had the things that she wanted. The box, she knew would be taken but eventually, hopfully, returned. In the mean while she could at least work out what to tell her mother when the inneviatable happened.
