Who: Misaki, (Tomako by defult), Emi, and open
What: Chance meeting at the school since Misaki's picking up her poor little brother.
Where: At the Middle school
When: After school clearly
Why: Because Misaki is the scary awesome.

Misaki waited outside the gates of the middle school watching as the students walked out. She searched the crowed for her younger brother, and smiled. Tomako, even though he tried to act cool, was always there for her. Inspite of every insult he threw at her at times, he would always defend her the moment someone tried to intimidate her. She knew that he liked to keep her safe but she worried that he was too protective of her. Watching the crowds Misaki soon spotted the boy who was just a bit taller then her. Tomako was good looking, with black hair that he kept mid lenght and covering one eye. He was the opposite to the bubbling older sister.

She waved fondly at the boy who covered his face some what and groaned. Giggling she hurried over and glomped on him. "Otoutokun! Yay you're out of school."

Tomako blushed deeply and tried to push her off, "Saki-niichan, Please...stop. You're embaressing me."

She giggled, "Hee, I can't help it. You're too cute."

He sighed, "I am not. I'm handsome. Boys are not cute."

Of course. He was bound to bring the grade thing up. That was inevitable. However, Emi had already thought of the appropriate response to the statement. "Sorry, I just don't have some weird obsession with dead people like you do. I prefer subjects that actually matter."

Then before she could say any more her anger turned into a weird mix of disbelief and confusion for a brief moment. His sister was congratulating her? Even after what Tomako had just said? And she was congratulating her for getting a B? Was this weird girl kidding or just stupid? Either way, Emi couldn't help but feel insulted still. "Oh, ha ha," she said with a hmpf as she crossed her arms. "Don't choke on anything. That'd be tragic."

"Choke...on...anything?" Misaki looked confused but smiled still. "We'll I'll certainly eat slower. Thank you for the warning."

Tomako sighed, why did his sister always have to be so innocent at times. She took insults as compliments and warnings. He rubbed his head as she went on.

"Well it's true that Tomako-otouto does like history, and while it can be dull at times..." Misaki said and Tomako barked in with a, 'Hey!', she giggled some and went on. "But getting a B is really good! It shows that you studied a lot and that you care about the subject you like to get a better grade next time. I'm sure you'll do it."

Tomako sniffed some and put his hands on his hips, rolling his eyes, "Please. She's such a perfectionist that even if she got a straight A she would complain that she picked the wrong word for a sentence or that her gramer structure wasn't right, or her penmanship was wobbly, which it is, because sometimes it looks like you're trying to write the word 'D-U-C-K' in english, it comes out looking more like...MMMPH!"

"Have a onigiri Otouto!" Misaki shoved the food in his mouth before he could finish his sentence, making the poor boy gag and choke on his word...litteraly.

That settled it. Tomako's sister must've been a real ditz. She didn't seem to understand that Emi wasn't trying to be nice to her. Not to mention her encouraging words weren't really very encouraging. She at least agreed that history was dull, but the younger girl frowned at the comment. It showed she studied a lot? That's like saying she could only get a B with lots of studying! However, even though she wouldn't dare admit to it, there was truth to be found in both what Tomako started going on about afterwards.

Emi merely rolled his eyes at his comment. That was the pot calling the kettle black! And her handwriting wasn't nearly as wobbly as his sister's brain must've been. She was about to point that out after he finished rambling, but she paused before opening her mouth. Didn't she just say to not choke? Granted, she was being generally unkind and didn't really mean it literally, but to then randomly shove food into someone's mouth... Where did that even come from?! She would've almost felt pity for him if she was nice enough, but she wasn't.

So, instead she just stood there and watched him gag before looking up at Misaki. She wanted to ask the girl if she had all of her marbles upstairs, but settled for another. "Are you two always this pathetic?"

Tomako coughed, "No she's trying to keep me from using 'bad' language. Though I say the word in school you know Saki-neechan!" He glared at Emi. "And don't go saying my sister is pathetic. If anyone is it's you Hayashi. All you ever do is bitch about how bad everyone is in their work, at least we're having fun. All you ever do is worry about being miss perfect!"

"Tomako! Stop, please it's okay." Misaki said quietly and shook her head. She was used to insults, she'd just keep them out of her mind. Smiling she looked at Emi and chuckled, "Sorry if I upset you, but really if you think about it, getting a B is better then getting an A. A means you have nothing more to learn, a B means that you have more to understand and that's a good thing. But getting an A on something is nice too."

"Oh, right, because your vocabulary isn't refined enough to use anything better. And I really don't see how me being better is pathetic!" So what if she did worry about being perfect? Just because no one else ever had a chance at coming close didn't mean that she couldn't try to be better! "You really don't have room to talk either, you know! What if you had gotten a B?" Emi questioned before she wrinkled her nose at Misaki's much nicer comment that followed. The apology was nice, but the girl really needed to quit with the comforting crap. It really wasn't working.

"That logic would be great if I weren't only in the seventh grade with a lot more to learn as it is," she replied in an almost cynical tone. "I'd rather get an A now to prove I knew everything I was supposed to learn before I moved on."

"But...I don't think anyone can learn everything. There's so much happening out there that..." she paused and shook her head smiling. "Proving yourself can be good and all, but I guess...I don't know, I always just liked being glad I did my best even if I didn't get a perfect score."

Tomako snorted, "Yeah her perfect score has to be a hundred plus. Anything less then a one followed by two zeros and she bitches her head off. Sort of like Oneesan. But that's beside the point, even if I had gotten a B which I didn't, I would have just studied and revised for my next test. Simple as that, and I'd do better, rather then moping like some priss that got a stick stuck up the wrong side. Maybe if you pulled it out once in a while, people would seriously like you."
