Entry tags:kanaye, masami, misaki, tom

Who: Tom/Open
What: Tom is studying
When: Sometime when there isn't classes
Where: Butterfly Room
Why: Tom wants to learn about the Shadows

Anyone approaching the Butterfly Room would hear the oddest things, music, in specific the song The Way You Look Tonight
by Frank Sinatra coming from the old phonograph.

Tom sat at a table swaying slightly to the music. A notebook sat in front of him, and he wore a pair of glasses, he was watching the two hand shadows. Every once in awhile he would give a suggestion, and then write down what the shadows did.

Though the kendo tournament was now less than a week away, Masami was skipping out on practice once again thanks to the Dynamic Duo of hot-blooded idiots. She figured the Butterfly Room would be a perfect place to hide for the time being.

Upon entering, Masami was greeted immediately by a foreign song which she neither knew nor understood. Also, Tom was there, apparently studying the two hand shadows that had become the team's pets after Maeko's dungeon.

"Sagaki-senpai... how are you?"

Misaki took a breath before heading into the butterfly room. She glanced around and, seeing Masami, paused a moment before walking over to the hands. Smiling brightly she patted them on their heads, or what equated for their heads. She was going to wait till Tom was done talking to the other girl before she spoke with him.

"And hello to you too. How are you?" She said pleasently.

Tom looked over, and as the girls entered. He stood up and walked over to the old phonograph and lifted the needle. Apparently Tom had been playing an actual record.

He turned back to the other two and nodded.

"Sakuraba, Aoi. Afternoon. I was just taking the opportunity to try and study the shadows we had at our disposal. If you were hoping to use the room I can head back to my dorm."

Kanaye was trying to find a safe place to drink and to stash his alcohol when it occurred to him that no one that cared could get into the butterfly room. He wasn't positive that no one would take any of it for their own purposes, but he could always buy more.

He was rather shocked when the butterfly room turned out to be occupied, and even more so when Misaki happened to be an occupant. He forced a smile, making it seem natural through years of practice. "Misaki-san, Tom-san, Masami-san. Surprised to see you guys here." he remarked, walking over to a corner and putting down most his alcohol. Most of it consisted of sake, but there was also a six pack of beer. He opened one of the cans and chugged it down. "Any of you want some?" he asked.

"Ah...no thank you Sempai, I really don't like the taste of it," she honestly told him. Had this been the old Misaki she would have acted like she really didn't understand why he was offering it to her. But the past was the past.

"I...I really don't think it's such a good idea," she motions to the hands who seem to wander over to see what he's doing and the left picks up one and starts to shake an examin it. "What if they...well do what they're doing now. They're very inquisitive you know."

She glanced at Tom and smiles, "Actually Sempai I came in here hoping to find you. Someone said you had wandered off and I looked around and thought if you weren't in the school you were here."

Kanaye glared at the hands. "No. Bad hands." he told them sternly. Dejected, they moved away towards Misaki. Following them with his gaze, he shrugged and took another drink. "Your loss. If you want me to get you anything, go ahead. I don't think the owners care so long as they get paid, really."

Kanaye had to chug the rest of the can to avoid spitting it out at Misaki's words. Coughing, he unthinkingly grabbed the can that the shadow was shaking. "What do you need him for?" Kanaye asked, opening the can and glaring at it as the beer got all over him. "If you were just trying to find him, why?"

Tom looked at the shadows.

"They aren't actively dangerous, nor are they plotting to catch us unawares. Their intelligence... I'm still working on."

Tom shook his head when the alcohol was offered to him. '

"I prefer to not wander around like an idiot."

Finally he turned back to Misaki.

"I was looking for a place to be alone."

Tom hesitated as he looked at the group, then shrugged.

Misaki rolled her eyes some and sighed giving them both affectionate pats. "My loss your gain then. If I have to drink anything it would be wine sempai, but I don't usually since it's not really something that I like to associate all that much with."

She covered her mouth laughing at the sight of Kanaye covered in Beer, "Well you're going to need a shower now Sempai." Turning to face Tom she quickly added. "Well I'm sorry to disturb you, but I wanted your help in retreving something Sempai."

Kanaye scoffed. "Once again, Tom-san, your loss. Wandering around like an idiot is FUN. You should try it sometime."

Kanaye's ears perked up. "Wine? I can get some wine for you if you want. I'm looking for some decent western wine, but it's so damn hard to actually find it..." he sighed. "Speaking of which, do you know if Maeko-chan drinks? I'd ask her, but I don't want to insult her if she's a teetotaler or something."

Kanaye smirked and posed. Might as well make the best of it. "Why, though? I smell like alcohol anyway, and I look damn good wet." His ears perked. "I could help, Misaki-san. And I'm sure Keiichi-san and Maeko-chan would want to help."

"I... don't think I want to try getting drunk," Masami said, "but maybe I'll try a sip of sake. I remember hearing it said that it's a real shame to die without having ever tried good sake..." She had also heard it said that alcohol brought out a person's true feelings, and of course, Masami didn't want those ever coming out, but she figured a little sip, just enough for her to get a grasp of the flavor, wouldn't hurt. Hopefully.

"What do you need help retrieving, Aoi-san?" If she was asking Tom, it was probably something important to her.

Though Tom reassured her that the shadows were't dangerous, she watched them the whole time, still not quite sure what to make of them.

Tom looked at Misaki, and raised an eyebrow. He slipped the glasses his face.

"What's the nature of the mission?"

"Well," Misaki started off. She had hoped for it just to be Tom but, it seemed that wasn't possible now.

Folding her hands she made the shape of a box, "It's a box, buried in the ground, on the track feild. My brother and I buried it ten years ago when I was six. There's things in there I want to get, but..." she paused some and licked her lips, "I don't know the exact location. All I can remember was that we dug a hole in the center feild where the track goes around. So it could be any where within that space."

Misaki glanced at Kanaye, "No I have wine at home if I really want it, but it reminds me too much of my mother's parties at the college so, no thank you. But I can recomend a place for it if you want Sempai." She also bit her lip, "I don't want Maeko-chan seeing something in there. I have to give that to her, its not the most important thing but...it's something I think she would like."

She didn't want to say what the most important thing was.

Kanaye blinked. That...was interesting. Oh well. Getting into the good graces of your girlfriend's best friend was always good. "Well then," Kanaye remarked happily. "I'll happily help you. When should I be there? Should I bring my own shovel? And what don't you want Maeko-chan to see?"

"That is not any of your business Sempai. I'd rather not say what it is right now," Misaki told him tactfully. "It's something private, and I wish it to stay that way."

She smiled gently though, "Alright, but we're going to need Sagaki-sempai's help. I don't want to go digging up the whol field and then get in trouble with the school."

Kanaye shrugged. "If you insist, Misaki-san. I'm going to be there when you dig it up anyway, and it's not like I'll tell Maeko-chan, but if you really think so, go ahead."

Kanaye smirked. "And how is Tom-san going to help with that? I, for one, would relish the chance of digging up the whole field."

"He's probably got items that could help. Like one of those underground locater items. Not a metal detector, the box isn't metal, but something that sort of x-rays the ground to show what's under there?" Misaki suggested and then sighed.

"You tell her and I'll sneak into your house and cut your hair short Kanaye-semapi." Misaki said simply.

Tom put a finger to his chin.

"Hmmm... that might be difficult to get a hold, but I can make arrangements."

He seemed to think for a moment.

"Yeah, I think I can do it."

"Really?! Oh thank you so much Sagaki-sempai!" Misaki grinned happily. "You have no idea how glad I am that you said that."

She smiled at him, "I'm sure you'll be able to find it. You're always managing to figure out things Sempai."

Kanaye smiled. Not only did he not even live in his house anymore, but... "Oh, that would be a wonderful thing, Misaki-san! I mean, if you could sneak past the armed guards who are trained to detect people that attract attention, i.e. people with bright pink hair, and get pas the security alarms that are designed to detect people, i.e. you, and manage to escape detection by my servants, you'd have to break into my room. If you manage to do that, I'll just cut my hair yourself. You are obviously some kind of ninja master. Now then, what do you not want Maeko-chan to see?"

She bristled, "And again that's not any of your business."

Tom looked toward Kanaye.

"Aren't you living in the dorms now Satou? Plus doesn't Akuba work at your families house?"

He shrugged.

"Alternately, given how much you've started drinking, the likelihood of finding you passed out some where has increased."

Tom shrugged.

Kanaye sighed. "Yeah, but it's not like Misaki-san knew that. Oh well, I wasn't exactly trying to hide it." Kanaye said, turning to Misaki. "So now you just have to get into the boys dorm, figure out which room I'm in, and hope that I'm in there and sleeping. Oh, and get past my room mate." he finished.

Kanaye smirked and laughed. "STARTED drinking? I'm just better at hiding this, Tom-san. I've been drinking since middle school." he said proudly.

Misaki regaining his attention, he smirked. "Well, she's my girlfriend. It's close to my business, at least."

"She's working at your home? Since when?" Misaki asked suprised by this." Misaki gave him a happy grin. "Oh don't worry, when I want to find you I will. I'll even use the hair for a doll for Maeko-chan so it dosen't go to waste okay?"

Misaki sighed, "You really should cut down on that or you won't have a liver by the time your in college. It's nothing to be proud of Sempai."

"No it's not. Just because she's your girlfriend doesn't give you the right to know what I'm going to give her. And for the matter, if it was something she had for me, I would think that she wouldn't go showing Keiichi kun too."
