Entry tags:kazuya, tom

Who: Tom
Where: Kaz's house
What: Lookin' fer clues
When: Some time that doesn't break the timeline
Why: Because Kaz has gone missin.

Tom walked up to the door of Kaz's house. He hated to admit that his "daily checks" of the investigation team members really more amounted to a once a week check to see if they had showed up, but one couldn't keep track of almost 20 people everyday.

While it was true Misaki was in Paradise, there was nothing that said the killer wouldn't strike. Or if the Angles were separate from the killer, maybe they would attack.

Either way, no one had really seen Kazuya Arai in going on three weeks, and that was a major red flag for Tom. Finding the address wasn't terribly difficult. And Tom knew Kaz lived with family, so that was where is search began.

He walked up to the door, and knocked three times.

It didn't take long for a response to come, and it wasn't an especially happy one. The sound of multiple locks and safety measures being undone sounded from the other side of the door clanged through the elaborate wooden frame. Finally, the door was wrenched open a distance of roughly two inches. One safety feature remained intact, a chain which kept the door from being fully opened. However, it was terribly difficult to see who was standing on the other side of the door, due to the darkness of the building's interior.

However, a sharp voice rung through. One filled with unhidden contempt, and annoyance.

"The fuck are you? You sellin' something? I don't want it."

Tom slipped his hands in his pocket, and smiled. He shook his head.

"Oh, no. I'm a student from Nanakamado elevator school. I work part time in the administration office. They asked me to stop by and check on Arai Kazuya. I just wanted to see if I could talk to him?"

There was an evident pause from the other side of the door.

It was a couple of moments until the voice returned, and this time in a more pacified tone. Albeit, undertones of irritation were still present.

"Ah. Well, I guess that's alright. One moment." The door closed, and a muffled shout was audible from the inside.

Another minute of time passed, and more shouting from the interior. The person whom had answered the door first seemed to be growing angrier. However, there was a final quick hurry of steps to the door, and it was opened once more.

This time, the voice was recognizable as Kazuya's, although his person remained concealed. "Can I help you?"

Tom reached out and gently placed a hand on the door. He hadn't intended to try and force it open, but he didn't want to say his peace.

"Arai-san! It's Sagaki, Thomas, from school? We're in the Anti-Bullying Club together? No one's seen you in awhile, so they sent me to check on you."

"Did they? Well, that was nice of them." He spoke dryly.

"I've been busy with things lately, so I haven't been able to attend classes. I ah..." There was a barely audible shout from inside, which cut him off before he could finish.

With a now hurried voice, he spoke in what might have been a reassuring manner. "Look. I'm fine, I'm not going to be able to reach classes for awhile yet. Whenever I get permission, I'll attend."

Tom nodded. He caught the words Kaz spoke well enough. when I get permission. Tom's mind was already running through several ideas.

He let his hand slip from the door, no reason to get Arai in trouble for him being stubborn. He took a moment to try and see as much of the houses interior as possible while he and Kaz were still talking.

"I understand how that is. I'll give Ishinomori-san you're regards then?"

"By all means." The voice seemed happier at that, but there was a hesitation afterwards. Whatever he did intend to do was interrupted by a final, very outraged yell. The door was thus slammed shut, and the locks hurriedly readjusted. The air still, Tom was left to his business.

And Tom's business was finding out what was going on the house of Arai.

He turned swiftly and began to walk down the street. He went all the way until he was out of site of the house, taking note of any possible hiding spots along the way. Once he rounded the corner though he ducked, and began moving very slowly, and very carefully back to within view.

He reached into his bag, and began looking through it. His hand moved over his mag light, gloves, rope, lock pick gun, and then finally he found his small pair of binoculars.

He pulled them out, and from his hiding spot began watching. Of course he hadn't brought his recording equipment, that he would have to head back to the dorms for.

He sat crouched on watching for an hour or so before he felt comfortable heading off.

The hiding endeavor seemed to pay off. Within fourty-five minutes of the spying, a rather obnoxious looking blue car rolled up to the drive of the house. An even more arrogant trait was the loud, typical OONTZ OONTZ OONTZ music that was bellowing out of the speakers. However, that quickly dimmed in volume as two relatively youngish men clambered out of the vehicle. They were both dressed in expensive, but fashionable attire. One of which seemed to have quite the array of piercings across his face. As if he had made it a job of attempting to get in as many as possible. The other was without any extremely noticable detail. But the residents of the house certainly weren't oblivious to the arrival of the car, or it's drivers.

A tall, similar figure to Kazuya was the one that opened the door, stepping out in to the sunlight to indulge in pleasant and joking conversation with the two that had arrived. From the look of him distantly, he appeared more muscled than the average fair. As well, his hair color was strikingly similar to Kazuya's, although taking on a slightly bluer color instead of the pitch ebony.

Following the taller man out of the building was another figure wearing a drawn up hoodie, and large baggy clothing. It seemed that none of his skin could be seen beneath it all, and he must have been dreadfully hot on such a day. But they didn't stay a while to chat. The taller male gave the hoodie-man a painful-looking slap over the face, and pushed him towards the car, which he clambered into obediently. The rest of the men followed, and the car soon pulled out from the driveway and into the roads.

Tom flipped out a notebook, and quickly wrote down a description of the car, and plates. He looked at the house. There was no way Tom could follow the car, that much was certain.

But he thought for a few minutes and an idea struck him. He pulled out his text book, and flipped it open, and looked at the page number. !59. He quickly scrawled a quick note in the margins.

Arai-san, going to talk to Ikeda-sensei about your situation. Hope you feel better

-Sagaki-san

Tom then pulled a piece of paper from his bag, and wrote on it;

assignment; read page 159

Then he walked back up to the door, and knocked again. He called out.

"Arai-san? It's Sagaki... I forgot to give you the homework. Are you still home?"

There was only silence from the house.

Tom knocked again.

"ARAI-SAN?"

Tom nodded. If there was no one home, then there was no one to worry about someone looking around.

Tom took a few minutes to walk around the house, looking like a suitablly perplexed and antsy student of course.

There were obviously more locks on the door then he could pick. In addition, the house was upscale enough to have a decent security system.

Tom was beginning to think that this nut might be a bit too difficult to crack.

He took a quickl look at the house and turned to walk away.
