Don't Notice the Man with the Busted nose and Video Camera
Who: Gendou and open
What: Stalking of the elusive and Wild Renju
Where: School Campus,around town,
When: Day or two before Tanabata, during school and after
Why: Because Gendou has it in his thick skull that he wants Rensami to be a OTP

Gendou was staring, and staring hard. His eyes were locked in place through the spy glasses that he picked up at the local video store. Normally he wouldn't use something so un elegant to spy on people with, but with the injured wrist and bandaged nose it made more sense to keep a distance, lest the new look prevent him from gathering the data that he needed. And he needed it, badly.

He'd been trying to find out if they were dating or not, and Masami had made it very, very difficult in trying to find out anything from members of her Kendo club. It was down right impossible. He had tried bribery, selling of homework, even offering to double the club funds, all in an attempt to get someone to break their silence and say that the two girls were going out. But, unbelievably to Gendou's surprise, no one spoke. Not one member of the team had the balls, in his humble opinion, to speak a word about anything dealing with Masami.

So of course he had to move onto her clear girlfriend in this matter, Renju. Following her had been tricky. Different classes meant different times for tracking, which meant he had to skip out of some classes. Thank god for those dumb joke pills that made you want to vomit. Now he was carefully following her down through the campus. Hiding behind buildings, trees and benches like some common pantie thief. All he needed was a bag and one of those weird head bandannas and he was ready to join in with the likes of the perverted old men that tried to see up the skirts of the nurses at the hospital. He really didn't get what the excitement was about, but maybe it was a straight guy thing. In any case he was now following along after her making notes about where she went and what time.

This was turning out to be a rather dull plan, and he just wished that he could just ask someone about the matter.

At this particular moment, Renju had been on her way back from Music Club. She'd finally thrown in the towel and turned her oboe back in; her irritation with the whole charade had finally gotten to be too much, as it always had. She still had Cooking Club for now, however long that would last... It was getting on towards finals time, though, so looking for another one could wait till the fall.

It was actually a rather nice day out, and her mood was about as good as it could get considering, well, everything. Then again, on a day like this, everything got just a little easier to forget.

Riiight up until she heard Gendou's voice off to her side. So much for that good mood. Most of her was saying "walk away, it doesn't matter, you shouldn't care, just walk away," and really she didn't. Or wouldn't, rather, if it hadn't been for the results of those little rumors flying around. Words were words, but the things people did when they didn't approve of who you were supposedly dating, whether due to their being the wrong gender or just having a fanclub, were...

It needed to stop. Cursing herself for doing it, Renju stalked up to them--what was Kanaye doing here, anyway?--and stopped a bit short of Gendou. "Excuse me, senpai, but what exactly is going on here?" she asked, glowering up at him.

"I think he said he was birdwatching?" Maeko said, glad for the distraction. She didn't particularly want Kanaye getting into a fight over her.

She was about to use the opportunity to ask Renju about the latest maths homework but no. Even Maeko could judge tone better than that. The question could be saved for later.

Gendou smiled at Kanaye and chuckled, "Oh I know how to dig up things too Satou-san. Be careful what you wish for and all. Good for you, glad to hear it. Bravo and all that."

He paused when he saw Renju come over, "Ah we were just speaking about matters Renju-dono. I noticed you weren't going to music club today and I figured I'd keep an eye on you. You know how there's been trouble going around with bullies."

Gendou looked at Maeko at this point smiling, "Isn't that right Maeko-chan? Weren't you just telling me a few weeks ago about some boys causing trouble down this very road. So I decided to follow and investigate."

Kanaye turned to Renju and smiled. "Oh, hello Renju-san! I was just telling Retsu-san here not to meddle in your business, and that any relationship with Masami you may have is entirely your own business and that he has nothing to do with it. He was stalking you, ya see." he said happily. Quite frankly, this was an amazing chance to do something about Gendou. And not get his hands dirty as well!

...CRAP, he was thinking like Kiriko! Ok, think stupid thoughts, think stupid thoughts...

"Thank you, but I don't need anyone keeping an eye on me. You of all people should know that this is typical." Renju's normally very measured, respectful speech was starting to slip. She did not need this with everything else going on, and she did not like being lied to. "I am quite capable of taking care of myself." Something inside of her laughed bitterly at that last comment, but she shrugged it off uneasily.

She also rounded on Kanaye for good measure. "Thank you for your concern, senpai, but there is nothing going on between me and Sakuraba-san to hide." The politeness had returned, just enough to show that there weren't any hard feelings. Well, not as many. 'Not as many as with Gendou', however, wasn't saying much.

Kanaye knew he messed up somewhere. "I know that, but it's not exactly like it's a problem if it did exist, right?" he said quickly, panicked. "I-I mean if you aren't like that, well, that's fine right? And if you are, that's fine as well. You can never be sure." he finished, calming down somewhat. "I'm sorry if I insulted you."

Ah. So this was about that gossip. That was creepy. That was impossibly creepy.

"With all due respect, Retsu-senpai, watching over induvidual students is far from an acceptable solution to the problem I brought up. Even if it were you are expected to bring proposed solutions before the student council before implementing them." She said, deciding to focus on the story rather than the creepy. THAT could be discussed later.

"I heard that you had been absent from some classes due to nausea. I needed to confirm that you will be available at the next meeting, I have something I need to put forward."

She didn't confront Renju partly because she was entirely right and partly because she was pretty scary.

Something she needed to put forward? Kanaye's ears perked. It sounded interesting enough. But he'd ask about that later. As for right now...

Kanaye applauded. "Excellent job, Maeko-chan. You're very good at this. Now then, Gendou-me." He said, turning to his classmate. "Your pointless rebuttal in which you attempt to threaten us in order to make you look less like a creepy stalker?"

"As always Maeko-hime, you are a darling about these things. Oh yes..ah, that...well um...I assure you that I will be well enough for the meeting. It is my duty as president and all to be there," He paused looking over Kanaye and imagined him to suddenly have a small tail and big floppy ears. Holding in a chuckle he added calmly, "And I would like it kindly if you didn't bring your ah...what is he exactly, boyfriend, pet poodle? I'm not quiet sure, in any event please see that he says out of council business."

He turned quickly to Renju and looked heartbroken, "I see, I simply was trying to do something as Maeko-chan seems to insist I do now. Rest assured that I will keep my eye on you though Renju-san. It would be improper of me to simply allow a nice girl like you to be seen on her own walking down a dangerous street like this."

Well, at least Kanaye had the grace to apologize. He really was getting better about these things than she'd given him credit for--not that there wasn't still room for improvement, but at least it wasn't intentional. Gendou, on the other hand... The insults to Kanaye were none of her business, but she didn't need that for him to get on her last nerve.

"I am perfectly capable of defending myself." Her kama were in her satchel, but even she wasn't stupid enough to pull a weapon in front of him, even if it wasn't meant as a threat. "And given how much trouble you've already caused me with that--ridiculous rumor, I would rather you not be anywhere near me. Senpai."

Gendou blanched some, "Re..Rediculous? Now, wait just one moment. From where I sat I saw the three of you there, and the way things looked it is perfectly resonable to assume that you and Sakabura-san were engaged in something other then just talking to Kondo-san about joining tea club. So please, do not blame this on me."

Curiousity rarely got the better of Maeko.

Except for just now.

"What was 'the way things looked', senpai?" She blurted out without thinking.

Kanaye quirked an eyebrow and smiled. THIS was why he liked Maeko. "Indeed. Why where you sitting somewhere where you could see the three?" he asked suspiciously.

Retsu sighed and rubbed his head. Were all the students at this school more nosy then he was? Really now!

"I was on my off time from my shift at my job. I stopped by a dinner where the three were having something to eat. I sat behind them and asked them what they were up to. And from the way they were talking and acting it seemed like they were trying to keep something quiet and secreat." He explained calmly. Then waved it off quickly.

"Come now Satou-san, if you were to see one girl blushsing with a nervous look on her face, another seemingly quiet and the third, well...seemingly playing match maker it seemed like. It was like something out of a novel, so of course, with the whole covering up whatever they were talking about naturally I assumed that there was more to it then what met the eye."

"That 'nervousness' you saw was because we didn't appreciate having our conversation interrupted. And any sort of blushing you think you might have seen was your imagination, I assure you." Renju took a step closer to Gendou, craning her neck back a little to glare at him. Even if he wouldn't listen to her, she was going to set this straight in front of other people. Maybe that would help dispel it and put all this to rest.

"So then tell me, what is the big secreat that you three just couldn't tell me. If it was anything ordinary Kondo-chan could have easily said something about it." He crossed his arms. "Besides that, the way you two were smiling and such. You could have at least made up something more believable then Kondo-san joining the tea club. I would buy it more if Maeko-chan was doing so, not her."

"Um, senpai..." Maeko started. "That kind of wild speculation is pretty dangerous. It...that sounds like they were just talking. Keeping secrets is hardly unheard of, you know. I'm sure you do it, too." A little too much emphasis was placed on that last sentence. I have dirt on you, remember?

"I really think that says more about th kind of novels you read, frankly."

Kanaye glared at Retsu. "Gendou-san, shut the fuck up. We all have secrets, after all. And we can keep then to ourselves. But if you keep blathering on and on and on...well, who knows? Something I know, might...slip, to Kojima." he said, smiling evilly. "And no one wants that, right?"

"Rather unappropriate words to say before the president of the student council, Satou-san. I feel rather offended by it, perhapse I should take your Anti-bullying club off the charter and with hold the funding that I was going to give you." Gendou sneered rather testily.

"Kojima. Ha, please, are you honetly threatening me?" He glanced over at Maeko and Renju. "I have more to fear from then then I do of you."

He glanced at Maeko and added cooly, "So you trade in the small hyper puppy for this prissy poodle? Really Maeko, one clinger for another?"

Kanaye quirked an eyebrow. "Um, wow. We don't need funding, you moron. We can get it privately. Honestly, I'm afraid of Maeko-chan and Renju-san myself. And I'm much more afraid of them then I am of you." he said, cocky. "And I'm a poodle? Sweet. I knew I could pull it off." Kanaye punctuated this with a hair flip and a pose.

"I don't think that's a concern anyway, senpai." Maeko said with her best 'I hold the cards here and it doesnb't happen very often and I am loving it' smile. "The Anti-Bullying club was Hamasaki-sensei's idea. Clubs run by staff members don't require your personal approval."

She shrugged. "I don't really see what you're implying, Retsu-senpai."

She did see what was being implied, naturally.

"Oh that's right, it was Hamasaki's pet project. Has he even been in as your advisor recently? Hummm that PA incident certainly was colorful, I should possibly bring that up in the next meeting with the chairman."

He smiled and twiched, "As for this matter I was talking to Renju-chan, and not speaking to either of you at the moment."

He looked back at Renju, "So then tell me, what was it that you three were discussing that night? Considering the fact that prior to this time you three had nothing in common."

"Senpai?" Maeko said, smile becoming wide enough to bare clenched teeth. "The PA incident was more than two weeks ago now and the student in question was dealt with already. You're slow recently. Perhaps you should concentrate more on doing your job than on apparently keeping track on the friends and hobbies of every induvidual student."

Gendou smiled at her sweetly, "I will be keeping this in mind Maeko-hime. Trust me I will certainly be keeping this in mind."

He turned to leave nodding politely to Renju. "I'm sorry you have to deal with such individuals Renju-chan. I hope you have a pleasent afternoon."

Gendou paused, "Oh and Maeko-hime, I suggest you keep your new pet on a leash. He seems to be rabid."

Kanaye smiled at Gendou's retreating back before turning to Maeko and Renju. "I apologize if I caused either of you any trouble. That asshole doesn't know anything, does he?" Kanaye asked with a sigh. "Either way, Maeko-chan," he turned to Maeko. "You want to go somewhere after school?"

Maeko turned around from making furious stabbing motions at Gendou's back with an imaginary knife and sighed in irritation, mumbling something not quite coherent that involved the words 'stupid dick'.

She brightenned up after a few seconds of imagining him falling down cliffs in a comical fashion.

"It's fine, senpai. He's an idiot. I've known for a while." She said, pulling her hair back behind her shoulders. She thought for a seond and then nodded.

"Oh, Kigakiga's started selling Mochi icecream! You should try it if you havn't, it's really good!"
