Who: Misaki and Keiichi
Where: Campus around some Sakura trees
What: A chance to breath, talk and appologize
When: After she's been let out of her room.
Why: She needs a shoulder to cry on.

Misaki sighed deeply as she wandered around the campus. She'd unwrapped her hands but they were still sore from trying to pull at the boards on the windows. Walking around was giving her a chance to think, and she sat down under some cherry trees. Putting her head down she cried quietly. She had to get this out of here and be strong. Not only for Maeko-chan, but the others. She felt bad for Kanaye especially. After what had happened. All the hell that they had been going through. Tears slipped down her face and she tried to wipe them away.

"Why? Why did this have to happen. Maeko-chan...I'm so lost right now..." she muttered to herself and kept her head down.

"Right now I think they're trying to come to terms with what happened in there. There was something to do with angels, I'm not really sure." She sighed unhappily. "Yes, they are, I just don't know when. They were shaken up some, but...we need to go in with our heads, and not go in half cooked."

Misaki shivered some, "You were right earlier when you said that Maeko-chan was nuts. But...was it really the real maeko-chan, or have we been dealing with her shadow this whole time?"

Keiichi's exact reply to this question was going to be..difficult. The real Maeko was neither the innocent person Misaki thought of her as, nor a person who'd lock her in her room.

"No one has been their Shadow the entire time we've known them. There...seems to be some sort of triggering event. Something happens, and then they disappear. What exactly, I don't know, but..."

His voice trailed off. "I don't think Maeko's shadow's been here the whole time. I think the real Maeko cares about you and worries about you. Too much in the latter, but still." A small frown. "We're going to have to go back in there and find her..."

"But, what if...what if I have another freak out like I did in the re run of the other dungeon? Keiichi-sempai, I'm...I"m scared. I mean...I promised Kanaye-sempai...he's really shaken up Keiichi. I mean I've never seen him like this before. I don't know what she did to them in there." Misaki said softly and sighed.

"But...there's a reason she worries about me so much. I can be a total space case at times," Misaki tugged at her hair and looked down. "Not thinking about how it's going to affect other people. Thinking that things will work out because people will think like I do, but they don't. S-so she's always been there to pull me back when I do dumb things. Like the PA thing."

Looking up at him she paused, "Ah, Keiichi-sempai, er...why didn't you go with them? What happened? I heard some girls talking when I was walking around about you and Kozue-chan."

"You had a freakout? I think I had the market cornered on those in Ikeda-san's dungeon...that's why I wasn't with everyone. I've been sort of just...going to class and then back to the dorm as much as possible."

He sighed. He really HAD screwed that up, royally. He'd just meant to try and call the group out on its lack of togetherness, and..that happened.

"Everyone makes mistakes, Mi-chan. Sometimes, we have to be able to make them. Otherwise we never learn anything."

His face paled at the mention of Kozue. Another example where living and learning was going to be important.

"She and I were dating for a while. She broke up with me after the blowup. Not too hard to understand why, I suppose. It's my fault anyway."

"I see, I"m sorry Sempai. I should have come to check on you. If I had then maybe the Shadow wouldn't have done what it did." MIsaki bowed some to Keiichi and blinked hard to keep the tears away.

"Ah, why is it your fault? Wait...was she upset at you because she thought I was too close to you!" Misaki shook her head and sighed, "I bet she thought that I was flirting with you didn't she. I should go talk to her, make her see that it was all a misunderstanding."

"It's not your fault at all, Mi-chan. We just...Kozue and I are different people, really. You never came up at all. Looking back...I don't really know if we could have worked any better than we did. I just..."

He offered a shrug. "Things happen in this world, and its our own fault sometimes. I'm willing to accept that I screwed up a lot. All I can do is move on and try to screw up less."

His smile was weak, but it was still there.

Misaki looked at him and smiled, at times Keiichi was more mature then most people she knew so that was a plus for their friendship. At other times though she thought he gave up way to easily and looked firmly at him, "Keiichi-sempai! If you still have feelings for her then go after her! Don't just say okay to it if she says no. You can't just assume that someone doesn't like you just because they may seem shy or something. You have to be strong, and...and go up to her and ask her why she doesn't want to see you anymore."

"I'm glad you're able to see what you did wrong, but I'm sure it wasn't anything too bad, and I'm sure she'd give you another chance if you talk to her about it. It would be very mean of her not to," Misaki told him and squeezed his hand, "And if you love her, then you shouldn't just let her go like that. Sometimes people get really scared when they realize someone loves them."

Misaki blushed some, "I'm still not sure exactly how to tell that though."

"Mi-chan, there are some times when you have to know enough is enough. If I went after her more, it would only make things worse." Keiichi sighed to himself. "Besides, we're teammates. I don't want things to be any more awkward with her than they have to be. I wasn't exactly the most mature person in the world in Kiriko's dungeon. I need to grow up."

He considered himself mature, generally. At least, compared to most of his teammates. Him snapping contradicted that, of course, but his feelings weren't what bothered him. It was more the fact that he'd yelled at everyone which, of course, didn't help matters.

"I don't think she and I work so well, honestly," Keiichi said, quietly. "She was the first person I ever dated, and I was, best I can tell, different from her other boyfriends." Keiichi shrugged. "I'm going to try and go forward from here.

He paused, and frowned for a moment. "Not sure how to tell what?"

"But I mean, if you care for her? Shouldn't you give it all you have? Even if you think that things would work out bad, maybe they won't?" Misaki looked at him plainly. "I...I just think that it would be a bad thing if you regreted not...you know, seeing her and such."

"Why not? You two seemed to get along really well as far as I could tell, and she made you happy right so...And she went out with you because you were different right?" Misaki asked him then flushed, "Oh...so...I understand."

Her face got redder and she shifted on her feet some. "Well I was asking Kanaye-sempai when Maeko-chan and I were moving out, he helped carry the bags and we had a fight over something dumb, because I was being selfish." Misaki rubbed her palms trying not to think of the time. "Anyway he gave us a hug and I had asked him what being in love felt like, and he said like this, but...I really don't understand what that ment? Is it like...hugging someone or...what?"

"Like what," he asked, trying to get her off of the Kozue subject. Really, it was something he hadn't even talked to *Kozue* about yet, and he figured it was only right to have that sort of debriefing conversation with her before he starting going into details with others.

"Best I can tell, love's different for everyone. There are degrees to it too. Quite complicated for something so simple."

He chuckled a bit. Nervously. Dealing with Misaki and situations like this was always somehow...dangerous. She was innocent. Naive in a way that he sometimes didn't quite believe existed. And she was asking questions about *love.*

Suddenly less sure of himself, he managed to chirp out a "why do you ask?"

"Because...I don't know what I've been feeling recently and since Maeko-chan is gone I...I don't know what to do. I really don't feel right asking Kiriko-chan about this, and well, I can't talk to anyone else about it. They'd all think I was dumb or something." Misaki whimpered some and wiped her eyes.

"I'm sorry sempai, I'm being redicoulsly emotional right now, and...and I shouldn't be. Not after I promised myself I wouldn't get upset like this. I just..." she was trembling now and trying to keep from sobing. God she was a child.

"You can talk to me about it, Misa-chan. You can talk to me about anything." Reaching out, he placed an affectionate hand on her shoulder.

She seemed really upset about something, but he wasn't quite able to put anything together as to why. "We'll get Maeko-chan back. I promise. Don't worry."

"I...I'm scared Sempai. Really...I...I really never had anyone besides Maeko-chan before be my friend, and now..." she was trembling in his arm tears came down now silently, "I...I feel like a part of me was cut off. I don't know what to do without her. I'm scared Sempai. I don't want anything to happen to her."

She rested her head on his chest and sniffled some, "I'm sorry Sempai, I'm being a pain now."

His other arm came to wrap around her, pulling the first year closer. "We'll be able to get her back. Don't worry about it. We found Oubai-san, Ishinomori-san, and Ikeda-san, didn't we?"

He couldn't smile, but he did squeeze her a bit. "And when we get her back, everything should be back to normal. Plus, your friend'll be okay."

Keiichi nodded. If Paradise was all she was worried about, this was an easy problem.

Misaki nodded, not being honest with him hurt. She was worried despreately about Maeko, but she also didn't understand why she was feeling things for everyone. Was it normal to care about someone so much that you wanted to see them again and again?

Blinking her eyes some and sniffed, "Yeah, I'm sure we will. I'm just worried that the shadows are getting stronger and stronger the more we know about people."

She looked up at him, "I didn't think she would become a shadow Sempai, I didn't."

"People who become Shadows are seemingly the ones who repress things. In that sense...you and I having our blowups was probably actually a good thing, you know?"

What exactly Maeko was repressing Keiichi didn't know, though he supposed they'd find out soon.

This conversation was essentially going nowhere, Keiichi realized. "Is there any way I can help," he asked, finally.

Maybe that would help focus things.
