Moving Day....
Who: Misaki, Maeko, and anyone that finds them moving
What: The duo heading to the dorms to move into their new place
When: Afternoon after school
Where: Streets of Iburi
Why: Because they both want out of their home situations

Misaki held ont her one suitcase and the backpack as she glanced over at Maeko who was walking with her. She could still hear her mother's comments as they were gathering the last of her things.

"Be sure that you don't do anything stupid Misaki. I don't want you to hurt Maeko-san's reputation, and embarrass her. You're lucky you have someone like her willing to stay with you. Please remember you're representing this family in there, I don't need to hear from my co-workers that my daughter was making a mess of things and being ignorant," her mother had said. Though she had, surprisingly given her a small hug before she left. It was strange seeing her house at such a distance and not coming back to it.

I wonder how Maeko-chan feels about all this. I mean she's leaving her family too... Misaki thought as they walked then out of habit reached over and squeezed Maeko's hand and smiled.

"Maeko-chan, did I tell you that I'm glad your my friend? I don't know how I could have done this if I didn't know you were going to be there with me." Letting go of Maeko's hand she reached into the small bag she had with her and pulled out a small container. "I created a new anpan. Try it out would you when we get the dorm. I was thinking of maybe trying to sell it at the coffee shop."

Kanaye perked up. "Dinner? That sounds like an excellent idea. I'll pay!" he shouted happily. "Where shall we go? Money's no object, so we can go anywhere!"

He laughed, sheepishly. "I didn't have much of a problem with it. You, Maechan?"

"I don't think it's right to make judgements based on it." Maeko said, shaking her head. "What we see in those places is something that they don't want to show anyone. I think it's best that we forget what we saw until Ikeda-san's ready to bring it up on her own terms."

Misaki gave a nod, "I just...it seemed so sad in there in a way. I know my family isn't perfect but that's one thing my mother would never do, chose someone for me to marry its...it's like you're not a person. Like your some's property."

She remained quiet for a bit as if digesting something in her mind, then shook it and raished her one hand as if trying to gasp something.

"You know what's odd about this. We've had it be, Sato-kun, then Oubai-sempai, then Toru-kun, and for a while we thought it was all people that were either quiet and shy, or were sort of on the outside of everything social. Then it was sensei, and now kiriko-chan. And the funny thing is, no matter how many times I try to add it up, I don't get how Kikio-chan got taken. She wasn't in the school when it happened so...did she just walk in there, or was it someone at the party that did it?"

Kanaye just sighed. "Yeah, that's all kinds of messed up. I just hate parents like that. I hate parents, honestly, but I hate those kinds even more."

Kanaye sighed again. "Misachan, let's not talk about this, ok? Let's leave the investigating to the investigating time. Now it's fun, happy, moving in then eating out sort of thing. We should talk about this later, with people like Tom."

"I thought-" Maeko began then shook her head. "-senpai's right. This isn't the time to discuss this stuff. We finally got you out of there, we should be celabrating."

Kanaye laughed a bit. "Please, you two. Call me Kanaye-senpai at least."

"Alright Kanaye-sempai, it has a nice ring to it, doesn't it Maeko-chan?" Misaki nodded smiling brightly. She almost wanted to try singing it, but chose not to. Nodding some she agreed to drop the subject and asked quickly.

"Why are you out here anyway Sempai? It's a bit late, not that we mind but, shouldn't you be at home?"

"Kanaye-senpai." Maeko repeated. It felt awkward, Misaki was the only person she remembered adressing by given name in her life. Even her dolls when she was a child had all been adressed only by family name. She nodded anyway to show she understood.

"It sounds cute when you say it Maeko-chan!" Misaki grinned at her friend and hugged onto her arm. "Hummm, now what sort of animal would Kanaye-sempai be...a cat? Although I wonder if he's afraid of water."

Kanaye smiled. "Yeah, that's it. It's just weird when I call you by your given names and chan and you call me senpai. Just rather odd, in my opinion."

Kanaye just smirked. "I'd say I'm a cat. Though I'm not afraid of water. Heck, I have a pool at my house. You two can come use it whenever you want!" he shouted happily before sobering quickly. "Nah, got into a fight with my parents again. They don't think I'm taking life seriously enough."

"A cat?" Maeko wondered what had steered the conversation into that. "I...guess that's right."

She nodded, thinking. Fighting with parents seemed to be a theme within the group, though she still didn't consider her own disagreements to be 'fighting'. "Is everything okay?"

"Yeah, it's not like this is anything new." he yawned. "I get into fights with them, like, every week. Just more then usual, lately."

Misaki looked at Kanaye sadly, "Sometimes I think parents forget what it's like to be a teenager or child. They get wrapped up in doing what's right rather then looking at the big picture and having fun. I mean in the end, we're going to grow up too, and then they won't be able to have the fun they would have had when we were younger learning new things, because things won't be as new anymore."

Maeko shrugged. She wasn't sure quite what to say. It seemed alien to her to be able to just shrug off disagreements with people who you owed so much.

"Doing what's right is usually a good idea, though..."

Kanaye laughed a bit. "Yeah, my father just keeps focusing on making me a good business-man and future CEO. He's been doing so since I was two. And he never staid do actually help with it." he finished with a sharp laugh. "Like that'd do anything."

Kanaye turned to Maeko. "Usually, yes. But not right now. Focusing too hard on the future causes people to ignore the present with disastrous results."

Misaki nodded with agreement, "It's true. I can't think of the number of times my mother ignored things that were going on around her only to find out last that my brother was engaged of all things."

She chuckled some softly, "Our parents should meet Kanaye-sempai. Mom would love the idea of her daughter being around a business man. She'd probably tell me that it would put some sense into my addled brain."

Kanaye stared and facepalmed. "Seriously? It takes skill to fail that badly. Tell your brother congrats from me."

Kanaye just laughed. "Nah. I'm too crazy for that. Tell her that, however. I want to meet her one of these days and I'd think it'd be amusing to see her expectations of me shattered."

Misaki grinned brightly, "Well I will. And yes I'm serious, it's how she is. She doesn't look for things that don't matter and to her mind, a girl that apparently is just a clerical accountant is in no postion to be marrying the son of a doctorial professor of bio physics. She pretty much forgot that he was even dating her. My father's oblivious but most of the time he's not that oblivious."

She looked up at the sky, "Oh she'd say that you're just sewing your oats as a young man, and that she'd find you charming and a perfect catch. After all it's not the idea that marriage is completely for love, it has to make the family look good as well. Shatter away please, she'd probably tell me to never allow myself to associate with you until after you had your degree and had taken over your father's company."
