Why: Because he felt like it.

Ginjiro stood outside by a parked car waiting for Noriko. He'd been used to the lateness that the girl had, after all she was a reporter and editor of the news paper so he had to just wait. It wasn't a question of, if he was interested in her, he just liked her company. Rumors be damned.

"Wonder when she's going to show, all this stuff that's been going on in town, and the cops have been everywhere..." He actually was a bit worried for her and rubbed the back of his neck. Christ, he was getting soft, and not for the right reasons either.

From the apartment window, Norio saw Ginjiro's car and began to hurry. It wouldn't be good to keep his friend waiting, regardless of how patient he was. After all, he'd been looking forward to this date. Norio had, too, but felt a little more restrained, considering their circumstances. He'd have to take great pains not to get spotted by anyone from school, and if by any freak chance he did get spotted, he'd have to cook up some excellent blackmail to cover it up. Having worried about this enough for his tastes, Norio slipped on a pair of fairly nice-looking shoes and rushed down the stairs to Ginjiro.

At Gin's car, he stopped and smiled sweetly. "Hello, Gin-kun! I apologize for any lateness on my part; I took a while getting ready." After a moment's pause, "So, where will we go tonight, my handsome date?" was his follow-up, only slightly tinged with sarcasm.

"Handsome, that's a first for you isn't it noriko-chan," he smirked some at her and raised an eyebrow. "You got dressed up for me? How kind. But you didn't need to. I figured a movie, the one you were wanting to see is still playing."

He stood up from the car and opened the door for her, no one was going to say that Gin wasn't a gentleman when he wanted to be. "Hop in Babe."

There was a playfulness to him right now, though he did have some questions to ask of her, like that PA announcement that had happened.

Norio smiled mischievously. "It's an appropriate descriptor, right? And I'm supposed to say nice things like that to you on dates. Unless you'd prefer me to refer to you how I normally do." He put a hand on his chin, pondering. "You know, 'Gin-kun, that lunkhead delinquent from Yasabori who I hang out with'. Or something like that. But, oh! That American thriller, The Thorne Conspiracy! I'm glad it's still showing..."

He stepped into the car calmly, not at all showing any of his internal worry about Ginjiro possibly getting arrested. A notorious delinquent driving underage... not the best person to have in a car with you. "Let's go, shall we?"

"Well I'm used to that, didn't think you saw me as anything but the lunkhead anyway," he hopped into the car and stared it with a roar and pulled out quickly heading down the streets staying at a good speed, just enough to give Norio a thrill, but nothing that would have her yelling at him for going too fast.

He glanced over at her, "So I ran into a blonde from your school at noodle alley. For once I didn't stiff the owner. He mentioned something about my neighbor making noise at the school? She say anything about you, or are we still safe from that?"
