Who: Shiori and Kanaye
What: Hobbling back to camp

Shiori didn't particularly mind missing out on the meeting - if there was even going to be one. There had been quite a few people that definitely didn't belong in their group that had crashed their little party. Though Shiori wouldn't have minded if people overheard, she knew that others might. Ah, well. She'd much rather have fun with Satou than become depressed by the worries of the others. It'd be too serious for her, anyway.

"Ah, hold on senpai," she said quickly as she took out her cell phone. Punching in the number she thought was Aoi's, she sent a text message asking Aoi to update Shiori on what they talked about - Paradise, the shadows, their future battle plans, and whatever else the group might talk about. Finishing, she pushed her phone back into her pocket and then smiled up at him. "Sorry! I texted Aoi to ask her to keep me posted on what the group talks about."

Kanaye just smiled at Shiori. Is it any wonder that Kanaye decided to go after her? She was sweet enough to volunteer to carry a man that's much larger then her because he is injured. Ok, he isn't injured so much he can't walk, but he had to fake it, so...

Smiling amusingly as Shiori texted Misaki, he simply waited patiently. He wondered who she was texting (Keiichi, perhaps?) quickly dispelled that thought from his mind. Kanaye doubted Keiichi would lie to him on a serious matter such as this! Nodding as Shiori explained who she messaged, he simply smiled and waited for her to continue on. "No problem, Misachan. I doubt they'd talk about much more, but you always were someone to keep on top of things!"

Shiori paused, sucking in a breath as she froze. Did Satou really just... did he call her Misaki? How could he even...

"Do you want me to get Aoi-chan, senpai?" she asked, smiling sweetly despite the ticking muscle on her forehead. "I'm sure she wouldn't mind helping you, and I wouldn't want to be distracting you from thinking about her."

She took a step away from him, but not too far less he fall into an ungraceful heap. She may be annoyed at his slip up, but she didn't want to actually cause him pain or hurt himself more.

SHIT. SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT FUCK, JUST FOR VARIETY. Kanaye just pissed Shiori off. He could tell. He has a sense for these things. They fact she stepped away was a bit of a hint as well.

"N-no! Shichan, I-I'm happy that your helping, really! You don't need to get Misachan into this..." Kanaye tried to backpedal. Good going, Kanaye. "I-I mean that...well I'm...I..apologize for calling you Misachan, Shichan. I mean, who could compare you two! Sure, Misachan is nice and cute, but you're also nice, and cute, and a great artist and..." he managed to stutter out before collapsing on the floor. "...Fuck it, I'm not going to bother saying things I've said millions of times before. Look, sorry about the mix-up, ok?"

Trust Satou to throw out the compliments. And trust Shiori to forgive him immediately. He was a flirt, after all. Him getting girls confused had to be in his nature. Maybe this was why he was single? Poor Satou. Hopefully he'd get over that problem one day - for both his sake, and the female population.

She crouched down next to him, already pulling his arm around his shoulder as she frowned. He really was kind of pathetic, wasn't he?

"It's okay," she said, waiting until he was ready before moving to stand up. "We were just talking about her. I guess I can understand. But don't do it again, okay?"

She winked at him, her smile just bordering a grin.

Kanaye just blinked as Shiori started to move. She...was actually forgiving him? Seriously? Oh, happy day! Kanaye would have danced if it was at all appropriate or possible. A shame, he thought, as in his own mind, he's the lord of the dance. He can work it.

"Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you Shichan!" he said excitedly. "I'm glad that you can forgive me! Why, you're so generous and forgiving, I'm surprised you're not more popular!" he said, already heading back into his old role.

Giggling, Shiori began to slowly move forward while checking to make sure that Satou was still okay. It would be just her luck to get him even more injured as she helped him back to camp. She was glad Satou was acting like his usual self though - he wouldn't be down for long, that was for sure!

"I think you already fill that role," she said. "You're a really popular guy, senpai. I feel lucky that you're my friend!"

And that he always complimented her, but she wouldn't say that. It seemed rude to, and made it seem like their relationship was one-sided. Like she was only using him for compliments. And she wasn't; she really like Satou.

Kanaye just smiled at her while they were walking. Kanaye loved her giggle. It was quite cute. Kanaye knew he kept thinking of this a lot, but it had to be repeated:

WHY didn't she have a boyfriend, exactly?

Maybe she's gay or asexual? the small part of Kanaye's brain that listens to logic announced. Or she's just not interested in romance or hasn't found the right guy yet? Kanaye squashed these thoughts. Hopeful optimism!

"Well, Shichan, thanks! I'm glad that I could be your friend, as well! I mean, you're cute giggle, you're cute eyes, you're cute body..." Kanaye had to admit, the last one was kind of creepy. Oh well, can't take it back now.

For once, Shiori laughed instead of giggled. Body shaking as she laughed, Shiori nudged Satou's side with her elbow.

"You're gunna make me blush!" she scolded him as peals of laughter continued to escape. Sobering slightly as a new question popped into her mind, she asked, "You don't talk to every girl like this, do you?"

Surely word would have gotten around about him telling every girl they have a cute whatever (or cute whatevers, in her case). Him being a flirt was well-known, but not to this extent. Maybe she was...

...naw. Other girls probably didn't see it as that big of a deal.

Kanaye pouted a bit. He wanted her giggle back! 'Oof'ing slightly as she nudged him, he smiled again. He does that a lot.

"That's kind of the point, Shichan." he said, sagely. "I have to do SOMETHING with my time, right?" he said, trying to ignore the question. On one hand, he could lie. This makes her happy, but if she finds out...

On the other hand, he could tell the truth. This makes her unhappy, but at least he's honest. Decisions, decisions...

Guess he'll just have to be subtle in the future, eh? "Oh, no no no, Shichan! Oh, sure, I compliment them and flirt with them, but not like I flirt with you!" he said. He was TECHNICALLY telling the truth. He never called anyone else a great artist.

"You're sweet, senpai," Shiori smiled, oblivious to his diction as she continued to shuffle towards the campground with Satou in tow. He knew how to make a girl feel special. Idly, she wondered if it came naturally or from years of practice.

Ah, well. It didn't really matter what it was. Satou was Satou no matter what.

"Are you feeling any better?" she asked, shifting the subject back to more important things. Like his well-being instead of flirting methods.

Kanaye just smiled at her. "Well, thanks, Shichan! Guess I'm not the only one that knows how to flit, eh?" he asked, winking. He leaned into her a bit more. It's probably hard to lift someone much taller and more muscular then you, but Kanaye just wanted the contact.

"Yes, much much better!" he said happily before setting his face back into his normal smile. "All thanks to you, Shichan! You make me feel much better!"

Blushing, Shiori leaned away as he leaned towards her. She wasn't flirting with him! She had never flirted with someone before - not intentionally, anyway! She just gave Satou compliments, like he did... with her...

Oh jeez.

"Senpai how long have I been flirting with you?!" she asked in a rush, eyes wide. If he didn't like her back, then she'd be so embarrassed to have flirted with him! Even if he did flirt with her back, and... and... Oh, what a mess this was turning out to be! She blushed, ducking her head and covering her now-burning cheeks with her hands in an attempt to hide her embarrassment. How could she have been so oblivious?

"Oh, you weren't? So that was just your normal charm?" he asked, going through his battle (well, love) plan. Be complimentary but no so much that it seems like you're making it up. Be forward but don't make them feel uncomfortable. "Well, either way it was quite nice." Kanaye cocked his head to the side in confusion. "Why, something wrong?"

Shiori was lost. While she was still incredibly embarrassed, it didn't seem so bad anymore. Satou didn't seem to mind, and if he didn't then was there really anything to worry about? Slowly, she moved her hands down and stared down at the ground.

"I guess it was," she said, laughing quietly. "I didn't even realize! You don't mind, do you? If I keep doing it? It'd be such a pain to think before I speak around you, senpai!"

It'd be a pain to think before she spoke around anyone, really. But for senpai especially! He was who she had fun with; she could relax around him and be herself.

Kanaye left out a breath he didn't think he was actually holding. Glad to see that she didn't take it badly.

"Well, Shichan, that's just amazing. Who knew you had such magneticism? Why, it would rival mine!" he said, trying to toot his own horn in a non-obvious way. "Oh, no no no, Shichan! I have no problems whatsoever. In fact, I like it, so you could say it's an anitproblem! Whatever it is," Kanaye started, nodding. "Keep doing it. It's quite adorable, really."

Grinning, Shiori hugged the arm Satou had around her shoulders. Yet again, the thought that Satou was really wonderful crossed her mind, as it often did when she was with him. It was hard not to think that though - especially when it was the truth.

"I don't think anyone's magnetism could rival yours, senpai!" she giggled. "But if you're sure you don't mind, I'll keep doing it!"

And, yes, she was blushing. Him saying she was adorable or cute or any variation thereof seemed to be her weak point. What an awesome weakness, she thought to herself as she imagined what would happen if the shadow things knew of it. Being charmed by shadows - haha!

Yay! More physical contact! Victoly! Kanaye just got a royal flush and he's raising. The pot's big, and he's gonna take it all.

"Oh, Shichan you are such a flatter. Yes, keep doing that. It makes me feel good. And, please, call me Kanaye-kun." he insisted before smiling. Who says you need a poker face to win in life? "Unless, of course, you have a better pet name..."

He smiled. He's the dealer and a player in this game, and damn if he isn't going to look at her cards. "Yaknow, Shichan, your blush is adorable. You look better then Misaki!" Kanaye said earnestly.

Shiori couldn't believe her ears. Was Sato- no, Kanaye really asking her to call him by his first name? Only Keiichi had done that before, and she thought of him as a really good friend (and maybe more, but she'd never tell him that!). So did that mean that Kanaye thought of her as a good friend too?

She grinned widely.

"Hee, about Kana-chan?" she asked teasingly before giving him yet another hug. "You're so awesome, sen- Ka...kun..?"

She blinked, realizing how it sounded before giggling. Maybe she'd just stick with what he suggested.

At the suddenly compliment, though, her giggles abruptly stopped as a blush replaced them. Aoi-chan was adorable when she blushed. S-so did that mean...

She promptly blushed more, her hands once again moving to cover her cheeks. There was no way! But... but she had to find out.

"Kanaye-kun, um... do you like me?" she asked shyly, barely moving her hands away from her face as she peered up at him.

Kanaye just laughed at her. He's playing Texas Hold'Em now, and he's got same suit Ace King. More physical contact! "Kakun? Isn't that the name of a country?" he asked, laughing.

More giggles! The flop's same suited Queen 2 3, he's close.

And a blush! The Turn is same suited Jack, then...

River's Same suited 10. Royal flush. Kanaye would pose if it wouldn't ruin the mood. Instead he just smiled at her, leaned in close and...

Whispered in her ear "I would have thought that was obvious, Shichan." he said huskily before kissing her on the lips.

If she was embarrassed before, she was outright flustered now. Him saying so nonchalantly that, yes, he did like her... for how long? And why her? He could have any girl, so why would he like someone like her?

And then she felt lips on her own, and her mind promptly went blank. Her eyes were open, but she saw nothing. She could only feel - she couldn't even process it though. Her mind refused to accept that Satou Kanaye was kissing her.

. . .

"S-senpai..." she stuttered out, realizing with a start that somehow her hands had grabbed onto his shirt. When had she done that..? She stared at her hands still fisting his shirt before looking back at him. "Are you sure? Your injury isn't making you confused, is it? What if you have a concussion or something?!"

Her mind went blissfully blank once again, but it quickly recovered this time. He really had kissed her! Surely if he had a concussion he would have realized his actions the second time around and apologized, right? But instead he was running his fingers through her hair and leaning on her.

This was rather new.

"Maybe we should sit down," she said, shuffling them over to a tree and easing herself down. Nevermind him, Shiori wasn't even the right state to walk! Not after something like that!

"You really.." she began, faltering and fumbling with her words. "You really like.. and you even... what do we... do now, Kanaye-"

She stopped. What kind of honorific was she supposed to give him now? "-kun" didn't seem to cut it anymore!

Success! Kanaye was essentially dancing at this point. Mentally, at the very least. She was cute when she was confused. She was always cute, but she was slightly cuter when she was lost. Good thing she's almost always lost, eh?

Chuckling as they sat down, he smiled at her. "Yes, Shichan, I really, really do like you. And as for what do we do know? Well, Shichan," he said as he kissed her again. "That's for you to decide, isn't it?"

Maybe sitting wasn't such a good idea. It gave Kanaye better access and yet while she was still flustered she wasn't appalled by it. Quite the opposite, actually.

And, well, third time was the charm, wasn't it?

Shyly, she leaned after him to initiate the kiss that time. Sitting, it seemed, let her have better access too. Maybe it wasn't so bad, this whole sitting and kissing thing.

"I think we should do it," she said as she moved away, blushing lightly but smiling nevertheless. "Let's date, se- Kanaye-kun!"

She was actually leaning in as well! This was Kanaye's day, really. All thoughts of Reizo washed away from his mind, he smiled at his new girlfriend. "I'd never thought you'd ask, Shichan." he said as he smiled at her and just say back and enjoyed her company.

Moving closer to snuggle into Satou's side, Shiori basked in the presence of her senpai-now-boyfriend. Hopefully things wouldn't turn weird and awkward with them. That'd be terrible, she thought to herself.

And then another thought drifted through her mind.

"What do you think the others will say?" Shiori mused. "Aoi-chan will probably be upset, huh?"

And the others that weren't fond of Kanaye... what would they think? Would they give her and Kanaye the cold shoulder? Treat them differently?

"...maybe we should keep it quiet," she mumbled to herself, frowning slightly.

She is very soft. Not even just her body, just her presence indicates comforting softness. It's quite nice.

Frowning at her conclusion, Kanaye pondered. Not many people in the group actually liked him, and it would be terrible if they changed that perception onto Shiori, so... "Yeah. Wouldn't want to make the others hate you as well, right?" he said.

Though she felt guilty, she nodded slightly and wrapped an arm around Kanaye's.

"If Keiichi is right, and we have to go back to that place, it's probably for the best if everyone works together," Shiori said. "We could still tell some people though. I don't think I'd be able to resist bragging."

She grinned, looking up at him.

"Maybe it won't be too bad now. You'll have to be extra careful now, and maybe people will like you more for it?"

Kanaye just hugged held her hand and squeezed. "Yeah. Don't worry Shichan, I'm fine with keeping it secret." he said before kissing her again. "Just so as long as we know, right?" he finished softly before chuckling. "Who knows?" he asked.
