Who: Anyone who wants to show up.
What: Study Group!
Where: Kigakiga
When: Sunday, after the dead body and before the exams.
Why: REVISION!

After what had happened, Maeko didn't know how anyone could be in the mood to revise. She certainly wasn't. Still, it seemed tests didn't even stop for dead bodies and the exams were going to happen whether they revised or not.

She wasn't sure anyone would show up but after getting permission from the boss she pushed some tables together anyway and took out a heavy folder full of notes and handouts. She'd brought her science and math notes from last year, too, for Misaki to look through. She still didn't have the pages that Kei had borrowed from her and it seemed disrespectful to complain about it. She'd just have to hope stuff wasn't on the tests. Maybe she'd get lucky.

It was a nice day, at least. Warm and bright, exactly the kind of day one would want to spend doing anything other than staring at notes. She started reading through her notes, doing revision problems printed out from a website the teacher had suggested and periodically checking her cellphone to see if anyone was going to confirm that they would show up.

Misaki hurried down the street carrying her textbooks and notes. She hoped that it was okay to bring that much, and wondered if she would ever really understand the problems. Her teacher said she had the potential to, it was just the fact that she didn't seem to know how to deal with the formulas. Everything got jumbled up. Sato-senpai was always so kind when he helped her study, even if he was a bit quiet. He got the work so quickly that it made her jealous of him.

Thoughts of Kei made her slow down. He'd have liked days like this, she had figured and would have wanted to study outside. She missed him, and wondered if anyone else did. Misaki felt bad that he'd never given her an answer about being friends. He'd said he would on Friday, but that friday he wasn't around anymore. Cluching her books tightly she shook her head and looked around. Spotting the Kigakiga, Misaki quickly hurried across the street, dodging a car that stopped short of hitting her, and pushed open the door.

The soft tinkling of bells signaled that someone had come in and she panted some and looked up at Maeko. "I'm here! Sorry if I'm late! I lost track of the time."

Holding out a bag she smiled brightly at Maeko, "Here you are Maeko-senpai! I thought some fruit bars could go well with the ice cream. I hope that's okay."

It was weird being here and not wearing that costume. It wasn't bad though. Mabe she'd come here on her days of more often.

"Ah, you're not allowed to eat your own food in here. Thanks anyway, though, we can eat them later okay?"

She slid her old folder toward the other end of the table. "That's all my notes from first year if it helps, I don't think that changed the syllabus too much. Maths is behind the blue divider."

"Okay, but they taste really good with ice cream," she smiled and sat down across from Maeko. Opening the blue binder Misaki blanched some at the sight of all the notes. "I...I didn't realize that there would be so much on the mid term. Ohhhh, this is bad. Sato-senpai never covered this with me. He was going to see if someone could help there, or said I should talk to the teacher. This is soooo much. How am I going to remember all of this Maeko-senpai!"

Kanaye walked down the street, carrying a large backpack. All of his notes he ever took were in that backpack, and it was very heavy. It was worth it though. He got to spend time with some cute girls, and he got to study! Win-win, honestly.
Checking his reflection in the mirror, content with his appearance at the time, he walked into the shop. Noticing the girls, he walked over, trying to look as dignified as he could with 30 kg strapped to his back, he smiled at the girls as he approached.
"Well, ladies, your savior has arrived!" He said with a dramatic arm swoosh, which knocked him off balance. He managed to right himself just in time, but the damage to his pride was done. He cleared his throat, went through his backpack for the required notes, handed them to his kohai, and continued. "Misaki-chan, Maeko-chan, if you need any help, let me know." He finished with a smile, and went digging through the backpack for the notes he'd need.

Misaki looked up from her worries when Kanaye made his apperence. She smiled warmly at him and looked worried when he almost fell over.

"Oh, be careful Satou-senpai!" She looked on as he pulled out the notes and laid them out before them. More notes! How was she ever going to cram this all in her head. Misaki bit her lip and whimpered some. "So many notes...how am I ever going to remember all this?"

Misaki felt tears sting her eyes, "What if I can't pass this? My mother's going to get really mad. She won't let me stay in my clubs, and I don't want to give those up. But...But how will I remember all this?"

All hope seemed lost for Wakanata Shiori. Truly, her life was about to come to an end. Her young, sweet life, lost into the dark abyss. She would cease to exist, never to be remembered again. She hadn't even created her masterpiece yet! Oh, woe was her.

Read: Her mom wanted her to babysit instead of go to the park to draw.

And though Shiori tried every excuse - she had homework, she wasn't feeling well, she was actually under the influence of several illegal drugs - her mom hadn't bought any of them.

"But I have to go to a study group!" she had tried. And, miraculously, it had worked. Kind of. Though to be honest Shiori was just planning on saying she was going to the study group and then just skipping off to some other place, her mom had foiled her plans and offered to drive her.

Thus, Shiori was in front of Kigakiga with a folder of, not drawings, but the few notes she had taken. She had to admit that maybe this study group would actually be a good idea.

Tucking her hair behind her ear, she entered the store and spotted Akuba-san from her class, her favorite third year Satou-senpai, and a freshman she recognized but never learned the name of. The freshman seemed to be upset about something, and as Shiori approached the group she realized the girl was upset because of the exams.

"Man, you're not the only one!" Shiori said. Fingers tapping on her folder, she smiled nervously. "Um, would it be okay if I joined you guys? I kind of really need to study; I'm not the greatest at paying atte-" she paused, head turning to look at the menu on the wall. "Whoa, ice cream with hot sauce?! That sounds amazing!"

Kanaye turned and smiled at the new arrival.
"Ah, Shiori-chan! We're glad you could make it."
He turned and gestured dramatically at the other two.
"In case you don't know, this is Akuba Maeko-chan, second year, and Aoi Misai-chan, first year." He turned once again and smiled apologetically.
"I'm sorry, but I didn't have the foresight to copy my notes. I had no idea I would be surrounded by so many lovely ladies, so it simply slipped my mind."

Turning her attention back on the group, Shiori smiled brightly.

"Mm! Akuba-san is in my class, but I've never met Aoi-san before. It's nice to meet you!" she nodded. Moving closer to the table, she dropped her folder onto the surface and widened her eyes when she noticed just how much everyone else had. Was she really that terrible of a student? Surely the others were just extra diligent and took more notes than necessary... right?

Hopefully they wouldn't mind her copying, because it looked like she was going to need to. Man, what a pain this was turning out to be.

She started to pull out a chair to sit before deciding that if she was going to study, Shiori was going to get some food first. The ice cream with hot sauce really did sound like it was worth a try.

"I'm going to get some ice cream. Anyone else want anything? My treat!" she offered, figuring that since more likely than not she was going to need a lot of help getting in their good graces now couldn't hurt.

Misaki smiled brightly Satou-senpai had remembered her name, that was a good thing, and they were introducing her to people so that ment that they weren't annoyed with her. She beamed at Shiori, "Pleased to meet you. You're Wakanata-senpai? Sato-senpai mentioned you to me before..."

Misaki stopped short and smiled softly some, "Well he mentioned you. He said you were very nice. Um... can I help you with the ice cream? I'll carry some of it if you like."

There was a knock at the door as Hiroshi pushed it open, his knapsack heavy with his books and notes. "Ah, hello?" He asked. "This is the right spot, yes? The, ah, study group?" His glasses were beginning to slip, so he pushed them up as he entered.

He probably didn't need the study group to prepare for the exams, himself, yet...these other students, most of whom were a year or so behind him save for Satou-san, might. As much as he hated to admit it, he'd be remiss in his duties as an older student if he wasn't on-hand to give help if it was needed. Well...worst case scenario he studied alone in a quiet corner for a bit and wasn't bothered too much. "Satou-san, always a pleasure." He replied politely to the other third-year. He didn't know the other boy terribly well, but they did share classes together. At the very least he'd help take the pressure off of Hiroshi himself.

Kanaye smiled pleasantly at the new arrival. "Hiroshi-kun, it's nice to see you! This is Maeko-chan, Aoi-chan, and Shiori-chan. Speaking of which..." he turned to address Shiori. "I'll just have some strawberry, if you don't mind."

Hiroshi turned to look at the group of assorted second-years. "Ah...yes, of course. Many of the students who come to me looking for assistance with their studies have been referred to me by Akuba-san." He replied. There had been so many students she'd sent him. So very, very many. "A pleasure to meet you all." He moved to sit down away from the other students to study, apart, yet accessible should someone need his help.

Then he blinked, looking up. "What's this? Strawberry?" He asked, curiously. He must have come in in the middle of something.

"Strawberry?" Shiori echoed. She stared down at the floor, mumbling the options to herself. "That sounds good too... maybe I'll get myself strawberry with the hot sauce? Oh, but if there's cinnamon here I'll definitely get that..."

She trailed off, obviously thinking of the different flavors she could have with hot sauce. It was when Akiyama came over and Satou-senpai introduced them all that she was shaken out of her thoughts. Giving him a quick bow, she straightened.

"It's nice to meet you too, senpai!" she chirped. At his question, Shiori blinked. "Mm! I'm treating everyone to ice cream. Would you like some too, senpai?"

And though she had been the one to offer, she couldn't help but hope that no one else came. She didn't have enough money to treat too many people, and like hell was she going to give up her ice cream!

Hiroshi smiled politely at the girl. "Ice cream? Ah, thank you, but no, I'll pass." He was, after all, here to study, not snack. Besides, ice cream ran the risks of getting his notes sticky. "The offer is appreciated, but I'll be fine."

He then began pulling out his notes and a textbook, opening it to begin studying. "I'll be happy to help if anyone really needs my assistance." He told the other assembled students. If they really needed it, of course.

Kiriko felt tired and haggard, though it was visible only in her posture. She didn't like the solemn atmosphere that had been hanging in the air since the passing of that second year student - sure, it was sad (and somewhat mysterious), but she hadn't known the kid and she was fairly sure that at least half of his mourners hadn't, either. Midterms only exacerbated the problem - the air around the school just felt heavy, and, unable to get much peace of mind, Kiriko decided that ice cream was clearly the best solution.

She stepped through the door with a sigh and stopped upon noticing the small group of students at one of the tables nearby. This was... a study group? She quirked a brow. Who on Earth studies in an ice cream shop? Her eyes passed over each member of the group in turn, lingering on the faces she recognized. That boy from the hall was here, along with Misaki - but what was she doing studying with a group of second years? After ordering, she approached the table, standing over Misaki's shoulder with her cup of pecan swirl topped with caramel in hand.

"These are... yours, senpai?" she asked, her eyes rising from the notes she had been reading to meet Maeko's. After another bite of ice cream, she looked back down to Misaki. "Mind if I join you, Misaki-chan? I haven't had the chance to compare notes with anyone." The question sounded polite enough, but the scrape of an additional chair being dragged over to the table said that Kiriko wasn't really listening for an answer.

"Ikeda-san!" she exclaimed suprised to see her fellow classmate there. Would she think it was weird to be with a bunch of second years. She didn't want people thinking she was better then them. She had kids tell her that in middle school because of her sisters and brother's friends helping her to study back then, and they were older then her.

Blushing some she shook her head, "No I would be very happy if you did Ikeda-chan, I'll get another chair you can have mine."

She got up and pulled up a second chair to sit next to Kiriko and grinned, "Satou-senpai and Maeko-senpai let me use their notes from last year for math. I really need to learn these, I'm terrible with formulas. I can do them on the black board, but when it comes to remembering them, I'm hopeless."

Taking Aoi's seat as soon as it was offered, Kiriko paid little mind to her classmate as she poured over the notes. She knew most of this already, but it couldn't hurt to review where she was shaky, and she had nothing better to do.

"Do you remember the mnemonics we learned for these?" she asked Aoi, picking up a pen and writing them out on the paper nearby. "It isn't too hard, really. How well did you do on the last unit test?"

Misaki pouted some and thought a moment then shook her head, "Not really to be honest. Goes in one ear and out the other, or so Okasan says."

"My sisters are much better at math then I am, and I didn't do too well on the test I think I got like a 30 on it. Sensei said I had to do well on the mid term or he's going to have to tell my family and have me sent to cram school."

"A thirty?!" she repeated with a snort of laughter. Shaking her head, she scribbled a few more things on the paper and then handed it to Aoi. "You should start by looking this over. Let me find some problems to try it with."

Well, she'd never pegged Aoi for a genius, but maybe it would be a good idea to hang out and write out a few more tips for her. Kiriko considered the best way to get through as she took another bite of her ice cream.

"Maybe you should try to associate the formulas with your favourite ice cream flavours," she mused aloud.

Misaki blinked and nodded taking the paper, "Okay. Hummm...really wish I was better at math. But I'm good a measureing though, so that's a plus right?"

"Ice cream flavors, never thought of that before," She admitted and grinned. "Sherberts my altime favorite though."
