WHAT: A very serious query.
WHERE: 2-B Classroom
WHEN: During school, someday between post-Yoshidungeon and pre-Isaodungeon
WHY: When's baseball season again?

Kai caught Toshi at her desk in the morning before class started, and sat down in the empty one in front of her. He looked like he had something important to discuss, and indeed he did when he opened his mouth and asked,

"Nawanaka-san, do you think I could join the Baseball Club for next season?"

"Ooooh, good! I haven't played baseball in forever but I'd like to get into it again!"

Kai leaned back in his seat. "Well, I do have an ulterior motive...uh, you remember my place in there, right?"

Looking around furtively to make sure a certain member of the class wasn't nearby, he leaned in and said, "I didn't realize my subconscious was still all hung up on Inoue-san. Ugh, it's gross, so I thought this might be a way to finally deal with it."

Toshi nodded. She tried not to bring up other people's time in Paradise in conversation, and people didn't usually bring it up themselves. It occurred to her that Kai was probably doing a difficult thing. She propped her face up against a hand, listening.

"I haven't really looked at Masaya-san the same way since then," she admitted to him, "but if you think it would be a good idea to be on a team with him..."
