I'm onto you. (Only not.)
Who: Maeko, Gendou
What: Suspicion.
Where: The student council room.
When: After a meeting.
Why: Because he was called by Policelady and that's weird.

Maeko was silent as always during the council meeting, noting down everything that was said quietly and speaking only to say 'yes' when asked to do something. Get full information about the coach's leaving times from Aomori-sensei. Find information on a range of resturants near to the hotel, allowing for eating options for vegitarians and diabetics. Call them all to confirm that they would be open over the trip days. Update the website again with information on them. Someone had been using the school's chat to harass another student, go through the logs to confirm it, check the ID number of the student who had been using that name a that time. Report them.

That combined with her job and studying meant that she was going to have very little free time indeed over the next few days.

The final bell rang, signalling that clubs were finished, and the council members left the room except or the president.

"Retsu-senpai." She said, scanning once again over the list of things she had to do before she placed it into her bag with the meeting notes. "May I speak to you?"

"Shirow-san. The Detective. She called you to speak to her yesterday, didn't she? Some from my class were called as well." Maeko decided to get straight to the point and come up with a lie to explain why she wanted to know later. "What did you speak about with her?"

Gendou paused and smiled pleasently with Maeko, "Just matters of hand, what the Anti bully club does, how the council deals with your group, etc. That and she asked me about Oubai-san, really not much, just some random stuff."

He grinned at her as he put some files away, "Wh? Does it bother you that she was asking me what the coucil does?"

"The Anti-Bullying club? Surely she would have asked me about something like that?" Maeko said, trying to pick at what he'd given her. Maybe she'd get more information that way.

She shrugged, having used the time while Gendou answered to come up with a reason to ask. "Someone...someone's been spreading a rumour that other people are going to die. Most people are ignoring it but there's a lot of younger students coming to the club who are wanting to play truant because they're scared. I thought if I found out what the detective thinks is going on I'd be able to tell them for sure that they're safe but I don't think she'd give me ansewrs if I asked her directly so I've been asking the people she met with if she said anything about Kei's death at all."

He paused and tilted his head as she spoke. Gendou looked at her kindly though was a bit nervous. If the Detective was stiring up fear then that might cause people to ask the wrong sorts of questions. He sighed some and shook his head, "Well this is a bad spot. We should really put a control on those rumors, we don't want a panic spread."

The older boy frown though at the mentione of Detective Shirow," Just what have they been saying then? She was asking me questions about him too, but I didn't really know the boy that well. Why do you think she's asking about Kei's death anyway? It's not something I think we should get involved in. I mean after all, let sleeping dogs lie and all that."

He shifted some dropping his black notebook and quickly picked it up, "Whoops don't want to loose this."

Maeko shook her head. "I don't think there's much that can be done. If we try to stop people talking about something it'll just make them discuss it more. I think the rumours have already done all the damage they're going to."

"From what I gather she was discussing relationships between various students and Kei. I think she using a random sample to determine the general opinion of the student base upon him. It's probably faster than interviewing everyone in the school." Maeko was quite sure that wasn't how the police did things but that didn't matter too much. Coming off as knowing less than she did about these matters was usually a good thing in a situation like this anyway. "I...think she was asking about Kei's death because that's what she's been assigned to investigate." She said, then nodded in esponse to the last point. "I don't intend on involving myself too much. I just want to know enough so I can tell the swarm of middle-scholers that the club's been getting that they're all safe."

Maeko's eyes left to the notebook but she didn't find it too suspicious. It was normal to carry around notebooks in school. Still, all details were to be examined in a case like this.

"Is it important?" She asked. It was an innocent enough question.

Gendou paused and chuckled, "It's my life in this book, all my homework notes and such." He patted it gently and then looked a bit bored but his eyes didn't quiet match that feeling. Clearly he wasn't being honest about the book.

"Well if the student population likes to talk about the dead then that is their choices. Personally I prefer rumors about the living. But then again that's, what's the word for it, being biased in a way," Gendou chuckled as he checked his notes. "Besides that fact, why should the police care about the relationships that Sato-san had? I mean...clearly it is what she's trying to do. Root out anyone that has a motive to harm him."

He rubbed his head some, "Ugh Middle school how I hated that, why are they coming here anyway, don't they have teachers to talk with?"

Gendou turned to check his book, on the floor, which he missed was a scrap of paper, if it were to be picked up then the reader would notice that it say, "Gets off at 4:30pm, Music room to locker, heads south to dorms, catch by trees before he gets there and talk. Last name is Sato" the signature has been worn off due to touching.

"The middle school teachers have been teling them to talk to thier senpai more, no doubt..." Maeko said, trailing off as she crouched to pick up the note. It was out of habit more than suspicion, it wouldn't do to have the council room messy. She only caught the name 'Sato' on the paper by chance before she moved to hand it to Gendou, but pulled back when she did and quickly scanned the note. It was an incredibly lucky coincidence if he hadn't dropped it on purpose.

"Retsu-senpai?" She asked, voice suddenly sounding far too innocent. "Out of curiosity, what were your relationships with Sato-san like?" She held the paper between forefinger and thumb to let him see that she had it.

Gendou gave a weak nod as he reached to get a book and paused when she asked him the question. Feeling rather annoyed he turned on her an gave a smile that didn't meet his eyes. How the hell did she get that paper? He cursed mentally, if she had it, then it would make him look more suspect and he already had the cop coming down on him.

Relaxing some, though it was clear in his blue eyes that he wasn't pleased, he spoke thoughtfully, "None really. I met him a few times because Ishitaka plays horn there, you know him right? Head of the Basketball team, very tall, very nice fellow, here on a scholarship as well."

Gendou held out his hand, "Now if I can have that back Maeko-chan..."

Maeko's voice became only more unnaturally innocent as she continued to speak and her smile did reach her eyes. She read over the paper again. She didn't know for sure but the context seemed to imply her hunch was right.

"Isn't this shedule for Sato's school day? You're a pretty dilligent president to keep all this information on everyone, you even know his clubs! I guess that's why Detective-san wanted to talk to you, huh? If you knw this much about him." Maeko liked power and she didn't have it often. This was no longer about getting information and more about making the president squirm. "...But I guess it's not really needed anymore, is it? I'll throw it out later."

Gendou's mind was whirling fast. What did she know, not much if she assumed it was that, but if she figured things out then he was royally fucked. Not only him but the person he was closest too as well, and he would never let that happen. He couldn't...not after what he went through to shut Sato-kun up. It had cost him plenty, but it seemed to have worked, and now this girl. She was going to spoil that peace that he had. He wouldn't let her.

With a fast movement Gendou grabbed Maeko by the wrist and pushed the smaller girl into the wall, his eyes narrowed as he spoke in a cold tone, unlike his normal charismatic calm one. His eyes gleemed with an angrer that once released was very hard to shut down. He was not one to make an enemy of.

A smug, simpering, smile streched across his lips as he spoke, "I suggest you just hand it over to me Maeko-chan. I don't know what you're playing at, or what you know, but I'll say this much. Don't go fucking around with me or my personal life. Do you understand. I've worked far to hard to let you or anyone else screw over what I've accomplished, and I'm not letting you get away with thinking that you can simply mock me."

He stared into her eyes, "Yes I had Sato's sechedule, we met once, but that was it, and it was a private matter. One that I think you should leave alone, unless you want me to start spreading stories about your friend Aoi-san. True she's sweet, but it wouldn't take too much to give the impression that she and Sato may have been more then just friends and were doing more then just studying when they were alone. Now hand over the paper."

"Threatening first years isn't behavior that is expected of the president." Maeko snarled, the smile had stayed until the second Misaki's name was mentioned. A reaction like this was proof there was something there. "If you're going to spread stories about someone you should target me. Misa-chan has done nothing to you."

Neither the innocent tone nor the smile returned but Maeko seemed to be making an effort to take control of the situation again . She knew power and she knew that despite being the much smaller of the two and being pinned to a wall she still had it. Threatening Misaki had been a mistake. "I'm going to keep the note and I'm going to find out what happened between you and Sato-san. I'll be happy to keep it to myself when I do find out - and I will find out sooner or later. But you lay one finger on Misa or say one word about her and I will make sure there's not a soul in the school that doesn't know whatever it is you're hiding."

"You have no right to keep that paper!" Gendou told her and pushed her harder against the wall. "Listen I'll be direct with you, mess around with this and keep it up and you will be sorry. You try that Maeko-chan and I will make it look like you are stalking Misaki-chan. Do you really want me to make it so that most think you and Aoi-san are more then just friends?"

He looked her in the face his eyes narrowed and smirking deviously, "You have no idea what I can learn about you or Misaki-chan, Maeko-san. Believe me when I say that this is your only warning. You try to find out anything and I will turn your world upside down. I have the power to do so, and you know it. I don't care who I have to destroy to keep things in order around here, and if your little friend happens to be a casulty of it, well then that's too damn bad."

He threw her back towards the door, "Say a word of this to anyone and I'll make sure that Misaki-chan will be the talk of the school. Do I make myself perfectly clear Maeko?"

"The only thing you've made clear is that you need to be removed." Maeko said, regaining her balence and backing towards the door, "You're just another person trying to hurt her..."

She paused for a second and then looked up, eyes full of hate. "I'll call your bluff, senpai. Anything you can do to her, I've done worse and I can do worse to you. I can control any damage you can cause because you - you're foriegn. There's a lot of people who resent having some halfie bossing them around. No matter what you say I can change it into the foreigner abusing the cute first year. If you touch me again - and the only way you're getting this is to physically take it out of my hands - it will be the foreigner attacking me. I am the one with the power here. You have nothing."

She smiled once again. "Now. I'll keep this and I'll keep it to myself. You say a word about my Misa-chan and this gets spread, anything I find gets spread and I *personally* will put an axe in your pretty brains."

And with that she started to back out of the door, not taking her eyes off Gendou and pressing buttons on her cellphone madly.

That was strike two in Gendou's mind. He could take a lot of abuse, but being treated in such a manner for being foriegn. It made him sick. Clenching his fists he stared at her. All the work he'd done, all the scrafices he'd made to make himself known. And now this littl bitch was going to screw it up. He wouldn't let it happen.

He trembled and pulled out his phone and leaned against the wall feeling limp. Tears stung his eyes...what had he just done. He'd let his feeling get the better of him and now...

He dialed a number and bit his lip. "H-Hello...yeah it's me...I think we might have a problem. No...It's not her...there's a second year, she might know...No look I'll take care of it okay. I took care of Sato-san didn't I? Just let me do what I have to."

He hung up and trembled. What was he going to do?
