Ikebana Club
Who: Kiriko, Kozue, Misaki, and open
What: lkebana club
When: After school, I forget the day.
Where: Classroom 2-G
Why: Because it's a fun past time and a good place to talk over what's been happening.

The small unused classroom sat on the west end of the second floor of the main building of Nanakamado. It's quiet corner and larger windows provided excellent light to allow for the members Ikebana club to create living works of art from the flowers that they received from the Green house. It was here that Misaki had put up colorful papers so that the room had a more cheerful quality and, when the light hit it right, created a serene sense of stained glass.

Misaki was in here early setting up for the Ikebana club meeting. She had out various vases and some new flowers that her brother couldn't sell at his shop. It was a plus having a florist as a sibling for this reason. There were always fresh, or slightly fresh, flowers that could be used as decoration for the practice arranging over the final product. Smiling some Misaki sighed. She loved coming to the Flower club as there was less stress then the cooking club. It was just a nice place to go, and she liked the members.

Waiting on the side she wondered if the other girls were going to be early. Her mind was wondering on Toru, his actions seemed so...wrong. Closing her eyes she hoped that he wouldn't be in any trouble, and made a mental note to go visit him alone after the club meeting. For now she would wait and talk to Kiriko and Kozue about what was going on, and what they could do to figure things out.

Though Kiriko had made a point of coming early (she wasn't the club leader, but she might as well be with how much of a slacker the actual leader was), Misaki had still bested her. She noted what her classmate had done as she stepped into the room - leave it to Misaki to decorate, but given the club's theme, it seemed fairly appropriate. Noting the coloured paper and the vases surrounding the room, Kiriko helped herself to one of the loose flowers, trimming it and sticking it into her hair so the blossom showed where her pin normally did.

"Did someone ask you to do this, Misaki-chan?" she asked by way of greeting as she moved to the front of the classroom and started flipping through her notebook looking for the club's iternary.

Misaki glanced over her shoulder at Kiriko who had just come in and then smiled brightly, "Oh, no, I just felt like it. It always seems that people aren't paying much mind to the enviroment around here, so I thought why not make it colorful since we're working with colorful things."

She grinned and pulled out a ribbon, then tied it fast to a comb she had in her bag, with a touch of hot glue that they had for some of the decorations, she made a ribbon peice to go with the flower in Kiriko's hair. "There! Oh and um our president isn't coming today. Something about not being well, she said for you to take charge today."

After all the things that had happened at the restaurant, Kozue had a gut-deep inclination to sneak home instead of attending the Flower Arranging club: at first, the thoughts of trying to make conversation with Kiriko and Misaki about irises and greenery and the right lengths for flowers was a nearly ridiculous idea. And more than a little daunting, to be honest: but she had said she'd be there, to Kiriko's face no less, and not attending after all this... well, that would have been more awkward perhaps.

So, after taking a break in the corridor after class, to send a few text messages to her boyfriend-of-the-moment, Kozue made her way to 2-G and slipped inside. "Hello," she said quietly, looking around. Oh - it looked like they were the only ones here so far. Oh.

She smiled anyway. "Good afternoon."

"Good afternoon Kozue-chan! Glad you could make it. I do hope we get more people then us. But I'm sure it'll be fun," Misaki grinned and pulled out a few flowers. "I don't suppose you two want to help me in getting things arranged for the others when they get here...if they get here that is."

She pushed back a lock of hair, "Come to think of it, I know Sensei said there may be new members coming in. Wonder if we're going to get anyone that knows how to work with flowers?"

"I don't mind helping. Where do you want things?"

Come to think of it, the room seemed to be pretty well set up already - there was colored paper on the walls and everything. It looked pretty, and muted the harsh afternoon light a little bit. And atmosphere was important for artistic pursuits, she knew, from another point of grand-maternal lecture that Kozue could recite verbatim.

As far as other members showing up, the small girl shrugged: "It's still early, I guess. Maybe a few more girls will arrive." Which wasn't exactly what she was thinking, of course - her thoughts tended more towards Well, this is all the attendance we're getting.

"Well I know that Sensei said something about making sure there were enough flowers for everyone and that Kiriko-chan should get a list of names for any new members. She also mentioned something about a contest today, first prize gets movie tickets, or something." Misaki said smiling and tapped her chin. "Um...I think it has to be voted on by people coming here and writing down which one they liked the best."

She glanced at Kiriko, "What does the schedule say, Kiriko-chan?"

Ah, flower arranging club. It was relaxing, even though he was probably the only thorn among the flowers (heh). He suspected if there were any other guys, any at all, they never came. Not that it was a bad thing, it just felt weird sometimes. He slid the door open and stuck his head in, just to check how many actually came. He quietly noted the coloured papers -- it was a nice touch.

"Only the three of you?"

"Ah...Tanaka-san!" Misaki jumped some hearing his voice then smiled gently when she noticed he noticed the colored paper. She smiled brightly and nodded. "Yes so far. But more for us then. We're going to be working on some designs."

Maybe a few more girls will arrive was apparently wrong - at least partially, Kozue reflected, as the only boy she'd ever seen at Ikebana Club poked his head into the room. "Good afternoon, Tanaka-senpai," she said, bowing, with a smile.

She peeked back over at Misaki, who appeared to be entirely in the know: that surprised her, since it had been Kiriko who had gotten her to come here in the first place. "Did the Club Leader assign any specific designs or schools? Or... anything else?" The last part came out sounding rather damning against the student who was in charge, and Kozue felt bad momentarily: certainly, if she was the Leader of the Ikebana Club, she'd probably skip as often as she could without getting in trouble, too.

Kiriko's annoyed expression - not uncommon on its own - was enough to answer Kozue's question, but she shook her head and spoke anyway. "Club leader left me with nothing. I made an outline, though really I'd rather just open it up to suggestions and do a free-for-all. We could all pick a school and see who comes out with the best arrangement, or something like that."

A mild shrug and she nodded to Tanaka in acknowledge. Kind of a weird kid, certainly a bit antagonistic, but who was she to complain about membership?

"That sounds like a great idea, and we could ask the others who they felt made the most interesting creation. Just to have a little fun with it." Misaki beamed. "Oh and I'll buy a gift card for the winner."

Yuuto let himself in, scratched teh back of his head for a moment in thought. Personally, he wasn't sure how well Misaki's idea would go -- how many people came to club these days, actually -- but said nothing about it. "Either Sogetsu or Ohara? Ikenobo's got a lot more rules."

"I want to do Sogetsu!" Misaki chirped up cheerfully and smiled brightly. Looking over at Yuuto she asked, "How about you Yuuto-san?"

Yuuto shrugged. "I'm fine with either," he replied, turning to look at Kozue and Kiriko. "And you two?"

"I think I'd like to do Shoka, if you don't mind, Ikeda-san?" Kozue looked over at Kiriko, waiting for her to state her preference, whatever it might be.
