Who: Masami, Toshimi
What: Not REPRESSREPRESSREPRESSing stuff
When: A couple days after Masami's dungeon
Where: Masami's room
Why: Because we really should've done this a while ago

Masami was still recovering from her almost two weeks in Paradise. The cold had subsided somewhat but she was still sleeping for the majority of each day, and not really leaving her room very much. Over the past few days a few people had visited her, including Renju, Shirou, and the rest of the girl's kendo team. Sadly, of those, Renju's visit had been the only one that hadn't only helped exhaust her even more. The kendo team was like a live four person manzai act, and Shirou was... Shirou.

With all the recent visits, Masami wasn't really surprised when she heard a knock on the door. She climbed out of bed and opened the door to see who'd come this time.

On the other side of the threshold stood an awkward Toshimi, still dressed in her school uniform. She carried a grocery bag in one hand and two strawberry crepes in the other.

When Masami opened the door, she sized the other girl up briefly and bowed politely. Had she looked that exhausted when she'd gotten back to Iburi? "Good afternoon, Sakuraba-san. Have you been well?" Toshi knew the answer to this, and Masami probably knew she knew, but society was society, and Toshi had to wait for Masami to invite her in.

Toshimi wasn't one of the people that Masami would've expected to come visit, but it was a welcome surprise, for sure. "Good afternoon, Nawanaka-san. I've been... Well, if I said I've been OK, I'd be lying. I've been exhausted. And sick. But... I guess other than that I've been OK."

Masami wasn't saying anything that Toshi didn't most likely know already - Toshi had been in Paradise herself before so she probably understood just how exhausting it was - but since the question was asked Masami answered it.

She opened the door fully and motioned for Toshi to come in. "Can I get you anything? I have tea," Masami offered as she sat down on her bed. "Oh, you can sit if you want..."

"Umm... thanks for visiting."

Toshi nodded grimly. She hadn't much felt like talking to anyone after the beach, and she wondered vaguely if she was invading Masami's privacy, but she had a job to do. On some level it was good she was being honest, right?

She bowed politely and said the compulsory, "Excuse me for intruding."

She took a seat next to Masami. "You don't have to go through any trouble. It's nothing, really..."

She put her bags down and held out one of the crepes to Masami. "I don't know if you like sweets, but..."

Masami took the crepe from Toshi. "Thanks," she said politely.

Masami still wondered a lot about Toshi. Her own insecurities had prevented her from visiting after the other girl's stay in Paradise, and she felt more than a little guilty about it. She'd avoided Toshi for so long just because she was bothered by the similarities they had. It was time to change. But first, there was something she felt she needed to get out of the way.

"I'm not really sure how to say this, but... thanks for going in there to get me out. And sorry for all the trouble I've caused," she said with a bow. "The shadow... she didn't hurt you too much, did she?"

"Of course." Toshi took a bite out of her own crepe and looked pleased with it. They had cooled down a bit since she'd received them [from one of the places she'd worked over the summer], but Toshi thought they were still pretty good.

"You don't need to apologize," she said, going for her go-to phrase, "Paradise isn't real..." Well. She couldn't really pretend that it wasn't real, not anymore... "That's to say, you were thrown in, weren't you?" Toshimi felt awkward as soon as the words were out of her mouth. She hadn't meant for it to sound so much like a question. "It's not your fault."

"I think everyone is okay, anyway," she shrugged. She wasn't so much worse for the wear than usual after Paradise.
