[Toru is obviously searching for something in among the bookstore's narrowly-spaced shelves. He reaches for the top shelf, but his finger slips and a number of paperbacks come tumbling down upon his head.]

Aaah! W-wait, I-

[He's cut off by the rustling of paper and the crash of book spines on both him and the floor.]

[The noise catches Yoshimi's attention (and the shop attendant's, though Yoshi waves him off before he can get too worried - which he has a certain reputation for, because yes, it's that sweater kid), and she peers around the corner of the next aisle over.]

"...you know, after that thing with the vending machines, I can't even say anything about this."

[Not that she'd be particularly tempted anyway, but the pot-kettle relationship still leaves a smirk tugging at her lips.]

"You alright?"

	[Toru's got a bit of a deer-in-headlights look on his face as he turns to look over to Yoshimi.] "Oh! Ah- yeah, I'm... I'm fine. It's the books that aren't..." [He makes a sheepish gesture and then bends down to pick up the books that he knocked down.] "Didn't mean to cause a disturbance like this... 	[Toru speaks as he reshelves the books above his head.] "Oh, I, uh... heard there were some classic manga from the 1980s here. Original printing run and everything. Wanted to see if there was anything worth adding to the collection." [Once the books are back in place, he moves along to continue his search, still talking.] "What about you, Tachibana-san?" "Oh. Neat."

[She's missing a little of her usual energy, but she keeps up, glancing at the shelves.]

"Well, since Sagaki-senpai figured out the deal with our numbers, I've been trying to read up on tarot and everything. It might help with, er..."

[She gestures vaguely. The team really needs to agree on a euphemism for Paradise that doesn't sound totally suspicious.]

"...so I looked around online a little, but I really want to be able to take notes in the margins of something, since a lot of our experience is, um, sort of unique to us."

"Nothing that's useful in a practical way, I don't think."

[Yoshimi peeks around the corner to make sure that the shopkeeper is still ignoring them, and, satisfied that he is, she pulls a list out of her pocket.]

"I found out this much, though. There are twenty-one trump cards in a deck, plus the one that Sato-senpai would have had, and the seventeen of us all match up with one of them. I wrote down who goes with which one, but I don't have a clue why the, um..."

[Another vague, sweeping gesture before she decides to just go for it.]

"Why or how the angels would use them to keep track of us. It seems kind of random."

"That's the thing - if there's a pattern to when people are going in, this isn't it. It's just been random numbers."

[Yoshimi points out a sequence printed at the bottom of the list: "17, 0, 13, 9, 1...", ending with a 7 and a series of blanks.]

"If there's any kind of weird mathematical significance to it, I'd expect Sagaki-senpai to have worked it out by now. And it doesn't tell you what your Persona does, because I have the same card as Furukawa-senpai, but remember how different things were when I had his Persona?"

[She sighs; there's still a part of her that longs for the Ziohno days, and her research sounds useless at best.]

"We're nine and seventeen, the same as those tiles that we got. The matching cards are the Hermit and the Star, but I couldn't tell you what that means."
