The pink deepened, then gradually faded after a bit when it became clearer to Renju that Kozue was more focused on her clothes than on her. Still, it was the closest she'd ever gotten to a compliment on her looks (not saying much, granted, given that the next runner-up was "that skinny boy"), and so she'd take what she could get.
She tapped the tip of her toe against the floor a few times, then looked at the socks appraisingly, entirely unaware of where Kozue's own gaze was directed. "I believe so. These did seem a little too long. I had to push them down, but they still look strange." She took a closer look at Kozue's; trying to figure out the general look helped focus her mind and keep it away from... things she hadn't had much luck distracting herself from for more than a few minutes.
Were other people like this all the time? It would explain a lot.
"Are you supposed to wear them above the knee like that? I mean, I've seen it before, of course, but it seems like they'd get in the way."
