Who: Masami, Renju
What: Discussion
When: Some point after Seiko's dungeon
Where: Butterfly Room
Why: Issues need to be talked about

It was rare for Renju to want to talk to Masami in private - or at least, it was rare for her to specifically request doing so in the butterfly room. Not quite sure what was going on, Masami made her way there after class, though she had to stop when a certain hot-blooded, loud kouhai found her and asked if she was going to kendo practice.

After telling him that she had something else to do and wouldn't make it to practice, Masami left the somewhat disappointed, but no less hot-blooded kouhai and made it the rest of the way to the butterfly room without incident. She stepped in. "Sonozaki-san? What did you want to talk about?"

The Masamidoll chased the hands an entire lap around the perimeter of the room before finally the hands stopped and bowed repeatedly to it, one of them scampering off and coming back to the doll with an offering of clothes. The doll, appeased, left the hands and went off somewhere unseen to change, emerging after a few moments in a doll-sized black kimono. Once again it hopped up onto the couch and began poking at Masami.

Masami herself, however, continued to ignore the doll and its usual antics with the hands. "How I was acting in Yukizaki-senpai's place? Do you mean... while under the effects of the spell? Or... that hat?" Masami didn't even want to think about that stupid hat; it was probably a mutual feeling amongst the members of the team who'd been unfortunate enough to be stuck wearing it. There was, of course, the unspoken third option of neither, but Masami didn't want to bring that up either. Besides, she'd done nothing bad while she had control of herself... right?

"Thanks for the concern, Sonozaki-san. I'm doing OK, though. You don't have to worry about me." Again, it seemed almost as if Masami was trying to convince herself with what she was saying.

Either Masami genuinely hadn't noticed any of this, and there was some major denial going on, or she was trying to hide it. Neither boded particularly well, and where a lesser soul might have been deterred, Renju felt spurred to press on. "Neither," she responded, pushed to further bluntness by the faint tinge of frustration she was beginning to feel with the situation. "Both of those were explainable." Mostly. Probably. "I won't speculate on the reason why, but you were acting somewhat... strangely in there, particularly around Sagaki-senpai."

She frowned and picked at her sleeve, feeling vaguely ill at ease pursuing the subject, and not for the reason others might assume. "It may be nothing, but I'd be more at ease knowing that there's nothing being suppressed that may cause issues later on." The Renjudoll, after a fit of frantic pointing and arm-flailing, had finally given up and was sitting on the corner of the couch cushion, sulking irritably.

Masami pushed back a feeling of dread, forcing herself to maintain that calm facade she usually kept. She couldn't recall doing anything... objectionable in Seiko's area; at least, nothing related to Renju. Mention of Tom, though, did stir up some feeling of irritation, however slight.

"...Sagaki-senpai? That's... it's nothing," Masami said. She was lying through her teeth. It was definitely something, but not something she knew how to deal with. However, given that one particular flashback they'd been shown in Tom's dungeon, she didn't think Renju was the right person to ask about it.

Besides, her own feelings weren't important compared to the task at hand. She could just keep herself controlled and do what she had to do, like always, right?

Renju was beginning to have the vague, unpleasant feeling of getting further from the point than she'd been when she started, partly by her own doing. It was possible there was something going on regarding Tom, certainly, but picking at that would likely be useless or worse, and it wasn't the specific thing she was concerned about either way.

A short silence passed before she broke it with a sharp sigh. "Regardless," she answered in a tone that clearly indicated that she didn't believe a word of it, "even setting aside the matter of senpai, there are still the other issues to be considered. Even if you would prefer not to discuss it with me, it should at least be acknowledged. If not for your own sake, then at least for ours."

But she was starting to repeat herself, and getting the sense that she wasn't going to get anything accomplished beyond talking in circles. Frustrating, but there it was. She stood up, nearly bumping the Renjudoll off the couch, and offered a small bow. "That was all I wanted to discuss. I apologize again for keeping you from practice, Sakuraba-san."
