Changed my mind. IDOL EVENT.
WHO: The whole school!
WHAT: Kickoff of the idol event!
WHERE: The Auditorium!
WHEN: Last Period!
WHY: Because there can be only one!

Noriko's cold smile softened into an amused grin. "Suit yourself."

Hands came off the notebook, and he leaned back in his chair. "Is it hard, trying to live seven decades in the past? Your idea of culture is laughably outdated, and useless, barring that you get yourself a time machine. Competitions like this... they're the heart and soul of today's Japan. You should get used to that."

Now he was focused on Kouchisei. This was far more interesting than waiting for the idols.

What Norio had earned was to be ignored. What Kouchisei saw this idol contest as was the narrowing of the mind and the spirit. The idea this culture, with its technology and progress, multilated the old traditions was an abhorrent one, and people were happy to let it go on. He refused to let any of it blow him off his feet.

All it was, in the end, was enslavement to another nation's culture.

Idiots.
