WAITING FOR THE CURTAIN TO COME UP

Class 1-B always had the best seats for any school presentation - front and centre. This was partially because it made the most numerical sense to put 1-B there, and partially because Kiriko had persuasively made that argument to the planning committee earlier in the year when a career fair she'd been interested in had passed through. She'd grabbed a spot in the second row and was settling into her seat now, glancing back to see 2-B filing in behind her. She already had a headcount of absent parties for her class and was doing much the same for the class now seating themselves behind her.

She turned back to look at the drawn curtains and rested her chin on her palm, the tiniest of smirks creeping across her lips.

Kajiko sat herself in with class 1-B. Oh, it was obvious that she wasn't in that class and therefore should've been with the rest of class 3-B. However, Kajiko knew that Gendou would be in this farce of a competition, and she had gone through all the trouble to secretly sign him up just for the purpose of watching him humiliate himself like the fool he was. No way in hell was she not going to have the perfect front row seating for that glorious moment.

Besides, nobody was going to call her of all people out on it. Having a reputation, however unfounded, for being a vindictive diabolical evil genius had its perks, after all, and it wasn't like she was skipping it outright. She was just... commandeering better seating.

Kiriko noticed.

Kajiko was right next to Kojima on her list of people not to screw around with, and while she didn't have her eye out for any snakes in the grass, Kajiko was practically right in front of her. Kiriko lifted a brow.

"Yamaguchi-san? Don't you belong somewhere in the back?"

"Ikeda-san," Kajiko regarded Kiriko coolly. Truth be told she hadn't quite expected Kiriko to speak up, but at the same time she wasn't really surprised about it either. What was, was. She turned back to face the first year.

"Yes, it's true that 3-B's supposed to be a ways back. I figured though, that I should make myself easy to see for Sakuraba. She's, sadly, in this against her will, so the least I could do for the next-in-line for my position is show my support, wouldn't you agree?"

Kajiko made a quick glance around before continuing, "Besides, since it seems your class has some... truants, I'm sure it doesn't matter much if I take one of those vacancies."
