Who: Seiko and Toru
When: After Idol signup
What: Idol coaching
Where: Toru's dorm room
Why: Seiko secretly likes making awkward teenage boys into catboy Idols.

Seiko stood outside the door of Toru's room with a large bag over her shoulder. Having promised Toru she'd help she had tirelessly been working on finding out everything she could to help him. Fitting in research between classes, extra study sessions and maintaining a social life. The results of all this research was now in the bag she carried. She knocked loudly on the door.

"Hey Toru-kun! Its me! I'm here to help!" She called through the door.

Still very uncomfortable, but trying to smile, Toru sat down on his bed as far from Seiko as he could manage. It wasn't that he didn't like her... she just made him feel so constantly uncomfortable. Compensation came in the form of laserlike attention.

But the DVDs reminded Toru of his other problem: he hated idols. Choraloids were alright, but real-life idols were just embarrassing in their imperfection. His face contorted a bit at the thought of going up on stage like one of them. "O-oh, great! We can watch some of that for inspiration!" he choked out.

The topic of songs was a better distraction. "Er, I-I was thinking of using "Kind Omgel's Skleep," from Disco Revelations Adventelion... i-it's a classic, and it's one of my favorites to sing along w- e-er, I like it a lot!"

Drawings of costumes was the best thing yet. "O-oh, let me see! I'll be able to pick one out, I think!"

Seiko watched Toru carefully, it was fairly clear he was uncomfortable around her, and even more uncomfortable about this whole idol ordeal.

"Well I had to find some proper references, I don't really follow Idols that much really." She said with a wave of her hand. "And Princess Solar is cute anyway..." Seiko's affection for cat themed things becoming painfully apparent again.

Seiko frowned "Is that the one with the big-" she waved her arms in what she assumed was an excellent robot mime. "I think I remember the song though! Its really pretty right?"

She moved over from the spare bed to hand Toru the folder full pictures from magazines and of anime characters surprisingly neatly organised and labelled with a few notes by the sides of each in Seiko's neat girly handwriting.

Hopping back onto the spare bed she smiled at Toru. "Once you have an idea of what you like then we can go to Kai-kun and see what he can do."

Toru nodded again, just as nervous as before. After little to no deliberation, he popped open one of the DVD boxes and put the disc into his DVD player. Rather than waiting until he could actually hit play, he returned his attention to the girl in his room.

"Robots, yeah. It's a classic!" The sparkle in Toru's eyes lent an air of sincerity to Toru's statement. "A-and the song is a classic, too!"

He began to hum a few bars of it before realizing exactly what he was doing, which was embarrassing yourself in front of a pretty upperclassman who's judging you as we speak (as the nagging voice near the back of his mind would say). He blushed furiously until Seiko handed him the folder, at which point he became engrossed again.

There was definitely a common theme: cats. Every photo, screenshot, character sheet, and clipping seemed to feature some catlike element or another. Toru didn't necessarily object; cats were fine, too. On the other hand, one normally saw catgirls. Did Seiko want him to be a catboy? Didn't she realize that those normally showed up in the kinds of manga and anime that... Don't really want to go down that path, huh. But he stopped himself. Seiko was his only hope. He had to go along with it. So with a sense of finality, Toru pulled a magazine clipping out of the set and wincingly handed it over to his senpai.

"I-is this okay, Tank-senpai?"

Seiko grinned. "Yeah I used to watch it! I love that song!" not judging Toru at all for his sudden humming outburst, and tactfully pretended to not notice the blush that crept across his face.

"I was trying to find something different from what other people would choose." Seiko explained waving a hand at the folder as Toru browsed. "Because something really flambouyant is more Kanaye-kun's style, and I thought something too mainstream wouldn't really stand out..." she waved her hands towards her head as if indicating cat ears. "This idea seemed to have enough difference from other idols."

She took the clipping from Toru and glanced down at it. "Oh sure whatever you like! I'll ring Kai-kun after this to sort out if he can do this for you soon enough. He also promised to make me a cat-ish costume so you won't feel quite so alone." She grinned brightly at Toru twirling a lock of her hair around her finger.

"I guess we should watch these DVDs..."
