WHAT IS THIS.
A bag has been left in Renju's desk. It's a small paper bag with 'Wisteria Field' printed on it.

Inside it is a selection of thin, rounded squares of wood, each bearing a roman numeral and attached to a keychain. On the other sides, names are burned into them. 'Ikeda Kiriko' is burned into 'I' all the way up to 'Misaki Aoi' in 'XIX'. The names on VI and XV are burned away.

I, II, III, IV, VIII, IX, X, XIII, XIV and XIX all feel lighter. The others are far heavier than one would expect a small square of wood to be. The exception is XII (Sonozaki Renju), which is so light it's impossible to feel any weight from it at all.

The price tags look like they're still attached at first. However on the lighter ones it's clear someone just wrote a yen symbol in front of a date, each date corresponding to a disappearance. The heavier ones have thier prices listed as all 0s.

In case it wasn't obvious, a small note is scrawled on the bag. 'don't take to that place.'

Renju was discreet enough to tuck the bag into her satchel and ferry it back home before examining it in the safety of her dorm.

It was puzzling. There were those Roman numerals again, and again she waas associated with the number 12. She made the connection quickly with the weights of the keychains and the pricetag "dates"; once she looked at her own, the other patterns fell into place easily enough.

"But what do they mean?" She tapped her own against her desk and sighed, staring at the small piles she'd sorted them into. This was an obvious sign of Fujiwara's involvement, but what were they, and why couldn't she take them into Paradise? It was a mystery--but it was one, at least, she could put to the rest of the team.
