QUESTIONNING
Who: Team + Seiji
What: Answers maybe? Finally?
Where: Butterfly Room
When: After plotdungeon
Why: So Renju didn't lose her persona for nothing.

Seiji's paradise-related concidence, already suffering from proximity to Kiriko, seemed to give out completely as they left Paradise. The only thing he said on the way to the butterfly room was uncoherent mumbling about how he missed Anna-nee.

The hands regarded him with caution and confusion and Renju with apparent concern as they entered. He stood next to a particularly sweet couch, looking very much like a small animal trapped in headlights.

"um. so. what should I tell you?"

Toru looked hardly more comfortable than Seiji did, but was at least making a game attempt at putting on a confident air. This mostly resulted in him sidling to within five feet of Seiji, and looking vaguely inquisitive instead of vaguely horrified.

"I guess you could start with... everything. W-we don't really know anything at all."

After stroking his chin for a moment, he looked a bit more resolute.

"Er, well... first off, why are you doing all of this?"

Kiriko was leaning against the door, almost as if she was concerned that Seiji would be making a sudden dash for it. She had also been somewhat worried that he'd disintegrate or something when they brought him into the Butterfly Room, but the fact that he could be there without much harm was some comfort - this was supposed to be a place free of enemies, and the only shadows that were ever allowed in behaved themselves (and even made decent tea, if what she had heard about the hands was to be believed).

She nodded to Toru when he spoke, confirming that his question was a good one.

"We'd also like to know what it is you're doing, exactly. Are people with personas being targeted? How are people being put into Paradise? Do we gain some kind of immunity once we've defeated our shadow, and that's why we don't go in twice? Why is this being done indirectly when they've made it clear they can just appear and wipe us out?"

Tom stood quietly nearby. He was ready to fight if need be. Certainly Mikio didn't seem like he would attack, but getting Renju's persona might have been what let him into the butterfly room without incident. Alternately, there was nothing to suggest that Seiji's comrades wouldn't come to prevent him from giving up any information. It seemed likely.

He shifted slightly as Kiriko and Toru asked Seiji questions. At no point had Mikio suggested he had anything to do with people being thrown into Paradise. From Tom's point of view the more important questions should have been about their enemies.

But he remained quiet, it wouldn't do to make them seem fractured in front of someone who could potentially report back any of the groups weaknesses. And overloading Mikio with questions would just result in the boy stuttering and confused.

Kiriko's move was wise, Seiji had indeed been eyeing the door. He continued to fidget as questions were asked.

"u-um...but I don't know everything." He mumbled at first in the most apologetic tone he could muster. "um, they wanted something getting rid of. i- it might have been you guys."

He nodded to Kiriko. "it's- um, it's more like people with the potential. mostly, anyway." He fidgetted and then tugged on his eyelid for a second before poking himself in the eyes and deciding that was maybe a bad idea. "i can see it, when people might be able to use things like that. even if they can't do it right now i can tell whether they ever might be able to and the gym- aomori-senpai would never have been able to use one of those."

He shrugged at the next question and then went back to pokering the eye he had poked with his hands. "i think they just go through doors. i never got told much about that bit, i just had to lock the gym doors this one time. they didn't trust me with anything important 'cause i was kind of bad at everything."

He shook his head. "no way. defeating it doesn't really do much. you can get stuck there as long as there's something there to keep you. i guess people decided they didn't like what kept them there so they stopped it. that's why people havn't got stuck again."

He shrugged again at the last question. "maybe they're kind of bored?" He scratched his ear. "maybe the rescuing's what they want."

"What do you mean, 'maybe?!" she snapped. "You're one of them, shouldn't you know exactly what they want?!"

Kouchisei had been standing in the corner of the butterfly room, listening to Seiji's explainations and opinions, watching him fidget, shaking his head and lying. Transferring his weight his arms folded and he was now watching the younger boy without a word coming from his mouth.

His fingers were picking the cuffs of his uniform and keeping its status as a distraction; he was visibly surprised only a few people in the room were frustrated. His gaze moved, taking in the room from left to right, because too few people were being sensible, and he then walked over to Mikio and stood a few inches from his face.

Space? The only way to acquire it would be to fall backwards over the couch, or sit on its arm.

"Or for that matter, know exactly who they are," he said.

"i-i really don't know that." Seiji mumbled. "i-i'm not e-even sure how much they know. all i know was what i got told or what i learned from looking around in that pla-" And then there was suddenly a Kou in his personal space. "-hello."

He shuffled uncomfortably and tried to move back but his plan was thwarted by a couch.

"um. i-i really don't know that...!"

Tom raised an eyebrow at Seiji's admission. The "Angels" appeared to be more involved then the group had expected. Though it still didn't quite make sense.

"You should know who you're contact is Mikio-san. WHo told you to lock the gym door, who told you to place the shadow infused good luck pendants on people's desk? Did they give you a list of people to give them to?" Tom paused and thought about it. He put a finger to his chin.

"The "Angels" said that they were trying to kill us because we shouldn't be in Paradise. But if what you say is true, then that group was purposefully responsible for the events which gave everyone their personas in the first place."

"Hey! Should we even be discussing this?" A yell to get attention, and then Kouchisei's gaze moved from Tom to Seiji. "We are giving him everything they need to know to get rid of us."

He did not normally condone violence, but when his life was threatened and that of, well, his friends, he was left with no choice. The temptation was there to leave him in the room with Reizo. He'd stopped and thought about it several times. He was not a barbarian. Violence got nothing from nobody. How would they even know that anything they gleaned from it was the truth?

"Is there anything he can use to get messages out? Contact someone? If he's in contact there might be evidence."

"They already know who most of us are, if not all. I don't think we're likely to be put in any more danger from this, regardless of whether he's telling the truth."

Renju had been leaning on the opposite edge of the couch, idly kicking one of its legs. Even here she felt a bit out of place, a sensation that had weakened slightly but not entirely disappeared since they'd left Paradise. She had questions of her own, to be sure--quite a few--but so did everyone else. She could be patient, but she'd find an opening eventually.

"But you're right in that contacts might be useful. We already know that Fujiwara-san is suspicious..."

Kai was there, but felt completely out of the loop. His senses were overloaded with strange and foreign things, and at the moment he could barely think straight, much less think coherently enough to question somebody.

He shuffled awkwardly at the back of the crowd, feeling like he should say something, before quietly moving to the very back, where at least he wouldn't get in the way.

Maybe keeping his mouth shut and listening would be the best option for now.

Misaki had been standing next to Kai listening to all of it and watching Seiji twich it made her twich too. She rubbed her arm some and then winced when he poked himself in the eye and said in a worried voice, "Seiji-kun, don't do that, you'll hurt your eye and won't be able to see."

She had been listening to everything silently and trying to make heads or tails of it. So, he can see these aura's too? And Seiji-kun's the one that locked us in?

The comment at Aomori made her blink, "So...what do you mean by Aomori Sensei couldn't have used one of those? Was he a persona user like us? And...is it like a show for them? Entertainment? That's rather cruel don't you think."

She tilted her head and asked, "And how did you get involved in the first place? Did they come to you or did you find them?"
