Perhaps Jay should have gone after one of those stupid normies but then again they were going around in groups and the more people there were around, the more likely she was to found and attacked herself. Vampires weren’t exactly the most friendly of the supernatural beings, and they brought a lot of fear with them. Heck, if she wasn’t one, she’d probably be a little bit afraid by them. But now? Vampires weren’t really all that bad. She could either hate herself for what she had no control over or she could accept it and move on. And she chose to do the latter, so she wasn’t going to feel sorry for the fact that people were going to be uncomfortable with her being comfortable with who she was. Normies were the least of her concern at the moment, despite the fact that she probably should have been more afraid of them. If she was caught feeding, her life could be over, just when she really got a chance at one, even if it was nocturnal.
Strength in numbers was something Jay was taught as well, but something she often disregarded. Especially now. Even if she didn’t really trust herself, she trusted herself less in a group of people when she was this hungry. Someone had to sacrifice a little bit of blood for her to survive, and it was going to happen with or without their permission. It wasn’t like she was planning on killing anyone, or attacking the same person over and over again, but winged guy looked like he could deal with this sort of thing. So why not him?
She had no idea how to do this though, and even if she wasn’t experienced in luring a human and biting them, she figured it wouldn’t be too hard. She had caught aninmals before now, and that wasn’t too hard. Besides, she was getting a better handle on all of the other things that came along with being a vampire besides no longer having a beating heart and feasting off of blood. This couldn’t be too hard. She could do this!
Who would have thought that a vampire needed to have a pep talk in order to attack someone? Definitely not her. Especially with how well she had been adapting, she figured she had this in the bag. But as she walked closer and closer to the guy, she started to feel uncertain. He could always get away, or she could get hurt. Could vampires really get hurt? She had no idea. Maybe he couldn’t get hurt either. Maybe angels were just perfect all of the time. Just don’t look him in the eye and you’ll be fine.
Getting the idea that this would somehow be easier if she talked to him like she knew him, if she had his attention to begin with, she called out to him. “Hey wings!” Wings? You couldn’t have thought of anything better to call him? Seriously? “I mean dude.” Like that’s so much better. She tugged on the hem of her baseball shirt, trying to look more casual than she was feeling. Don’t make friends with this guy, don’t find out his name, just bite and run. It’s like McDonalds, only, arguably healthier for you.
