Action Scene: On the way to the Great Hall

Lucius led the way through the hallways of Hogwarts. He hadn't felt this good in a long time. He was alive with his family behind him. He could deal with the details of the Ministry later. If he could do it before during the first war, he could do it again.

	Draco swallowed. "I would like to apologize for my comment earlier, it was tactless. You deserve a better explanation then that," he said, in what he hoped to be a contrite tone. Her face did not soften at Draco's words. "You are my only son and the sole heir of your father and I. It is for that reason alone that I am forgiving you for your careless remark. It has not been twenty-four hours since the Dark Lord has fallen and it appears that your mind has gone daft." She hissed. "We risked everything for you, Draco. Everything. I would destroy the world to see you alive, but do not tempt me to regret my actions. You forget that your father and I can still have another child."

Narcissa let out a sigh. "Perhaps Severus will be able to straighten you out. We shall be at Malfoy Manor after our business here is complete. I expect you to owl when you arrive." It was not a request.

Draco raised an eyebrow at his Mother. It was tempting to simply walk away and let her comment slide, but he was enough trouble as it was. He gave her a small smile, "Oh course Mother, expect my owl before nightfall." He didn't think it was wise to fight her on the other child statement. Giving her a small nod he turned around, and headed back to the Slytherin Common Room. Leaving now, looked like a very good option.
