Action Scene: Severus and Harry run in to Sirius


Severus knew that Harry was tipsy enough from the wine at dinner that he could get away with any number of things, but he had no desire to do so, at least not when Harry wasn't completely sober. So he Apparated them to the gates of Hogwarts, determined to at least make sure Harry got inside before returning home.

Sirius pulled a face and ran a hand across his mouth. Hmmm... obviously Harry had a lot more in common with James than he'd thought. Insanity must be inherited.

"Err... right. Just step away from him, all right there, Harry?" He eyed Snape, sighing heavily.

Harry looked up at Snape with a perplexed expression. "All right, I guess." He staggered over to Sirius' side with a smile.

Severus' stomach dropped when Harry stepped away from him. It shouldn't have surprised him, and it shouldn't have hurt, but it did.

His lip curled in to a sneer. "Try not to fall and break your neck, Potter."

Sirius wrapped an arm around Harry's waist and looked over at Snape. "Thanks for making certain he didn't splinch himself," he murmured softly.

Severus nodded curtly. "I would suggest keeping alcohol out of his reach."

With a last look at Harry, he turned on his heel and began the walk back to the gates.
