Who: Remy LeBeau, Pete Wisdom, Raven Darkholme, Kitty Pryde
What: Trying to relieve boredom?
Where: Third Floor Common Room
When: Tuesday night
Rating: None other then flirting and wise cracks?
Status: Complete

Remy couldn't stand that whole decontamination thing he had been put through. It just wasn't right. Yes, he understood their reasoning for it, but did it really have to involve needles? He hated needles. It was worse then being stuck in snow. Well, maybe not worse, but pretty damn close. For all the jokes in the world, nothing seemed to appease them. They just kept wanting more and more. Clothes. Blood. You know it. And there was no way he was going to just sit there and have them watch and wait for him to exhibit some symptoms. Why wouldn't he make it this long alive? Wasn't it always the bastards that lived through these types of things? That made it alive after the world had thrown the worst it had at you? Yeah, if they were not going to give him any choice besides sit around or get stabbed, Remy quickly rethought that whole no needles thing and ended up holding out his arm for them to take all they wanted. The vampires comment apparently came off unsettling. But what was he supposed to do? There were only so many remarks about the blue man group anyone could make.

Choosing to wonder around the few places he could go, grumbling about how if he was an actual threat he would have blown up the building already, he was glad to at least have a pack of cards. Even before this whole Apocolypse, he was the type that needed to be on the move. Sure, he could sit around and appear to be laid back, but he was always itching to do something. Solitaire could only keep you going for so long. And the way people stared, he half felt like he should be wearing a pair of sunglasses. Sure, some of them were pretty obvious mutants themselves, but it made a man self conscious. As much as Remy LeBeau loved attention, some of the looks of curiosity were nice, but some of the fearful ones, that just irked him to no end. Choosing to ignore it all, he kept his poker face. How could he not? It's what he did.

Shuffling the cards in his hands, he found himself some place to sit, only to look up every now and again, trying to at least appear friendly. "Dis is gonna be a long night?"

Pete scoffed at the Cajun's words. "Wouldn't know," he admitted. "I always managed to do the devil's work and keep busy at the same time. Likely you're doing it wrong if you can't manage both."

He had a much better in than LeBeau, because he already knew one of the locals as it were and she'd asked him to stay. Not that he couldn't earn his place on his own. Wisdom was still going to do what needed doing. It just happened to be a much less soul draining job than it had been.

See, that's where Kitty was all wrong. His motive was wanting time with her. Pete wouldn't have stuck around at all if she'd not asked him to, no matter how she meant it when she asked. He'd been surviving just fine on his own.

But apparently, he wanted to do more than survive for once. Which was likely daft considering the state of the world, but Wisdom didn't really give a bloody damn if it was sensible or not.

Wisdom had thought he'd heard someone behind him, but he'd not turned around and his back was to the doorway. He snorted out a cloud of smoke as Raven took a small jab at Remy. Then she addressed the person behind him.

All right, apparently she wasn't utterly tired of him yet. Pete turned and looked that direction. "Hello, kitten," he greeted with a bit of a smile. "You going to join us? Maybe we can get LeBeau here to quit whinging and do something useful with those cards he's fiddling with."

Remy was just watching the cards flutter back and forth between his hands, enjoying the feel of them. It was relaxing and gave his fidgety hands something to do. He was a touchy one, always had been. It was hard not to when you had more then enough pent up energy as it was. He always needed to be on the move to some degree, regardless as to how laid back he appeared. And right now, it helped.

But that did not mean that he didn't pay attention to the door. After Raven's little crack at him, which he gladly ignored and only allowed a grin to cross his features, he had looked up to see the girl. Still shuffling the cards, and hearing Raven's words about the girl staring at Pete, which indeed she was, Remy found himself all too curious as to what it was Pete had been doing for these past five days and wondered if it hadn't been the girl.

Remy's thoughts only seemed to find themselves solidifying as his eyes moved over to Pete and hearing the word kitten? What the hell? Was that some sort of pet name? This was getting better and better. And an obvious age gap, not that Remy personally cared, but it was adding to the amusement. Remy's eyes kept moving between each of the people now in the room. It was strange how quickly everyone's composure practically changed in here because of one girl.

Pausing his shuffling, Remy smirked and held up an ace of spades, only to point out the nice glow it seemed to have as he charged the card. "Could do many tings with dese cards mon ami." Of course, he was obviously only teasing, but Remy was curious as to how this was really all going to play out. Pulling the charge back he shuffled the cards again, but turned towards the table more. "What is it dat we be playin' anyway? Five card stud? Or crazy eights?" Yes, Remy was well prepared to make some more cracks of his own if need be very soon.

As Remy was the first to look up at her, Kitty glanced over at him and smiled at what she saw. He was the new guy and wow, he was good looking. But Raven distracted her quickly.

"Nope, I'm stealing him away to my room, if he'll come without a fight," Kitty replied to Raven without blinking, a smile on her face that could easily suggest that she liked very much to stare at Pete. When he smiled at her, no amount of practice could have given her the skill to hide the way her eyes lit up. She pushed off the door frame and stood up straight, her dancer's posture giving her the full advantage of her five foot eight inch frame.

"I'll pour you a drink," Kitty offered, in case he needed the persuading. Somehow, speaking to him in front of two people who--judging from their attitudes--would easily jump to conclusions seemed like a lot less pressure than if Kurt or Ororo or someone had been in the room.

Raven's eyebrow arched ever so slightly higher at Pryde's response, and she just barely managed to bite her tongue, though she did turn to give Wisdom an amused look when he broke out a nickname. That certainly explained some of the things about him that were different.

But then LeBeau was doing his best to show off, and she found herself rolling her eyes again as she approached the table, settling in in the seat beside his. If Pryde did indeed have plans to whisk Wisdom away immediately, at least Raven would be left with a very bored LeBeau. There were certainly things that they could think of to do to pass the time.

"I would love a drink, thank you," she responded to Pryde, fully aware that the offer had not been extended to her. If she was going to have to sit through the girl making doe eyes at Wisdom, alcohol couldn't possibly hurt.

Right, because he was in the habit of calling anyone, no matter who they were, by their proper name. Kitty was the exception only because he had more pet names for her than for most other people.

Let's see, go to Kit's room and hopefully make some progress on giving him a proper reason to hang around or piss away the afternoon and evening bandying words with Raven and LeBeau? As if that was a choice at all. "You had me at whisking me off to your room, Kit," he assured her as he rose from the table.

He turned his attention to Remy for a moment. "You'll just have to play with yourself, Cajun," he remarked as he dug out the pack of fags from his pocket. He tossed it to the thief, then nodded to Raven. "Cheers."

Well if this all wasn't interesting, Remy sure as hell didn't know what was. So he goes from kitten to Kit? Was the girl's actual name Kitten? How strange things play out. Not that Remy really needed much for introductions. Of course, he couldn't help but try to hold back a little snicker at Raven's response, let alone Pete's apparent need to tell him he could play with himself. But to have the cigarettes tossed in his direction? Oh yes, he pocketed those quickly.

Leaning back in his seat, he was surprised Raven didn't mosey on out with them and leave him here alone again. Not that he minded, but he found himself shuffling his cards again. Looking over at Raven he smirked. "So chère, you tell me. Am I playin' by myself or non?"

"I'll catch you later this week," Kitty promised Raven, thoughts of engineering swimming in her head that were quickly replaced by he's standing very close to you thoughts as Pete joined her.

She saluted the two seated parties before she led the way out.

"Have fun, kids," she replied, tilting her head to watch appreciatively as Pryde and her leggings walked out, followed by Wisdom. Once they were gone, she turned to LeBeau, raising an eyebrow at his question.

"That depends entirely on the game, LeBeau." As long as she'd known him, it was interesting to finally have a name to go along with the body. She crossed her legs under the table, letting her foot rest against his leg. Keeping her tone casual, she asked, "Have they assigned you a room yet?"

Leaning forward a little bit, he paid no mind to the two that left. Sure, that wasn't obvious at all as to what was going on with them. Definitely not his business and at the moment, he hardly felt there was a reason to bother to even look into it. Especially when he had another form of entertainment in front of him.

"Any game you'd like. Who would I be to say no?" He quipped, only to finally stop shuffling those damn cards. "Room seven? 'Parently I was told somethin' 'bout me not gettin' a bathroom. So I'm guessin' dey like me to to wonder dese halls."

She licked her lips and watched his hands as he stopped shuffling the cards. Any game... that gave her quite a few options. Remy was in room seven, presumably on the third floor, as the room was occupied on her floor. She smiled at the mention of the room's lack of bathroom.

"I have a bathroom in my room," she nodded, tilting her head slightly to ask, "Would you like to see it?"

See her bathroom? Well that was one he hadn't heard in quite a while. Of course, that whole decontamination thing kind of burnt out the spark for that one. If anything he was more then happy to go without seeing her bathroom, if she really showed it to him right now.

Laughing lightly, he shook his head, looking back down at the cards in his hands for but a moment before looking back up at Raven. "Maybe 'nother time? If anythin' I could use some help gettin' back to my room though. Dis place be a lil' confusin', non?" Yeah right. He was so full of shit right there as it was since his room was right across the hall over there and to top it off, him and the layout of any building was something he had a tendency to memorize. You needed to know certain things, especially if things went bad.

Raven leveled her eyes at him and raised an eyebrow as he declined the offer, not even bothering to waste time rolling her eyes. He was shuffling the deck in his hands again, and she watched it, considering his request. Room seven was directly across the hall from the common room, and there was no way in hell that he didn't already know that.

"Fine," she pushed back from the table and stood, moving toward the door. "But you had better make it worth my while to help you find it."

Standing up, he just smirked as he pocketed the cards. They burned his coat, and as much as the poor damn thing needed it, he really wanted it back. His coat did so much more then just keep him warm, and yes, while that was needed, considering his strong hate for snow, Remy liked the ability to place as many things as he needed to in the pockets. He was able to hide so much. And now nothing. It was irritating, but he'd deal with that later. Obviously he was going to need a coat in the dead of winter right?

Of course, following Raven the whole few steps across the hall seemed far more important to him at the moment. "I'm sure we can be comin' up with somethin' for dat."

"Mmm, here's hoping," she replied, leading the way out to the hall and toward his room. There were a few things that the man had always been good for, and thankfully making things worth her while generally fell into that category. As she left the room, she glanced at him over her shoulder. "Turn out the lights."
