Who: Lorna and Remy
What: Checking out security systems
Where: Sub-basement
When: Tuesday Evening
Rating: Timid
Status: Complete

Remy had been bored out of his mind. It really was a losing battle here and even he saw it. Two weeks without pulling something? Yeah, not going to happen. So what was the most obvious thing he was going to go for? Security. Always security. He needed a good challenge, and since the moment he had been here he had literally been scoping it out. Well, he had been trying anyway. It was hard when people seemed to like to watch your movements, regardless of what they were. That also didn't mean that he hadn't made a few lewd comments regarding being watched so closely either. But that wasn't the issue right now.

Right now he was going to see just how far he could get with what information he had. It was perfect timing, regardless of what he currently knew about the system. There seemed to be some new folks that arrived and all the chatter seemed to be on that. Most eyes being off him, how could he say no to temptation? It wasn't like he was really up to no good. He wasn't looking to hurt anyone or do anything to the place. It was just something that was becoming of him, to say the least.

And it wasn't that he wasn't thankful for actually being able to actually commit to doing a few things as it was. 'Training' with Raven and fixing that car with Lorna, only to go blow up a few things. Yeah, he had been having a little fun, besides flirting with women. Mostly. Okay so he did a little more then that too, but that was pretty much expected by anyone that knew him. So, figuring he would try out the weight room and the pool in the basement level, he went looking for a possible point of entry. More gossip and curiosity over whoever showed up here meant less use right? Or that was what he was going off of. And any snooping he did, he did his best to cover up just what he was up to.

Finally finding himself alone, Remy was excited to have found his entry, as he unscrewed the small cover and hopped up and into the small hole that was barely large enough to hold his frame, quickly replacing the cover, he had only wished he hadn't been a little wet from having used the pool and really wished he had his shirt on, but there wasn't time for all of that. Who knew what kind of slim window he had? Finding that his little hole only seemed to go in one direction, he found himself a bit curious when he found the only exit had a few wires attached to it. Well that was interesting. It didn't help that as he was looking at the wires and trying to find himself a way out of this without getting caught, only to find something very wrong. His little porthole suddenly vibrating, as if unable to hold his weight, sent him straight through. He was barely able to catch himself with his foot, or at least that is what he would claim. Truth be told, some of those wires had found themselves caught around his ankle.

Hanging upside down, he groaned only to wonder if he had tripped the alarm. Reaching for his foot while hanging upside down, he tried to loosen the hold on his foot as to attempt to get down before someone found him.

A little taken back by her sudden remark, he looked her over curiously. "You do more den just amuse me you know? You're cute, you're charmin' an' you're definitely smarter than other women here." He gave her her compliment right back, or at least for the most part.

Looking her over, he just smiled lightly at her, still fully aware he was giving her the puppy dog eyes, or at least as well as his eyes could give it. "Anyone ever tell you dat you are pretty hot angry?" But shrugging, he kicked some imaginary pebble on the ground. "Non. Intentions change. Got to know you, didn't I? Just 'cause I wouldn't say non to sleepin' wit you doesn't mean dat I can't like bein' 'round you none." After a moment, he tried for hopeful again, "Does dat mean yes? We go play later? I am always good for kickin' off excess energy." It was bad enough he practically buzzed with it. And of course he chose not to comment on that question about him knowing what the truth was.

"You haven't met Kitty or Paige yet," Lorna remarked wryly, trying to ignore how nice a feeling it was to have him say that about her. "We haven't decided which of us is the smartest yet. And I'm pretty sure Raven blows us all out of the water."

Yes, because babbling away trying to deflect his compliment was going to work. Yeah. She was so fucked. She had been fighting him tooth and nail this entire time and he still managed to turn it around on her. What the hell? That wasn't fair!

"No," she admitted honestly. "Generally when I get angry, people know to get out of my way." Not that Lorna ever let herself lose control completely. Most of the time, she could keep her temper until she was alone and could vent without hurting someone. The rest of the time, it was somebody like Bobby, who she couldn't technically hurt that took the brunt of it.

The way he explained it made perfect sense. Dammit, he was not allowed to be right. He was not supposed to say things like that. She wasn't even touching that one.

"Yeah," Lorna said, somehow sensing she'd lost this round. Badly. Not that she knew what game they were playing or the rules and LeBeau would probably keep changing them to suit him and God, she should tell him to get lost. That would be the smart thing to do. "Yeah, sure. I'm still trying to figure out if each item has it's own critical mass point or if it's a timed event. Which you probably already know but it scientifically measure it requires repeated experiment and careful study."

Crap, now she was babbling about theories. "I'm going to go back to work and pretend you didn't just completely play me like a harp, okay?" Because he had and Lorna wanted to hate him for it, but she couldn't. Because she'd let him do it by cutting him a break. This was exactly what she meant by different definition of dangerous.

"Actually, I do believe I met dis Kitty." Or at least well enough. "An' Raven is old 'nough to know more den most. No surprise dere. Dat don't really count." And all of that was besides the point. "Don't know how to take compliments den?" He asked her easily.

"Dat's no fun. Sometimes it be nice to use someone to vent to." Not that he himself found himself too angry either, or actually telling anyone everything even then, but he understood the feeling.

Grinning at what was feeling like a victory, given her obvious interest in his powers and the fact that she had just said yes, he probably looked all too a little too elated. "Den it be a date."

But as she pointed out that he played her like a harp, he was about to turn around and walk away, but paused to just decide to point out to her, "You know. I been readin' up on your specialty. Maybe you teach dis Cajun somethin' yet." He added a wink before heading back to his room.

Yeah, well, Lorna couldn't be certain how sincere Remy was being. "No, not really," she admitted. "Especially when I am not being smart."

If she were smart, she'd have left the smarmy Cajun to his fate. Let Jarvis take care of him or taken him to Ororo for breaking the rules. But no, she had to be be nice to him and let him take advantage of her soft spot. Dammit.

She ignored the comment about needing someone to vent to. Remy had no idea. She was still avoiding Kurt, still avoiding Bobby and still avoiding Jean-Paul for the whole incredible sin of mentioning Scott's name. Because she was tired of hurting people accidentally trying to help. Apparently at least Remy wasn't so easy to break. Might be his only selling point, but it was a big one after alienating so many of her friends over one stupid comment.

Well, at least he was looking forward to showing off for her. Although Lorna was very sure he was just looking forward to showing off period. Good enough for now.

Lorna was surprised when he admitted to actually reading up on her specialty. What the hell? The man just did not make any damned sense.

Sighing and shaking her head at herself, Lorna turned around and headed back down to the sub basement. What was the saying? No good deed goes unpunished? Yeah. That.

Now all she needed was Ororo to find out and ream her. That would just be the perfect ending to this.
