One of the scout teams had reported one of the engines was running a little rough, so Lorna told Sam she'd check it out. If it was something she knew how to fix, great. If not, she'd put it aside until Sammy could look at it.

So far, she wasn't finding anything wrong. Still, changing the oil couldn't hurt, this one was about due for it anyway. Getting everything together, she opened the hood and the oil cap, then slid under the car to start draining the oil. One advantage to being a magnetokinetic was she never lost the oil cap, since it was metal.

Lorna frowned as she sensed an unfamiliar, hot energy signature. Had to be one of the new guys. She hadn't been around either of them to be able to identify them by their signatures, but they both had hot signatures. "Which one are you and what you do want?" she called, because right now she was kind of busy.

"Why dere not be any good names for dese t'ings?" Another reason experiments gave him the willies. Of course, he just shrugged at the thought of Paige joining in and enjoying it. "De more de merrier, non?"

Nope. Definitely not wanting to let go of this subject even if it pressed the wrong buttons. Raven he might have expected it out of but this one, he was curious. "Such as?" He questioned a little teasingly. "Priorities don't take up a person's entire day and night."

Her reaction told him a whole hell of a lot more then that wrench did. Smiling like a cat that ate the canary, he shoved his hands in his pockets. "So you do like me?" He asked while purposely leaving out the part about it being for his powers. Nodding back at the car, he pointed out, "Timin's off. Can tell dat easy 'nough. You check de compression or anythin'?"

"How about participant?" she suggested after thinking about it hard for positive names for it. "Paige is a megamorph who can change her body into other materials after she tears away her outer layers of skin. Stone, diamond, stuff like that. I help her work out the formulas for new forms."

Yeah, not answering that. Because really, she had no idea. Hank, yes. Hank had to be dragged out of the laboratory to make sure he got fresh air and sunshine regularly. But as for the rest, she didn't know and really didn't know them well enough to approach them. And after her faux pas in the last few weeks, didn't want to make things worse. So, not going there.

Lorna laughed. "And you answer your question correctly, I can see and feel the energy, yes," she explained. Thank God, he changed the subject to the car again. "That would be something I forgot. Damn, you are good."

Okay, that was badly worded. Correcting herself would be worse. "So where'd you learn to work on cars?" she asked.

"Den I may just be your most willin' participant yet." Though a megamorph? Wasn't that a mouthful. "Sure she be worth her weight in gold." He joked after hearing the point about diamond.

And her silence over that subject made it that much more intriguing. Oh how he really would be bugging the hell out of her on a regular basis for that one. Even if he never brought up the subject again in the same way, there would be so many hints, whether they were subtle or not.

Shrugging again, he just smirked. "Like dat wasn't obvious. Dere you went doubtin' me." He tsked her. Walking back towards the car, he turned the ignition off the old fashioned way, figuring it was better to save the gas and what not, only to shrug off her question. "Just one 'a dose t'ings you learn growin' up." Or at least one of those things he learned on the streets. Hot wiring was also one of them. "Just got an ear for it now. But at least dat's not so bad. Could'a been worse?"

But, since she liked his powers so much, he decided to ask. "So, you wanna play wit pistons or play wit me now dat we gone an' figured dis out?" Of course, he worded that wrong on purpose, but that was to be expected.

"I bet," she agreed with a smirk. Really Remy was clearly a show off, which was a good thing in this case. Lorna scoffed at his bad joke. "Yeah, it's shame when she tears it off, it reverts back to human skin."

Oh goodie. Lorna was so looking forward to that. Not.

Yeah, well, he hadn't exactly been trying to convince her he was smart or observant. Remy had blown his own cover there a bit. Lorna laughed. "My dad wasn't a car fan," she admitted. "I grew up on a steady diet of baseball games. If you need a first baseman or a power hitter, I'm your girl. Cars are new though."

Okay, that wouldn't be a fair choice. "How about we work first and play later?" she suggested. "Don't worry, I'll let you show off to your heart's content when we're done."

That really was a shame. Could only imagine how many types of materials could have been gained from all of that. All from shedding skin.

Blowing that bit of cover was nothing for him, because, really, it just made him useful enough for her to want him to stick around a little longer. Lifting his hand, he tapped his left temple only to grin and respond with, "I be rememberin' dat. I be pickin' your team den." Of course, that didn't mean he was going to go on about his father, or at least the only one he had ever known and about how that man didn't seem to know much about cars either. But strangely enough, he did love that cadillac that was parked in the garage like it was another son.

Walking back over to the car, Remy picked up the wrench only to look back at Lorna. "You got a flat head, 'cause sometimes dese t'ings be a bit tricky, non?" Moving towards where he knew the distributor to be, he went to remove it.
