Who: Jake & OPEN When: Wednesday Afternoon Where: Diner
He'd been by her house and everything had been packed up. Checked in the training department and they didn't have her on their scheduled. Then he'd gone to check with Alec and he was gone too.
Jake sat at the counter, poking at the omelette on his plate. The server constantly came by to check on him, but his coffee hadn't been touched and beyond being poked to death, his food hadn't either. He'd been sitting there for close to two hours, gaze just fixed on the counter. After a while he'd just been left alone. Whether his posture and the vibe he was giving off, or the fact that they knew he was government and didn't want to piss him off it wasn't clear. But Jake was left alone.
The only time he changed was when the door opened and he turned to look to see who entered, almost hopeful. Each time the eggs on his plate paid for the disappointment even more. The door opened again and Jake turned. No... not Avery or Alec. He gripped his fork tighter and jabbed the utensil into the plate as he turned back to bore a hole with his gaze into the counter.
