Characters: Erik [Narrative OR open to multiples] Setting: The beach, late afternoon/early evening Content Rating: PG-13 Summary: Erik's birthday celebration!
Erik had spent a good majority of the morning gathering wood for his fire. It was a lot easier now that he could use his power to help, rather than hiding it like the last time he'd done this. He'd built the pit and arranged the tinder before going home for a quick shower. But now he was back, kneeling in the sand and making small adjustments so that it would burn the correct way.
He also had a small case of beer on the ground next to him, because it was still his twenty-first birthday and he was going to drink, since he could. There were a few other people up and down the coastline, but none of them were paying much attention to him. Well, not yet anyway. He was pretty sure that he was definitely going to get some stares once he lit the fire.
Even with the rain the last few days, it wasn't hard for Erik to get the kindling lit, and from there the tinder and the logs. The sun was just beginning to set as the main tepee set up of logs caught fire and started to burn. With a grin, he settled himself down on the sand and opened a bottle of beer, far enough back from the flames to not be in danger of being burnt, but still close enough to feel the heat. Staring into the heart of the fire, he could feel himself relax for what felt the first time in days.
