Characters: Daryn and Daphne Setting: Abandoned Forest area, Friday 8/23, late afternoon Summary: Searching for something
Daryn had been home for less than 24 hours before she dragged herself out into the world once again. She wasn't feeling much better physically, although she had enough energy now to stay conscious throughout the day. Still, she knew she should be taking it easy. Trying to heal her own injuries was too exhausting, so she resolved to let them heal on her own. She was mildly concerned about the lingering fever and the possibility of an infection. However, she was determined not to go back to the Facility yet, not until she could overcome this fear.
While she was slowly but surely healing from her wounds, emotionally Daryn knew she was in trouble. She hadn't felt this way in years, four years to be exact. The feeling had lingered for months, and if it wasn't for the help of a friend, she would not have recovered. Now, feeling particularly alone and unbalanced, Daryn had gone for a walk in the rain in an attempt to find her strength again and get over the evens of the last week. It was unseasonably mild of the end of August, and the on and off thunderstorms of the day had sent most people inside for shelter.
With nothing more than an umbrella for cover, Daryn wandered off alone into the foreseted area. People rarely ventured here, and when they did, it was typically in nicer weather. Finding a large, uprooted tree, she closed her umbrella and settled down to sit on it. Curling into a small ball, her hand brushed the barrel of the gun deep in her hoodie's front pocket. Taking a deep breath, she closed her eyes and tried to clear her mind of the chaos within.
