Prism is on the east coast of what used to be known as the USA
The language spoken is English.
There is a desert in the middle of the continent, and a giant crater in the midwest area, both caused by the Blaze and resulting shock waves.
What is the ecology like there?
Most animals are domesticated pets or strays, or kept in zoos. Much of the wildlife native to the region no longer exists after the Blaze.
There is a lot of wind, which grows progressively more severe as you go up the Plates. The weather is a lot like extreme "Midwest" weather, with harsh summers and winters.
There are almost no natural resources available in the area, and Prism relies on imports to get many perishable goods they can't grow or other objects they can't manufacture.
However, there are iron ore mines located very close to the Lower Plate.
How about Law Enforcement and crime rates?
The Upper Plate is far from the utopia it pretend to be. Crime exists, but they are not publicized. The petty crime rate is low.
Crime rates are also high in the Lower Plate.
Law enforcement in the Upper Plate is strict and quiet, and performed by both human cops and droid patrols.
Law enforcement in the Lower Plate is extremely strict in order to keep Prism running smoothly. However, enforcement only applies to what keeps the city going. The enforcement pays no attention to anything that may help the livelihood of the people in the Lower Plate, due to a lack of caring, as well as a lack of knowledge about what actually happens in the Lower Plate. The lifestyles of people in the Lower Plate are largely overlooked. Some of the police force there has also been bribed/bought out by Prism.
How about business and the economy?
The upper plate uses electronic currency, which is backed by gold.
The lower plate uses paper currency, which is not backed by gold.
It produces various goods in the industrial centers, made possible by its advanced technology and iron mines.
Prism refines much of the iron it extracts from local mines into steel.
It makes a profit through domestic consumer spending, and exporting goods produced.
Prism produces its own food in greenhouses in the Middle Plate.
Natural resources they lack are imported.
All production is monitored by Prism Corp.
Then how about authority, if Prism is the government?
The head of Prism Corporation is Liam Erickson.
The government type is best described as an oligarchy.
Before the Blaze, there was an attempt at fascism.
How about the society?
There is a general dislike of outsiders, who take up the already scarce jobs.
The Lower Plate is generally disliked, and believed to be a class that must be stamped down, though this is not a universal sentiment.
The younger generation tends to be more risque than the older.
The older generation is more concerned with the "social norm."
The Upper Plate is very suggestible to following current trends, reading tabloids, and being swayed by media advertising.
Most of the media is controlled by Prism. The information available is limited or falsified. Most news that is available is celebrity news, or mentions of just how much Florence fails at everything. Whole page spreads of it.
Gay marriage is legal. This is relevant because Fox and Ho-
Does Prism have a history?
A long long time ago in a galaxy far far away
Before the Blaze, Prism Corp was a powerful and wealthy corporation in a city. This surrounding city would eventually become the Lower Plate.
Since the Blaze, Prism started buying up everything around it. Other companies, land, everything. As it gained more money and power, it started building itself up, using the people who lived in the surrounding city to build.
As it became larger, more people flocked to Prism. The wealth "old money" folks poured their money into the development of the Upper Plate, which became the more pleasant area removed from the memories of the earthly Blaze.
The building was made possible by the help of the iron ore mines, a valuable asset, close to what would become known as the Lower Plate.
It eventually grew to the size it is today, with the wealthy building upwards and those who did the work being left behind on the bottom.
As most everything was funded by, and all is owned by Prism, Prism Corp is now the absolute authority figure over the city, a thankless oligarch ruling over all.
How about the Order vs Pro-Entropy War?
The war is not global.
It exists in the general Prism area, focused on the city itself with occasional small incidents along the rim of the Blaze crater.
Currently, the war is extremely unorganized. The two factions are not hard set teams at this point in time.
There are many individual skirmishes.
There are no noticeably large incidents in the hazy history of the war.
The war is not public knowledge, and only known to the direct participants, the servants of Labukas and Nelabasis.
Upper Plate The newest part of the city, since Prism built upwards. The maglev train encircles a large area of both residential and slightly more commercial districts. The majority of the shops here are tiny, more hobby than real business. The residential areas are the largest, with many parks, small ponds, gardens, even forests, which brazenly show off Prism City's mastery of urban agriculture. The air is thusly the clearest on this plate. There is also a huge array of houses, with designs ranging from the futuristic to those dating back to the victorian era. A handful of academies and the most vital and important of Prism's offices and laboratories are located here as well.
Middle Plate At first glance, the class divide seems almost non-existent here. The tall, gleaming towers and spiralling highways have mislead many a newcomer to Prism City. However, a closer inspection reveals the utter lack of residential districts. Many of the upper-lower class commute here to work. This is where most of the raw materials from boat transport are stored, almost all of the city's food is grown in towering indoor greenhouse and rooftop plots, and most of the factories are located.
Lower Plate The smoke and smog from the Middle Plate rains down here, and the area in the center of the plate, directly under the openings of the other two plates, are where the filthiest districts are located. Most people prefer to live either close to the highways which lead up into the Middle Plate, or close to the water's edge where the trade is liveliest. This is the true face of Prism City and the plate that carries the heaviest burden. Without natural resources, all of the city is reliant on the huge boats and the sailors that navigate the ocean trade routes. Another draw to the boat industry is the darkness. This plate is almost always in perpetual shadow. There are an abundance of artificial light sources to see by, and even some areas with false ceilings that mimic weather conditions, but being out on the ocean and under the sky and stars is always preferable.
History History before 200 years ago (the start of the Prism calendar) is largely considered irrelevant to the way of life in Prism. There are remnants of knowledge and obvious "architectural and cultural wonders" that survived the Blaze and resulting shock waves, but what's taught in schools or widely known is spotty and watered down. Many scholars and educated people are saddened by the prevailing attitude that "history doesn't exist". Because most of the remaining population of the wold sticks to cloistered cities, exploits and searches for the remnants of civilization that existed are considered a big deal. Florence has written several books on the subject and tries to make others aware of history's value.
Dress The majority of the population prescribes to the post-Nuclear dress code of whatever the hell they want, as long as it doesn't get in the way. It usually ranges from the modern day casual look to a slightly more "futuristic" look. Among the poor, what we'd consider "vintage" and especially "ethic" clothing is pretty popular, which is why Ruhe dresses like he got in a three way fight with a Russian pimp and an antique tapestry. The middle class/upper lower class tend to dress a bit more practically in what we'd consider 'work clothing' and uniforms during most of the day. The Upper Class's dress code is not too rigid either, but they tend to keep a very classy, sleek, "cyber renaissance" look. They flaunt their wealth by dressing in hard to keep clean whites or well tailored, modern/designer looking clothing.
Technology Despair Horizon is set "20 minutes into the future" technology-level wise. What this means is that advanced technology is widespread and relatively affordable. It's also ingrained itself quite deeply into society because of it. Virtual idols are the source of much fervor in youth pop culture, and much of the entertainment involves virtual reality or "augmented reality gaming". There is also a considerable amount of resistance towards it. For example, the truly wealthy hire Upper Plate human maids and caretakers for their children, while the moderately rich employ nanny bots. Despite the rapid advances in AI, there is also much research being done on how much interaction humans can have with androids before it becomes harmful to their social development and well-being.
For the Upper Plate, conveniences like cleaning bots, AI-run house management systems and even self-restocking refrigerators are relatively commonplace. Some, like in the example from before, prefer human service to even the most lifelike, customizable robots and choose to go without. In the end, it's a matter of preference. When it comes to security, however, most are better safe than sorry and do not employ humans to protect their homes, opting instead for the cheaper droids and security systems which can work near flawlessly, 24-7.
The Lower Class cannot afford this technology and pretty much only interacts with robots in the form of police droids. Prism has recently come out with a new "breed" of armored tank cars that work in much closer tandem with the police than ever before - like dogs trained to attack or sniff out drugs, only equipped with guns. These have damaged the public opinion on robots, and most Lower Plate residents openly dislike them.
Genetic Engineering Many of Prism's crops are genetically modified to be easier to grow, larger, and healthier. This has been a widely known fact for a very long time, however what is not so widely known is that Prism's prowess over nature extends to humans. For close to three decades now, Prism has offered genetic engineering - limited in scope - to its wealthiest citizens. Several families have chosen to "augment" their children with their desired qualities, such as intelligence, beauty, or strength. The first wave of "designer babies" was both a success and a failure due to the side effects, and they scaled back in the following generations, limiting changes to hair and eye color and some appearance modifications. It was also scaled back to prevent a backlash and paranoia over eugenics. There are several characters who were augmented wandering around in the game - can you spot them?
Wayne College The college attended by Hound and Cassidy. Cassidy is a psychology major, while Hound is a political science major.
Little Celestia (aka Mordor) This is the name of one of the dorm buildings on campus. It just so happens to be the one Cassidy lives in. He's on the second floor, and occupies a Single. He has no roommates, which was just a turn of luck rather than something he asked for. The students in the dorms call it Mordor because for some reason the heating unit likes to fail and become far too hot. Because of its location the windows are exposed to the sun, making it very difficult to cool off. Little Celestia is rumored to be demolished and rebuilt with a different design due to the many complaints about the temperature issues.
Reinhartsen Academy The private academy that Levander attends. It actually has lodgings and is quite expansive, but her parents (specifically Florence) forbid her from living there due to the fact that she could meet a boy, fall in love and lose her virginity. It's a very large school and gated off. It's three stories tall, and decorated in an extremely elegant fashion. It's owned by a private school board which finances it and oversees the curriculum. It's located in the middle of the upper class circle, somewhere near the plaza.
Starlight School of Liberal Arts Kitty and Lucetta are students at this specialized college in the Upper Plate. It teaches theater, film, sculpture, painting, creative writing, and nearly any other kind of artform imaginable. It even teaches some interpretations of "old and lost" forms of art. Kitty is a first year theater major, while Lucetta is a first year performance art major.
Starlight Dorms Building#4 Kitty shares a dorm room with one Derek Collins. It's a bit on the messy side but not so much that the floor is invisible. It's a very typical guy college dorm. Laundry issues, a mini fridge, beds bunked over desks instead of each other. They have a tendency to throw pillows at each other over the gap between their beds.
Everwright Business School The college Riff attends as a first year. Well-known with high standards for entry both grade and financial-wise. Regular 'donations' on top of tuition are expected. Pretty much all graduates have a high success rate and despite the rumors that Everwright is just a rich snob school, the students ARE held to high standards and not matching up will result in you getting kicked out.
Childress High School The high school Kartahn attends. It's not a private school because Kartahn insisted not going to one because he didn't want to be "special and all that shit." He also claimed that there wouldn't be anything ironic about him going to a private school, and made a detailed presentation on how it would be more ironic for him to attend public school. His parents were tired of hearing the word ironic so they agreed.
BUSINESSES
Wallbrooke Mall Wallbrooke is the largest enclosed shopping mall in the Upper Plate, containing hundreds of shops and restaurants. Cassidy and Hound formed their contract here.
Friendly Fish Sushi Cassidy has a thing for fish and isn't about to pass up an opportunity to eat it. His favorite sushi place around is this suspiciously named establishment. Supposedly it's better than it sounds.
Tangerine International A small, family run shop that sells a variety of international products. Much like an international convenience store, Cassidy comes here mostly to pick up prepackaged food. Sometimes he'll pick up strange trinkets with no apparent use, or things that are absolutely genius that are extremely impractical. He also has also has a habit of buying tons of packets of ketchup, soy sauce, mustard and the like here, and then he throws them out because he can't figure out why he got so many of them.
Dreams Come True A strange hobby store that sells good quality clothes that looks "thrifty." Apparently it was a trend at some point to look like you're not spending a lot of money. Cassidy seems to have been unable to get out of that "trend" and buys a lot of his clothes here. Unironically.
Talent Agency Firefly Firefly is the talent agency Lucetta is associated with. She gets all of her jobs through her manager here. Basically, her direct employer. They make contracts with actors, singers, and dancers. Lucetta has been a part of this agency for a very long time.
Bunny Lounge A nightclub in the entertainment district of the Upper Plate. Dominic frequents it sometimes when he has time to kill, can't really make any progress flirting and just wants to look at girls. It's generally an "anything goes" nightclub, where it's not exactly uncommon to see people stripping and see girls walking around in S&M outfits. There seem to be back rooms that are dedicated to more specialized uses. Mimi is often seen stripping here. In fact, Dominic is a regular patron of hers.
Phoenix Feather A coffee shop run in the Upper Plate. Minerva is a frequent customer here, as she needs her caffeine to stay on the job at all times. It's actually a fairly small and cozy establishment. Rather like a hipster gathering place. Many liberal arts students are found working on their projects here. They hold open mic nights, which Minerva may attend if she's feeling under the weather. Most of the time she only shows up to grab her large coffee and go.
Crystal Snow A high-end boutique located in one of the shopping districts of the upper plate. The items here are extremely expensive. One will usually frequent this place for elegant dresses, elaborate accessories made of only the finest jewels, and other gaudy adornments. This is Rudalotte's favorite place to shop. (Thanks to Kit for the name!)
Luminous Planes A department store further down from Crystal Snow. This place sells luxurious furniture at exorbitant prices, and also features a wide array of clothing options for patrons that are willing to shell out tons and tons of money to look good. Rudalotte is one of these clients. There are six floors. The first three floors cater entirely to clothes, and the next three cater to furniture. There is a rooftop cafe where patrons can eat and look out across the city's horizon. (Thanks to Kit for the name!)
Rosencrantz Theatre A theatre within the shopping district of the upper plate. It's next to Livre de Papier (a name which literally translates into "book of paper" in French) and Kartahn frequents it whenever he wishes to check out the newest flick.
Livre de Papier A bookstore beside Rosencrantz Theatre. Kartahn frequents it regularly. He purchased Programming for Assholes, Colonel Sassacre's Daunting Text of Magical Frivolity and Practical Japery, and the Grimoire for Summoning the Zoologically Dubious here, respectively. It is run by people of French descent (as can be told from the name) and Kartahn often thinks they're gypping him because he can't speak French.
Lex's Form-Fitting Wares A rather sophisticated shop of questionable nature. It is here that Dominic obtained his bodysuit, which he had custom made. It is located in the shopping district, only a few blocks down from Crystal Snow. As one might expect, it's run by a fellow named Lex.
Angel Sweets A baked goods shop. VERY expensive but noted to have the best for sweet connoisseur everywhere. Riff is especially fond of their cheesecake.
Alleyway An alleyway in the shopping district of the upper plate. Kartahn is really fond of it, but won't explain why. He's here sometimes jamming to the mad beats he mixed himself.
The Bazaar A cleverly hidden black market that sees both poor and wealthy patrons. Access is tightly controlled, and the maintainer Ruhe runs a tight ship within the market as well. Weapons, drugs, pirated and banned goods and all other types of contraband can be found here. The services of the Lower Plate's finest criminals can also be bought for those who know how to ask. More information can be found here.
RESIDENCES
Black Manor The residence of the enigmatic Yggdrasil, located in an isolated corner of Upper Plate that few dare approach. At one time, it was no different from the rest of the plate. It's been sectioned off by a rather large blue wrought iron gate with unreadable initials carved into the front, but if one walked through the dilapidated gate and down the overgrown path they would eventually come to a house that seems to be completely abandoned. The double doors are covered in cobwebs. The stairs are cracked in places. The windows are all broken. The bricks show clear sign of aging and some are even chipped to reflect this.
Isgar Manor The manor itself is a large, red brick affair built in a symmetrical style, and sectioned off by a wrought iron fence. To reach it, visitors must pass through a pair of wrought iron gates leading into a forest, which has a paved path and lights lighting it for ease of traffic in the evening. After a fair amount of walking through the forest path, it comes to a huge clearing where there's a well-kept garden, lavish fountain and behind the garden are a set of steps leading up to a porch with lots of columns (more than likely made of marble) and also to a large set of intimidating-looking double doors. There are windows all around the mansion looking outside, most of which are on the second floor to look out to the garden.
Enamel Towers A high-quality apartment building, almost like a luxury hotel. Stories upon stories tall, Minerva lives near the top of one of the two towers that are a part of Enamel Towers. Imagine Barnaby's apartment from Tiger&Bunny It has a large window for one of the walls in the main room. Overall, her apartment is very clean and bare. It doesn't look like anyone actually lives here.
Kartahn's villa A simple villa in the middle of a group of villas. There's nothing special about it, really.
Hound's condo Hound lives on the top/third floor, with access to a roof garden. There's nothing else particularly remarkable about the building.
The Greer Manor Old, pretty, and well kept. When you think old money and homes like a castle in their own right, this place comes to mind. It's a bit further out from other residences, for privacy reasons, and there's a convenient ravine on the property that may or may not have dirty secrets of the Greers buried here. Though both brothers officially live here, Ian has made a habit of staying around the office for 'work reasons' or staying with his girlfriend of the week.
Ambrose Manor Mimi's family manor. Will describe later.
Kitty's Home Kitty's family lives in a large, apartment complex-like building in the Upper Plate. His sister also lives at home and commutes to her school.
Lucetta's Home A large, Victorian-style house in the Upper Plate. It's a very extravagant house with a sprawling garden kept up by low-wage gardeners picked up from the Lower Plate. The house is half a success museum for Lucetta as set up by her mother. Though she lives here, Lucetta is not very fond of staying here all day.
Randy Johnson's Residence Nothing special, just the location of Anne's old boyfriend. It might very well exist sorely for Danii to exact revenge, be it misguided or not. She does not know where he lives as per the start of the game.
De Morte Manor The home of Lucrezia de Morte. Mentioned solely because Dominic will be purloining her possessions quite often in game. It's located in a group of manors, and there's not really anything particularly distinguishing about it.
Crozier Villa The former home of Lyon and Elizabetha Adelbruck. It is currently uninhabited.
Scorched Lot The former home of the man whom Lyon's second ex-wife left him for. It has been burned to cinders and only the lot remains. it is still unused to this day.
PRISM-RELATED
"Wolfe Corporation" Headquarters The former headquarters of the Wolfe Corporation. It has now become nothing more than an appendage of the Prism Corporation, and all former traces of what it once was have been erased completely. The name Wolfe Corporation has been placed in quotations at the request of one of Prism's higher-ups to emphasize the family's fall from grace.
Spectrum Headquarters An extremely tall tower made of glass located near the central area of the Upper Plate. It towers over most other buildings on the plate, but there are many that are taller than it. Despite this, however, it commands full attention from anyone who looks at it. The name is quite fitting as light refracts off of the glassy exterior, and it shines at night. The Spectrum is Prism’s de facto police force. It is ruled over by Drake Edelweiss, the Chief of Police and Commander of the Spectrum. The Spectrum command full authority over the Upper, Middle, and Lower Plates and are usually dressed in all black. They greatly resemble soldiers of some sort of secret society. As far as anyone knows, the Spectrum sees to keeping order, but how they go about it is really unknown. If one looked closely, they could find a lot of dark details about the Spectrum and many sinister rumors about some of the more unholy actions they’ve committed to keep peace, but none of these have been confirmed. Despite their rowdiness, Drake has tried his hardest to keep hold over them.
Prism Tower A look out tower on the upper-plate that overlooks most of the city. Originally, the tower was meant to be a sort of reception tower but was converted into a tourist spot. Aesthetically pleasing with a small cafe and gift shop inside. Lower and mid-levels are available free and available to general public but the upper levels require special passes that cost enormous amounts with the amount increasing per high level. A favorite place for Riff and Rafe, though for different reasons.
OTHER
Maglev Train Stations are located at equidistant points along a ring on the Upper Plate.
Grant Library An expansive library nearby the shopping district. It is approximately 12 floors tall and has books of all kinds of subjects. Florence often comes here to do research.
The Lianesco Company Former ruins of the Lianesco Company. It has now been bought out by the Prism Corporation and as such no longer bears the name Lianesco. Two years ago, this was the site of the bizarre massacre of the Lianesco board of directors. It has never been solved to this day, and it was closed as a mass suicide.
De Morte Clinic One of the most prosperous private clinics on the Upper Plate, Dominic frequents this place often but never seems to go in. It is owned and run by Lucrezia de Morte, who has made a fortune off of her illegal corporate gains and shady underhanded dealings. This clinic often sees more... unscrupulous patients.
Guildenstern Park A park not too far from Childress High School, owned and maintained by Esmerelda Guildenstern (indirectly, of course). Kartahn frequents this place to contemplate the meaning of the word "irony", deep and philosophical beliefs regarding beats throughout the ages, and just when he's being emo in general.
Abernathy Clinic A clinic not far from Lyon's old home. The doctor who checked out Elizabetha makes his living by working here. This is also the site of where Lyon met the black cat whom he would contract with shortly after.
Sleeping Souls Cemetery An old cemetery in an isolated corner of the lower plate, far away from a highway of any kind. This is where Elizabetha Adelbruck is buried. At the grave is a bouquet of white lillies and a wooden frame with a younger picture of Rene. The tombstone has also been dusted so that it looks newer than it should. (Thanks to Kit for the name!)
Cathedral of Idolatry An old dilapidated cathedral in the most isolated confines of the upper plate. Rumor has it a dangerous cult once operated here and the cathedral was shut down after they were ousted. Supposedly, its doors have been locked firmly ever since. The windows are broken and the bricks are chipped. There is a huge circular stained glass window that has been completely shattered above the doorway. The stairs are cracked and the once glistening golden pole serving as a baulestrade up to the two double doors has lost its sheen. Despite its disuse, there are scarce rumors of Rudalotte being sighted here sometimes. For what purpose would she be here?
Old Forest A forest located on the Upper Plate in the Old Church Ruins district. There's not really anything of interest here, save for a broken down old shed. It really is a mystery as to why Dominic comes to this place. (Note: The forest itself isn't old, but rather named after the district itself like everything else in the Old Church Ruins district).
Old Church Ruins district A district on the Upper Plate, commonly referred to as the "Haunted Cathedral District". It is named "Old Church Ruins" because of the Cathedral of Idolatry. Despite that, however, the name itself refers to everything AROUND the Cathedral of Idolatry and not necessarily the Cathedral itself. Everything in this district has, however, been consigned to ruin because of rumors that the ghosts of the subdued cultists wander the streets at night.
Industrial District A district rife with industry. It is filled with large factories and an elaborate system of gates that enable traffic from each of them. Amongst them is the Carda Automobile Factory, the Absolute Zero Refrigerator Factory, the Bake Right Oven Factory, and the Adionas Clothing and Shoe Factory. Of course, there are many factories here so these are just examples of what types of factories live here. Florence often comes here to ruminate on things because the smog invigorates him.
Greenhouse District A district filled with greenhouses that are producing food products. Florence often comes here to observe them and take note of how the greenhouses themselves work. Someday, he hopes to make these greenhouses more accessible to the people of Prism City; specifically the lower class by inventing a way where everyone can have their own.
Edelweiss Factory - An old, abandoned factory in the most run-down confines of the Middle Plate. It has been shut down for ages, and few can remember what it used to produce. The large steel double doors leading inside are always locked, but some have reported seeing Dominic here on occasion. The most notable feature of this abandoned factory is the abnormally tall tower which reaches all the way to the top-most area of the Middle Plate.
Everdale School The elementary/middle/high school Slade, Rene and Tracy attend. It's a public school without enough funding to actually separate into three schools. There are small classrooms with too many people, and too few teachers. It's not a very good learning environment at all. Many students don't have the will to learn, or want to but there's only so much they can do. At least the school has a rundown playground that the kids regularly make use of to play.
Mariton Middle School Located roughly 2 blocks west of the Nelson High-rises, this is where Danii attended middle school and awoke the day after she made her wish, Christmas day prior year. It's now been abandoned and very worn down.
Krewall High Located roughly 3 blocks north and 5 blocks east of the Nelson High-rises, this is the high school that Danii attended. It's still in service and is somewhat rundown and overused.
BUSINESSES
Kisa's Jet's n' Guns A small gun shop 3 blocks south and 1 block east of the Nelson High-rises. It supplies the police force of this area.
Luxurious Hole Tenements A complex of tenement apartments. It is named according to the owner's fine taste in irony. Despite the name, however, it truly is a dump. It is mostly run-down and poorly maintained despite the contracts held by the tenements. Because few of them have anywhere else to go and the rent is relatively cheap, none of them choose to leave. Dominic doesn't live here, but he does have an apartment leased here which he pays for regularly.
That Old Hole in the Wall A small, uncouth bar located on the lowest floor of the Luxurious Hole Tenements. It is named according to the owner's blunt attitude. It really is a hole in the wall. Dominic often comes here to hit on women, which usually places him in hilariously humiliating situations. Lyon is also seen here on occasion, and Florence can be seen here rarely after fighting with Isadora.
RESIDENCES
Nelson High-rises Located in the northeastern sector of Prism City's Lower Plate, roughly the same location of real world Harlem 132nd St. and 5th Ave, there're 6 high-rises in the shape of a Y. A street runs through the middle of them forcing each side into a triangle like pattern. They're labeled A, B, C, D, E, and F with numbers in front to represent floor and room number. Danii's old residence, which she grew up in, is 903A (9th floor) and her current one, Anne's residence, is 2705C (27th floor). They're 40 floors high with the 41st being the roof. They are roughly 9 blocks from the highway that runs along the coast to the north and east.
Tracy's Home Tracy lives with his parents (and now Ashny) in a rundown shack of a house in the Lower Plate. It's falling apart and has leaky roofs. The windows are drafty and the heating unit is extremely unstable. They have power at least, though they barely ever use it. The house is shared with an old drunken man who also pays rent. Tristan has his own room in the house, though it's more like a closet than a proper room: think Harry Potter in the cupboard below the stairs.
Lyon's Flat An old run-down flat on the second floor of what appears to be a complex of flats. The complex once had a name, but the sign has been destroyed by vandalism and can't really be read anymore. It's close to a highway and usually very noisy.
Slade's Flat A flat on the poorer side of town. It's not too far from Lyon and Tracy's. You can't hear the highway traffic very well from his flat. It's old, falling apart and has little in the way of light. But this suits Slade juuuuust fine.
OTHER
Southeastern Dock A relatively small dock on the southeastern coast of the city. The Arianna is moored here, and when Dominic isn't out sailing he can be seen taking care of her.
Sanctuary of Hope Orphanage A small orphanage near the southeastern coast of Prism City. Dominic commonly donates money here and is considered to be one of the orphanage's leading benefactors. The children of the orphanage look up to him, and when he has no pressing business to attend to he may be found here playing with or reading to them.
The Arianna Dominic's pride and joy and new found hobby. The Arianna is a cigarette boat, capable of going up to 80 knots an hour in calm water. It's relatively diminutive, but serves the purpose he purchased it for. It has a small cabin, but nothing near the size of your average yacht. Sometimes, Dominic sleeps on his boat. Rarely does he ever go to his apartment for any reason. The cabin has an impressive hollow space which can be used to hide contraband. It can seat up to five people, generally.
The Empty Lot Tracy would go to play with his friends here once in a while. There was going to be a building project here for something a long time ago, but it ran out of funding and stopped part of the way. The only thing left now is bare ground with weeds, some bumpy, weatherworn concrete, and a pile of rusty boards. There is the occasional nail or other sharp object lying around. It's not exactly the safest place, but it's one of the more open spaces around that kids can access to play games.
The Old Brick Wall This is where Tracy first met Ashny. It's an old brick wall in the middle of a street between the school and his home. He and Ashny sit around here at times, observing people as they walk by.
