The women at the baby clothes shop were very friendly and helpful. It had actually made him a little uncomfortable at how cheerful and talkative they were, the whole time he felt bombarded. Oh well, he got what he went into the store for. Parker was now snuggled close in a sling and the little boy seemed content to sleep. Thankfully. He didn't seem to agree with England. French through and through, Camile thought fondly.
After that he did a bit of grocery shopping, got Parker more formula and diapers. It was easy to do, with his hands free. He even used the stroller for a shopping cart, so he didn't even have to worry about dragging it all home.
Now Camile and Parker were making their way down Diagon alley. Camile wanted something week, like lollipops or gumdrops and maybe coffee. Parker was starting to sleep in longer stretches but it was still hell on the nineteen year old. Caffeine would be heavenly.
It was fairly busy out and as Camile tried to maneuver around a corner, someone tried to squeeze by and ended up overbalancing his stroller. He tried to maintain control and get it righted, but combined with the weight of the groceries and trying not to disturbed Parker, the stroller fell over, his groceries were now on the sidewalk. And as careful as he'd been, Parker still got jostled and now he was upset and crying.
Biting back the curse words, he had to get Parker calmed down before he even attempted getting his things back. He couldn't concentrate on spells with a crying baby. "Shh, shh. It's okay." He bounced on the spot, rubbing Parker's back, as people walked around him. Thanks so much, he thought, frustrated.
