Another Round (tag: Ninkasi)
Kratos smiled and slid a bill onto the bar as a tip as the bartender brought another round. The Greek much preferred Ninkasi’s brand over anything actually served here, but it brought strange looks and suspicion if a person drank, and was obviously drinking and not nursing, a single beer for the entire night. And bartenders were a little less pissy and gave fewer dirty looks if a tab was actually run. Not that many people gave Strength dirty looks.
He felt her coming before she was even at his side, and he turned with a smile to keep her from seeing that he’d bought another set of bottles. He’d tell her before he drank them, but he didn’t want her to think he’d waited until she was gone and ordered behind her back. Though he sort of had. Sometimes, he felt a little overwhelmed when Ninkasi was with him at a bar. She sort of got dominant and confident around alcohol. Which was actually pretty hot, but it did make him feel superfluous when sitting at a bar.
“Hey, any interesting graffiti?” Kray greeted pleasantly. As nonchalantly as possible, he slid a cold bottle toward the space in front of the empty stool beside him. Then he reached for his own and his elbow nearly struck the shot glass pyramid left by that Sooki guy. Pity he had to go, but Kray really didn’t want to destroy his handiwork. Or draw that much attention to himself.
“You want to move to a booth or something?” The suggestion wasn’t only for the preservation of the glass artwork, but now that it was just the two of them, there was some personal stuff he’d like to discuss. A booth would be a little quieter and give them a little privacy.
