She had not realized his reasoning for choosing the options that he had.
Amazing. That he didn’t want her to feel that they needed to remain hidden any longer. It was deeper than simply wanting to give her an enjoyable evening, it stretched over their entire relationship rather than this one night. The enormity of what he was saying struck her hard and she felt a hot sting rise behind her eyelids.
Turning her head away, she took a calming breath, unwilling to let the tears free. Loki did not like crying women, and she wouldn’t put him in an uncomfortable position. But it was difficult. What he said spoke very clearly of his emotions.
Never once, not when they were courting, not when they were married, and certainly not when he’d been bound, not ever had he spoken aloud in a way that admitted the depths of his feelings for her. A lesser woman, or one that didn’t know him as well as she did, might not understand. But Sigyn did. Loki didn’t say he loved her with words. He did it with actions.
He did it by planning an evening that was totally designed for her enjoyment.
Another deep breath, and then she smiled softly, glancing at him from beneath her lashes. “Then we won’t hide anymore, älskling. We shall live a life in the open for a change. As for what I want, what I’d like extends beyond just this evening. But for right now…”
Sigyn wrapped her free hand around his arm as well, hugging herself closer to him. “Right now, in this very moment, I have exactly what I want. You planned a beautiful date, Loki. Thank you.”
