All Nemesis wanted to do was go home and sleep for a week. Spending all that time waiting for the hammer to fall because her brothers were idiots had been draining. And then, nothing happened. She wasn’t complaining about the lack of violence, but after all that tension, it was a bit jarring not to be told nothing was going to happen. Nem had to admit she was proud of Zeus for making peace with the Underworld instead of going to war with it.
The family meeting Erebos had called had gone actually better than she had thought it would. She was not all that surprised with Ethon refusing to admit he had been wrong, but she had been taken aback by their father’s response. It takes a lot to get the Darkness to kick one of his children out of the family. Both he and Mother must be really upset that they had to do that. Nem thought maybe she should go and see how Nyx was doing.
She also needed to go see Hades and make sure he didn’t require any additional retribution. Then she should probably go see Zeus and make sure that he knew that not everybody was willing to let this go without some sort of compensation. This could all still become a big muddled mess.
Retribution had left the family meeting fully intending to just head back to her home on Olympus and collapsing into her bed. But there was a sudden outcry for retribution from the mortal world that she needed to take care of before she could get any rest. Finally, she was free of any pressing responsibilities and was looking forward to seeing her bed.
As she neared her bedroom, Nem thought she heard voices. It was possible that she had left the radio on last time she had slept here. Sometimes she did forget to turn it off, especially when she got called to duty. She was tired enough now that she could probably fall asleep with the radio still blaring. Wearily, she opened the door and stepped into her bedroom.
Nemesis froze. She blinked a few times at the sight in front of her. It looked like her sister and brother were in her bed. Together. Naked.
