He stood at the prow of his personal cruise liner, small as such things were counted, but large and very opulent for the small group he had on board. The white hull gleamed and shone under his sister's rays, but eschewing a proper, soothing squall was a small price to pay. For the moment. Later, perhaps, it would serve as the perfect punchline--at least for him.
He drained his martini, savoring the muted pine flavor of the expensive gin. It was not his usual drink, this, but it gave him a little of an air of dignity. Orrrrr, maybe it just made him look silly. He didn't care. He had convinced Amaterasu to come out onto the sea with him, and that was rarity enough (since the sea was his), but he'd even managed to get her out on his boat. That was an occurrence he could count on one hand, even drunk. Especially drunk? Maybe. Whatever, the point was that she was here, and after today there was no way on heaven and earth that she was going to trust him on the water. He could live with that.
He turned, wandered past a couple of his divine guests, provincial gods from near Izumo who were deep in conversation with his associates Raijin and Fujin, and made his way to the foredeck bar. He ordered a scotch on the rocks this time, moving to something a little more to his palate; he noticed Uzume and Amaterasu nearby, but didn't immediately join them. The sight of his elder sister had him biting his free hand to stifle maniacal giggles, so he turned and made his way back up toward the prow.
Which is where he saw the burning of gold upon the water. His sharp eyes caught it immediately, and tracked it as it made its lazy way closer. Something that gaudy could only have belonged to his sister or to Helios. Trust a sun god to have golden everything. After several minutes had passed, the boat had come close enough that Susa-no-O could make out a person on deck. Helios. Stark, raving naked.
